I just started shooting out to 100 yards and getting used to the distance. My best 5shot group of the day was ~0.5" using SK standard plus. The rest were between 0.75 - 1.00"

I know I'd be better off using something like SK long range, but I can't find any at the moment..so SK standard is I have currently to practice with.

I case you haven't seen it yet. Here is a video on the new Cortina Precision HS Full Length sizing dies. He has taken a little different approach than others by using the bushing to set the shoulder. But you are going to pay for it. The die body can be used for several cartridges so the cost may not be too bad if you load several different cartridges in the same case family.

What would be the top choices for a .284/7mm caliber cartridge to push 160-180gr class bullets in a long action standard bolt face action. Quality brass would need to be a available and fire forming is out. I’m not interested in a magnum anything.

This would be for targets and hunting so I would most likely use 162gr and 180gr eldm bullets as I have lots of experience using eldm bullets for both. I would probably end up getting a barrel for my Desert Tech so magazine length is not a concern at all. Lots of room in these things.
