I figure this is the best place to ask these questions:

1. Does carpal tunnel more or less mean an end to shooting as a hobby? I work at a computer and between the mouse and typing, my right wrist hurts more and more each day. Any suggestions / recommendations for relief? Did surgery actually help?

2. Age seems to be catching up to me… between sports / military related injuries, I seem to hurt more and more with each passing year… im beginning to wonder if I’m at the point that purchasing new guns / optics is a waste of money and I should pick a new hobby.

This may be more or less arriving at my mid-life crisis but not sure. Happy to hear thoughts from some others who enjoy this.

Good evening guys, I'm building a ultralight GPR. My goal is to have a sub 8lbs. rifle with optic, scope rings and sling.
1. For my base I'm leaning towards the *Left Handed* Tikka T3x light rifle in 308Win.
2. I'm wanting to do a lightweight LPVO in MRAD (suggestions welcome).
3. For the mount I'm leaning towards the ADS Scout Straight QD 30mm one piece mount.
4. I'm going to have the barrel cut to 16.25in and threaded to fit a 5/8-24 thread pitch SureFire Warcomp Flash Hider adapter so I can run a suppressor as well. 5. For back up iron sights I'm leaning towards the SkinnerSights Picatinny Rail with integrated ghost ring rear, and a SkinnerSights Marble Uni-ramp front (suggestions also welcome).
6. For the sling I'm leaning towards the Ferro Concepts "Slingster".
7. I'm planning on having the barrel bolt fluted and the bolt handle knurled.
8. To finish it off I'm going to have the rifle stock Cerakoted a classic OD green and the barrel Cerakoted a flat matte black
I live in a heavily wooded area and my max open distance without going to a shooting range is 350 - 400 yards.

Today there was a couple of posts of Fakebook. Advertising a close out on Vortex Scopes. Many models listed, including some of the high dollar models. Price, $150 per scope, regardless of model.

As this seemed to fall under the “too good to be true” category, I went to Vortex’ web page and saw nothing of the sort. Later, another fellow who saw it contacted Vortex and their representative reported that it was sure enough a scam.

Ad looked very professional. When you click on the heading, now you get a Vortex Facebook Page with no posts listed.

After years of thinking, saving and then spending the saved money on something that was more important (like a 50th Anniversary gift for my wife, who I am truly blessed to have; that was the last one). Trying to decide to go inexpensive or no, do I really want the one that was more expensive. Trying to decide which of the five different and obvious (to me) choices, Rim-X, Vudoo, Curtis Conversion, Bergara B-14 or the CS 457 in a Manners stock. Then, since I really wanted to try a Manners having been very impressed with them but having all three in chassis, (now two, I sold one) do I want to try a Manners or go back with a chassis. So, after much worrying over which and generally jsut hem-hawing around, I went and done It

I made a couple of sales, and got a windfall so I went ahead and made the choice. A Vudoo Gen 3 in an MPA chassis will be heading this way. It’s what I really wanted all along. Brenda is not terribly upset because I am having it built rather light (she worries about me shooting my 18-20 pound chassis rifles)

Now, the scope. I like my MK5 5-25’s. But maybe a Bushnell this time, or another MK5, or a new MK4 and if I don’t like it, I can put it on Brenda’s .223 and get a MK5 or A Leica 5-25, some really brag on the Zeiss but a ZCO which is the obvious choice is just not in the budget.

Now, I truly believe, that this will likely be my last. At my age, I have far too many sitting in the gun safe, gathering dust. But so many were anniversary gifts, birthday gifts, builds, my IHMSA handguns, our revolver collection (we have some specials)….. Don’t ask because it is against forum rules and at this point, they are Not for sale, yet.
