Army to Issue Bug-Proof ACUs in 2013

Not real sure how it would work when after a month or so in the field the uniforms start to get pretty ragged, with wait-a-minute bushes ripping away at them.

If I remember right the crotch was normally the first part to go.

But I can certainly see the benifits of a "bug proof uniform".

I might finely break down and go Tacti-cool with my hunting cloths.

When I saw that they were impregnating BDUs with bug repellent, I wound up getting a set for camping, I look like a total idiot wearing them, but they do work pretty damn well, and in GA during mosquito season that's a big deal.

Kraig,

For what it's worth, we were issued permithin (sp) treated uniforms when we went to Iraq in 2010. Didn't save a lot of bug bites as far as I could tell. still got ticks in Camp Shelby, and mosquitos & flies in Iraq. Gave the ACU's sort of a greenish-yellow color, that's about it.

And they told you "Agent Orange wont hurt you.".

There are ticks in Iraq? Learn something every day.... If those things are lightweight enough, I might actually be able to take up turkey hunting.

Edit: Nevermind, I skimmed over the Camp Shelby part.
