All,
A friend and I were looking for a good deal on Wolf large rifle primers. He called a reloading distributor where he used to buy alot of stuff (including wolf primers). Powder Valley told him that Tula and Wolf primers are the same thing... That they come off the same assembly line and have the same part number.. Anyone know anything about this or shoot Tula primers?
Thanks

good to know, I was wondering the same thing and could not get 2 people to agree on the difference. since I am running low on wolf, I'll get a bunch of tula now.
thanx.

I have also heard they are exactly the same aside from packaging. This makes me a happy camper because I buy primers and powder exclusively from Powder Valley and all they carry now are Tula. It would have sucked to have to made a separate order (ie extra hazmat) just for Wolf primers.

Re: TULA primers the same as WOLF? Anyone using TULA?

I did a search yesterday and found a lot of threads here on the hide about Tula and Wolf primers.

There were a couple of replys that stated that these primers were just a RCH bigger in diameter than CCI's Federal etc.etc.. The jest of that being that cases that were showing signs of a loose primer pocket could get a few more loads out of before disposing of the case by using the Tula/Wolf primer.

I have not ussed them before, but if I had a chance to buy some and save money I would give 1000 a try. If the savings is only 1.00 per thousand, then I will stick with what I know.

Use them, love them. Can't see any difference other than both the Wolf and Tula Primers give me lower ES/SD when I chronograph my loads. Hard to argue with single digit ES of 5 fps on a .308 round.

I use both and have been told the same thing, that they are identical. Mine are not identical. The Wolf primers have a redish tint material in the them and the Tula's material is purple. If they are the same, why do they look different.

That being said, that's all I use. They go bang and shoot low SD's. I havent done any testing to determine if they shoot different.

I have different lots of Wolf that are different colors. No difference over the chrono or on the target.
