Join the contestWhat's the go with the Army's PSR mk22s optics? I was lead to believe the Mark 5 5-25x56 with the Army's patented own reticle was the optic? Was the Trmr3 a trial optic or is this what they are running now? Some pics I took earlier of an Army issue Leupold MK22 scope if anyone is still curious about exactly what the non SOCOM scopes are.View attachment 8467800View attachment 8467801View attachment 8467802View attachment 8467803View attachment 8467804

On the plus side, i guess now this is something I can directly purchase.... on the negative side... I just bought the Mk5 5-25......I’ve only seen 3-18 Leupold MK6 scopes with the Army reticle.
All of the 7x35 have a Tremor 3 in the 30 or so rifles I’ve seen. It isn’t a trial optic.
I settled on 2800fps with the 245 EOL and suppressed. I started to get faint ejector marks at 2830fps. Lapua brass. What speeds are people getting with the stock 300 Norma barrels? Looking around it seems like its reasonable to push 245gr bullets to 2800-2900 FPS with the stock 26” barrel.
Nah lad. I saw a pic of it on facebook feed about a 6 months or so ago and since then I haven't been able to find jack on it. Starting to think I imagined it but the design replaced the telescoping butt plate with a fixed one that dropped the LOP to 13.5" fixed. The butt pad moved up and down still but wasn't hand adjustable and used screws to save space.Anybody have more info on the shorter lop buttpad, if its an actual thing.
Do you have any idea when they changed from the 5-25s to the T3 35s and why?I’ve only seen 3-18 Leupold MK6 scopes with the Army reticle.

No idea. I’m just an occasional end user. When they were finally issued, those were the scopes that came on all of the rifles I’ve seen.Do you have any idea when they changed from the 5-25s to the T3 35s and why?
Interesting, all of ours are Mil-Grid 4. I was under the impression Tremor 3 only came in the P-VPS scopes. Some pics I took earlier of an Army issue Leupold MK22 scope if anyone is still curious about exactly what the non SOCOM scopes are.View attachment 8467800View attachment 8467801View attachment 8467802View attachment 8467803View attachment 8467804
Half the rifles I shoot with are SOCOM contract rifles. So they have Nightforce ATACRs, which I prefer.Interesting, all of ours are Mil-Grid 4. I was under the impression Tremor 3 only came in the P-VPS scopes.
I was always under the impression those big army issue items are not allowed to differ at all if not funded/issued by SOCOM's own programs. But this could be an example that disproves that. Interesting either way.Half the rifles I shoot with are SOCOM contract rifles. So they have Nightforce ATACRs, which I prefer.
The other half of the rifles are (as far as I know) rifles purchased by the regular Army after they accepted and adopted the MRAD and funded a contract for more.
Leupold scoped rifles are issued to SOCOM units as well to plus up the MTOE.
Maybe there is a SOCOM version of the Leupold different from the regular Army rifles?
In stock??? I’ve had one reserved since January. Every time I ask for an update it’s “any day now”.Barrett MRADELR .416 Barrett 36" 1:9" Bbl Flat Dark Earth Cerakote Rifle 19612, just showed up @ EuroOptic!
Time for a road trip.
A few came in... mine being one of them.In stock??? I’ve had one reserved since January. Every time I ask for an update it’s “any day now”.
How do you like the 2 stage flat vs the factory trigger. Not alot of reviews out there on itJust my MRAD 338NM and Nightforce 7x35 ATACR were almost $10k with tax! Added 33XC and 41XC Bartlien Barrels, Barrett MK22 Fix-it Stick Kit, Dewey Rod and Boreguide, MK22 Armageddon Rifle Bag, Ajustable Bag Rider, AM338, Armageddon Suppressor Cover, MRAD Spare Parts Kit, Barret 2-stage flat trigger, Vertical Grip, Accutac Bipod, RRS Tripod, Vortex Impact 4000, and extra mags to equal 5 per caliber for total of 15. Barrett definitely saw me coming!!!
I actually have two Nightforce ATACRs, one on the MRAD and one on a dedicated 41XC build with 33" barrel. Right after I bought the 2nd one in their version of fde, the Mark22 ATACR came out on Europtic... GRRRRRRRRR.
I'm very satisfied. How do you like the 2 stage flat vs the factory trigger. Not alot of reviews out there on it
I like it!!! Used it to hit 2 consecutive shots at 2 miles. I've been shooting 2 stage triggers in my ARs for years and it just feels right. Adjustable and crisp break. How do you like the 2 stage flat vs the factory trigger. Not alot of reviews out there on it
How is your 41xc and what velocity you getting out of it?I like it!!! Used it to hit 2 consecutive shots at 2 miles. I've been shooting 2 stage triggers in my ARs for years and it just feels right. Adjustable and crisp break.
Anyone have an armorer manual, or have specific instructions on removing the buttstock (at the hinge)
I just ordered a .50 cal Thor Turbodyne Suppressor for my 41XC. I figure the blow by will reduce back pressure a bit with the understanding it will be a little louder.41xc MRAD sounds interesting! I am considering either a 33xc or a 37xc barrel for mine and cant make up my mind. Maybe I have to add 41 to the mix... even though I try to shoot suppressed whenever possible, and a 41xc from a 25lb MRAD suppressed would kick a lot
Great! I'm getting 2870 fps with 505gr WF from my 33-inch barrel CADEX build and its a tack driver. Still haven't had a chance to work up the load for my 28" 41 XC MRAD Bartlein ModBB barrel from Southern Precision, which as the twist for A-tips. I compared the ballistics on the 41XC to the MRADELR 416 Barrett and the 41XC is getting higher muzzle velocity. The only drawback is you can't mag feed. How is your 41xc and what velocity you getting out of it?
You can buy 33xc or 37xc brass below. To make the 41 just expand it or ask Superior Shooting systems if they can do it with the 37xc brassDo you get 41xc brass ready to load, or neck up 33xc brass? If so, is this a straight forward process? Like I said I am looking at 33/37/41xc for my Mrad, but if brass could be a hassle then I might reconsider. I am spoiled by buying Lapua 300NM brass and loading them straight out of the box..
Personally I would go non-carbon fiber. The MRAD is always going to be heavy and in my opinion, the extra cost isn’t really worth it. The extra weight will help you with recoil and staying on target the best you can with .300 PRC.I recently purchased an MRAD in 6.5 Creedmore and am looking to get another barrel kit in 300 PRC. I am debating between the regular fluted 26 inch barrel and the 26 inch carbon fiber barrel. Which one is better for that round? My concern is weight seeing that my current 24 inch 6.5 fluted barrel makes the gun heavy enough. Is there a noticeable weight difference between the fluted and carbon fiber barrel.
Agreed, Steel all the way....Personally I would go non-carbon fiber. The MRAD is always going to be heavy and in my opinion, the extra cost isn’t really worth it. The extra weight will help you with recoil and staying on target the best you can with .300 PRC.
If it was a light weight hunting rifle, completely different story.
I have 2 barrels one is 28in and the other 32in. I've only shot 390 A-tips but can push them from 2840 with H50bmg to 2970 with N570.Awesome. I guess no issues with XC cartridges in an Mrad? Apart from single feeding which I do for ELR anyways. Whats your barrel specs and bullet/velocity on the 37xc?
You have to call the office at davidtubb.com for 41XC brass. It will be stamped 37XC but has been necked up.Do you get 41xc brass ready to load, or neck up 33xc brass? In what regard? What’s failing / letting loose?Did they fix the rail/reciver design yet or are they still all ticking timebombs?
That was one of the first batches sent to the mil. It was due to a heat treat issue. It's a none issue with civ and mil units available before and after that batch.Did they fix the rail/reciver design yet or are they still all ticking timebombs?
That's what they would say. That was one of the first batches sent to the mil. It was due to a heat treat issue. It's a none issue with civ and mil units available before and after that batch.
No I was curious becuase I was offered one for a decent price but havent kept up with it. I know AMU and socom customers were having a bunch of issues with them as recent as this year. I was told to stay away until they fix it by someone many people here know and respect. I sold my last big bore a year ago and am itching for another 300nm. Trying to decide between a mrad or another cadex.I’ve yet to see an issued MK22 in the last several years with that problem as it appears to have been resolved.
And I am around dozens of sniper student rifles that are fairly well abused.
But I’m fairly certain you didn’t show up on this thread for an actual answer to what certainly appears at first glance as a snide, rhetorical question.
Then I apologize for misinterpreting you.No I was curious becuase I was offered one for a decent price but havent kept up with it. I'm same. No issues noted. Then I apologize for misinterpreting you.
I have not seen any recent bulletins about major issues.
There are some reports about POI shifts when shooting from a tripod mounted on an arca rail from rifles zeroed from a bipod.
Repeatable but noticeable. Whether that’s from a flex in the rifle itself or not I’ve heard different arguments on.
