I am planning on going to Las Vegas somewhere between march 12-march 18. I have never been before, so I am a complete LV noob. I will be going with a few friends, so we'll be looking to partying it up and what not (typical Las Vegas shenanigans).

I have been looking on sites such as Kayak.com for some deals around these times, but there doesn't seem to be much for "deals". So I guess here are some questions:

1) Are there any specific sites I should be looking at for deals?

2) I've noticed that it is a lot cheaper to spend say Sun-Mon-Tue then it is Fri-Sat-Sun. Is vegas much different on the weekends vs. weekdays for party atmosphere, etc? It will be during 'Merican springbreak if that makes a difference.

3) What hotels do you recommend? I know the big ones such as Bellagio, Mirage, Trump, Wynn, Encore at Wynn, etc. Doesn't seem to be much for deals for these hotels, but I am still early in my research.

4) Is 3 nights enough time in Vegas? Or how long would you recommend to stay there?

Here are a couple of the "deals" I've found, but I am sure there are better ones out there:

Re: Vegas deals?

3 nights is MORE than enough time in Vegas if all you're going to do is drink and party.

I was there a couple of years ago with the old lady. We stayed at a time share just south of the strip. I think it was like $40 bucks a day with for a suite (soup to nuts) and everyday it was just a quick 3 minute drive and we were in the middle of the strip.

I spent a week there but we did a bunch of stuff. Caught a few shows, Hoover Dam, landed at the bottom of the Grand Canyon and a bunch of other stuff. Even managed to take a day trip through the desert out to Santa Monica, CA.

Whatever you and your buddies do, you're sure to have a good time, especially if its your first time out.

Re: Vegas deals?

Three nights at the Venetian. If its just you & you wife - you will have much better prices on rooms, travel, easier to get into nice restaurants, shows etc. mid-week. If you are partying with friends - then yes the bars/clubs are better on weekends but also harder to get in, you will spend more bucks on weekends but if all boys partying - yes do the weekend.

Re: Vegas deals?

spring break and march maddness coincide so it will be crazy here. room prices double on the weekends. cab drivers get paid 20 bucks per head to drop you at a titty bar so you can haggle for the ride. total nude bars are sans booze. the hardrock casino is a good place for the younger crowd. 7 dollar ride from the airport(unless your driver is from Etiopia)

Re: Vegas deals?

Do you know anyone who gambles there frequently, if so talk to them. Vegas is in a world of hurt right now, some of my friends are there as i type this, the're from ohio and with airfair included i think it was around 500$ a person for a sunday-wends trip and their staying at the venetien (which is a pretty nice joint).

You could run into some problems being sping break but i doubt it, its not exactly a spring break mecca and they cant book enough rooms right now to matter anyways.

The best deal ive found for a decent place on the strip was at the Luxor, even when vegas was banging you could get a room for 99-150 a night and that s when a night at the venetien was 400-500. Ive stayed (or been in) about every hotel in vegas and still have a few freinds living out there (though our lifestyles vary greatly now lol)

I dont know exactly what your guys budget is but hers a list of places i would stay

1. venetien
2. wynn
3. bellagio
4. paris
5. luxor (nicest cheap place ive seen)

there are also some places downtown, the golden nugget and the city center or whatever that monstracity of a place is, that are nice, but downtown vegas is a ghetto, I wouldnt recommend staying there, there tourist traps (as well as the hard rock and whatever the place the Ghost Bar is in the mallof bros place, sorry cant remember the name, but there off the strip and require a taxi which during a spring break type of time sucks(especially for out of town folk).

Im sick of typing, send me a P.M.
