Actually, Pearl Harbor IS a better analogy. The Japanese conducted a daring raid that was wildly successful.........except they failed destroy the aircraft carriers. And as such, despite all the sunken ships, they hadn't changed America's ability to project power in the Pacific. The result was they got their asses kicked back to their island and two cities melted by an adversary they couldn't go toe-to-toe with. And why should be fund you again?

i just heard something on Napolitano that i was totally unaware of. there is some treaty between the US and Russia that says that all strategic nuc capable bombers will be based out in the open. might explain why the Russ bombers were so easy to find and hit.
seems an important result of this is that it will incense the Russ population,parts of which were not too happy with a war to start with.
the intent to scare them into advocating a Russian backing down is a true delusion. at least so historically. Russia endured Stalin and when Germany invaded the people went full in to resist it.
i know this is not Russia of 1941,i know propaganda controlling the narrative in 1941 and 2022 plays a part in Russian reactions. that is no different than China,NK,Arab states,Europe,Israel and esp the US of A. we have been big suckers for lies > a century.

Ukraine has never been our ally, and Russia hasn't been our enemy since the fall of the Soviet Union. Why should we pay for this again?

Not one of the three aforementioned morons has been able to explain to me how attacking Russia's nuclear infrastructure was a good idea for Ukraine.

YES! They absolutely do-not-want to live in American society. They played their hand and lost already with Capitalism, Freedom, and the marketplace of ideas- their lives are so unbelievably bad that they romanticize living as Russian serfs.

In the world that they created in their own head, Putin is strong, not weak, and the Free World should surrender to him and allow him to try his best at imposing his will over the Soviet Sphere.

This is all linked to "Foundations of Geopolitics" by Dugin- Zone of Special Privilege, deeply unfair western-dominated international order, need for a multipolar world with a revived Soviet Union just offered a seat at the table, etc.......

It's cute... but also on a serious note, disturbing, to see these guys who can barely punctuate a sentence repeating their best recollection of Kremlin talking points they got from Twitter or some blog, and getting it half right, on message.

The "forgotten men and women" living in the "vast wasteland of American carnage" were not forgotten by our Enemies- and that's more of a threat to our National Security than Chinese farms (which is also very bad).

Nobody here says that we will capture Moscow.There are none here.Everyone understands the reality of things.But no one will give up either. Never.Read the history of Ukrainians and about the UPA.And now we are in much better conditions than then.Our own country, our own armed forces, and we even have allies.
For us, winning in the war is preserving our independence, and for Russia, this is their defeat.
We don’t need to occupy the mausoleum.
And we can also put thousands of Ivans near the border of the Donetsk region for a very long time.

Yes. And the problem it creates is now Russia is going to want to break from that treaty and hide all its bombers. And so the US will in kind, most likely. Its just another consequence of this stupid operation, where Z is completely out of his league. Why should we pay for this again?

Nope. The main stream Pravda made it a point to pronounce that all CIA personnel were out of Ukraine when the war started. So it's not possible that they were in control of the operation. I know Ukraine is a third world country with the combined IQ of a gnat but they were assuredly in total control of planning and pulling off the drone attack.

You probably don't know the scale of the measures taken in the USSR to get the Western media to write a positive review about the advantages of socialist life.
They made whole tourist trips for influencers, showered them with fake artificial achievements...
ect.

It was leaving de commissioned Nuclear capable bomber out in the open, for satellites to see as verification START had be followed. As agreements were made to reduce numbers. Not sure but likely some (not all but some) of these left out and hit were none operational, ie moth balled but still sitting on the tarmac.

Nothing in START stating current in use delivery devices need to give away position or left out.

BTW START is about to expire.

I know quite a bit about it.

While I agree that the U.S. carriers were target #1 for the Japs, destroying those around Pearl during the attack would have only delayed the inevitable for a short time. The U.S. had 29 carriers by the end of WW2. U.S. manufacturing was a juggernaut.

Or is it stay till the job is done or your dead.
