Short story long...... I've been spending an insane amount of time driving and operating equipment lately,- talking to an older guy the other day and he says "That sounds terrible- how can you do that?" Tell him it hasn't been to bad because I found a big collection of books on cds at a yard sell and that I've been listening to all of Hemingway's books. Those are “new prices”. Haven’t seen too much info on the xtr 3, but that is half the price of the razor.

Gun is a origin SA, 223 rem, 24” proof in a mpa comp chassis.

Is the razor worth the extra money? Or will the Burris get it done. I don’t wanna cheap out, but that’s a big price difference. I realize I can always buy used as well.

A really good friend of mine recently passed and I got his shooting stuff. He was pretty big into regional PRS shoots and was an equipment and methods perfectionist. Everything is top quality………

I have his Impact 6mm GT rifle (pretty heavy), extra barrels, scopes, bullets, brass, etc. I don’t really like this rifle (other than sentimental reasons) and I’m thinking it’s too target & steel specialized for me. I already have a real accurate 6.5x47 rifle for steel and whitetail. I’m thinking about rebarreling the 6mmGT to a 7mm something (WSM?) more suitable for mule deer and perhaps elk.

Looking for input on what hide members would do?
build another 6.5x47?
build a 7mm short action something?
what barrel would you use, Proof research?
sell the 6mmGT?

I have two Remington 700 long action bdl stocks.
First is a bell and Carlson medalist varmint/tactical fully adjustable stock. Length of pull and cheek height is adjustable. It has the anshutz rail mold in the fore end. It was bedded by the previous owner and has some of the finish rubbed off from use but nothing bad. It is tan with black spider web.

I’m developing the load for my rifle and had an idea.
After I get the load figured out, and start dialing in my scope, I’ve thought about checking my zero against a Lead Sled or a version that comes from Hyskore that includes the rest and a remote firing device with tubing and a a syringe type plunger. I can get both items for the same price, so that’s not an issue.
Would it be worth it? Would the amount of adjustments I’d make, be worth $145 ?
I haven’t used either one, and I don’t need it to zero. Was just thinking about checking the zero. This is a new rifle and I’m just now starting to shoot it, and it’s data book.
