Just wanted some opinions on this powder and bullet combination for an AR with a 20” barrel and an adjustable gas block.

Typical loads I see online involve charge weights between 23 to 24 grains with a 77gr SMK at 2.24” for Mk262 clones (23.8 grains typical).

From what I can see, this is an accepted norm.

QuickLOAD suggests pressures in excess of of 73,000 psi using this combination, putting it deep into the red zone.

Safe to go this high?

I’m unable to shootto for the foreseeable future since my wife now requires full time care due to early onset Alzheimer’s.
Because of this, I’m paring down some guns, projects and parts from the safe and gun bench. I’ll list these separately.

1. Origin Short Action with 6Arc bolt and 25.5” Douglas 6Arc Barrel, and Triggertech Primary. Includes new .308 bolt head and Action Wrench. Action has less than 30 rounds. Barrel was purchased for this project from a Hide member and has less than 130 rounds. He was seeing under .5moa with it and I saw the same with my first load. Barrel is 1.2” at the action and 1” at the muzzle. I can include the load he was using for the best groups. Trigger has around 1000 rounds on it and is clean and crispy. There is a small ding on the bolt knob just for transparency.
I’m listing this as a set for a while before I think about breaking it up.

First I understand all rifles and ammo lots perform differently.

My question putting different lots aside for the moment.

In a given rifle does Lapua ammo performance consistency get better groups as the type goes from:
center-x
super long range
Midas+
x-act

Or asked another way

Do all lots of x-act out perform all lots of Midas+ Do all lots of Midas+ out perform all lots of center-x?

I am not a big competitor just a local club guy.

Something I've been seeing a lot more in the NOVA/MD/DC area are cars with "student driver" stickers whose occupants are definitely not student drivers. Typically have a shitload of anti-Trump/anti-US stickers and lots of pro-Biden/Harris, pro-Hamas, pro-Antifa, etc stickers. Sneaky way of self-identifying to other shitheads without being obvious to cops, conservatives, etc?

Seems i build a short ar every few years now (braced as i live in the state of chiraq) and upon shooting them im just underwhelmed by them the only bonus to me is that its a nice small package but short of that id rather a 16in rifle setup any day of the week

What’s your opinion on Otis Ripcord bore cleaners? Do they actually work as advertised?

Wouldn’t fouling get embedded on/in the ripcord over time reducing it’s effectiveness and potentially becoming abrasive to the bore?

Would a one piece nylon/coated cleaning rod and traditional solvents work better?
