Optics ATACR price drop

looking to sell my 5-25 F1 Mil-C. Purchased off here awhile back now, it’s been home on my Dasher has been shot out out to 1200 yards multiple times and have never had a tracking issue. I’ve tried to show any and all damages in the pictures. Ring marks may be there not going to take off till it sells or serious buyer wants pics but it’s in ARC rings and haven’t had issues in the past. No box or paperwork (didn’t receive when I purchased it) but has the caps, sunshade, beauty ring and cap for wind. Asking $2375 buyer pays ride!

SOLD Leupold MK5 7-35 PR-2

I have a slightly used Leupold MK5 7-35 FFP MIL in PR2 reticle. A few scratches on the exterior. Comes with Leupold 35MM Rings, box and all things that were originally included. I bought this scope for LE sniper school last September. I've now been issued an actual rifle so my personal bolt gun gets 0 use. I currently have no feedback as this is my first time posting in the for sale section. Current LE with morals and character. $1750 shipped. Can take paypal or cashapp. Can be contacted by phone through PM for any further pictures. Only trade is Chinese underfolder double spiker, can add cash depending on what it is.

I'm in a conundrum - through a series of fortunate events, I've been able to get ahold of two really nice short barrel uppers - a Daniel Defense Mk18 upper with 10.3 barrel and FDE (well DD's version of it) RIS II quad picatinny handguard as well as a Geissele Super Duty 11.5" all black with MLOK handguard.

Some things to be aware of, will mostly be shot suppressed and will be outfitted with NV gear - Steiner OTAL-C and Luna ELIR-3.

I am leaning toward the DD Mk18 but I am not a huge fan of quad rail handguards though it does make it convenient for mounting accessories.

For those with experience give me your pros and cons between the two. I don't think I can go wrong with either but thoughts would be appreciated as I may not be thinking of something fairly obvious to others....

Grinding feeling on bolt lift

I bought a defiance tenacity action about a year ago. Put it together for a 6mm creedmoor build. While I waited for powder primers and brass I constantly cocked it and closed the bolt and dry fired I'd say about 5k times.

Fired 5 rounds today, to check function, and get a fire formed case. After doing so. I tried to find my jamb point with 3 cases using locktite in the case mouth. While I was doing this, the bolt felt like it was grinding on something when lifting it. Took the cases out and put rounds in that the COL was well below the jamb point. Still getting a grinding feeling upon bolt lift. Then no bullet at all. Still grinding.

Been in the AR game for awhile. Bolt actions are new to me. Any ideas why this is happening?

Seating depth test. (Which one would u pick?)

I am right at the end of calling my load workup for my new 6cm barrel done. Looks like I have 2 nodes one is a touch tighter but falls off faster. The other is not as tight but is almost twice as wide and falls off slower. Right off the bat I had decided on the smaller but after looking I think I'll use the other with the wider node for more forgiveness. What your thoughts?

Why’s is it cool to hate your craft?

So much of this trendy “I work to live, I don’t live to work”

I’m like go suck start a 12G, I mean a majority of your life, what you will be remembered for are the fruits of your labors, not wanting to do said craft seems sad

Lots of these types of people if I mention that I LOVE my job and don’t see myself ever retiring regardless of money, like my retirement is death, they almost get offended

What gives? I mean was it that long ago men were proud of what they did?

Which backup-handgun for hunting?

Hey guys,
please don´t laugh at me.

I´m totally thorn between two handguns, which are very different.
It is about the Glock 32 in .357 Sig and the Ruger Redhawk 5,5" in .44 Magnum.

Why those two?
Well, my thoughts are for a light and small pistol, easy to carry, concealed as well, with enough stopping power for a hog (no bears around) and on the other hand the hand cannon, six-shooter, doing it all and some more, but heavy and bulky.

In my opinion both will do the job, and I like the idea of the Magnum, but then on the other hand mo´ammo and easier to carry.
I will have to drive with it in the car, and "pirsch" ("walkhunt" or stalk) some miles every time when hunting.

How would you decide?

Just wanted to show off the work Daniel did on my rifle over at Primal Finish in TN. I’ve had this idea for a few years and was foolishly going to attempt it myself at one point. I’m glad I hesitated and put it in the hands of a true master. This rifle is my baby, the gun I started shooting long range with almost 15 years ago. It started out as a 700P 5R that 15 years ago seemed to be the go to starter rifle for long range. I shot the original barrel out after a couple of years then did a complete rebuild off the action. Action squared & trued, PTG bolt, Krieger 1-10” barrel, Manners T4A, and bedded by my gunsmith. Gun shoots fantastic and routinely make 1st round hits to almost 1200 with Berger 185’s. Killed many deer with this gun. Only thing it’s been lacking is a proper paint job deserving of this awesome gun. I can’t say enough about the quality of work over at Primal. This is the 3rd rifle he’s done for me and has knocked them all out of the park. Anyway if you have been considering getting a gun painted, have a conversation with Daniel. His work speaks for itself but I can personally say he’s been a pleasure to deal with.

O'Shay's Trouting Adventures!!!

Got bit by the inland small stream trout fishing bug, this is my 4th season.
I seem to catch a decent amount of Brookies, which are my favorite. My best is an 18" which is pretty decent for Wisco.
However until yesterday I was unable to crack the 20" plus mark on a Brown.
This guy had some good shoulders, cool blue cheek, and the start of a kype mouth. He was 24"+/-
I run solo so no great photo, but I snapped a pic, and got him back clean.
Fall is here so I hope to catch his dad, or fat mom. :)

Rifle Scopes LRTS/LRHS vs XTRIII

Guys,

Is this even a question? At this point, I have a collection of LRTS/LRHS scopes and really like them for what they are. All but one are illuminated models.

Being that the XTRIII USA made are non illum, it's got me thinking whether it would make for a good upgrade. I do prefer illuminated reticles because I hunt with most of my rifles and nighttime hog hunting calls for it. However, this rifle does not get that kind of use.

Would going from the LRTS to the XTRIII be a big upgrade? Is the glass substantially better?
Looking forward to hear yalls thoughts!
