For people that have run AW and AICS mags in comp, which one would you run and why? I have been using AICS mags and haven’t really had any issues but considering a move to AW for smaller foot print. Have a Zeus action which is cut for AW mags so that box is checked.

I was thinking of getting a PVS 14 for my KA 25 rifle and 1000 rds ammo. Also I wanted to have 1000 .45 acp +p+ for my HK45CT with suppression of course. In my kit I also have a Tanto style k bar knife with drop leg holsters for both my knife and side arms. My plate carrier has mag pouches and room for flashlight and comms, which is a Yeasu FTR3D, unlocked of course. I need to make a pouch for extra batteries and antenna. I have med kit and leg and arm splint. I don’t know where to put the crutches though. For quick meals I have some granola bars and trail mix, I also have this cool egg carrier and a cast iron pan for omelets.

At any rate, I’m rambling. What NV is best for my HK45?

So the gobag thread got me thinking . I am completely unprepared for a evacuation scenario where you might be forced from the home for a variety of reasons. Could be EMP, chemical or biological, radiation etc. But we talking imminent life threatening event, where area is not going to be fit for survival.

If you have to evac with a quickness, I assume one will need some large spare duffles, totes, (trashbags) and depending on how much shit you can cram into the Tesla, will need to prioritize. Not to mention will likely need to gather shit from your closets, safes, shelves, pantries etc.

What about pets? Take them along in case a protein source is needed later down the road? With a wife and kids things get more complicated, can't just bolt with the lifestraw, a 22LR , a magnesium strip and knife to head for the mountains where you will rebuild civilization with your bare hands...

Maybe a good idea to set up weekly evacuation drills? So, what's your evacuation plan?

So I’ve been pulling my hair out for a couple months as I got into competitive 22 shooting. I can print tiny bug holes with my CZ at 50 yards, but as I stepped out my groups would move to the right.

At 200 yards my POI would be .2-.3 MIL to the right. At 300 yards it would approach half a MIL right. I also noticed that shooting prone reduced the error if not eliminated it, but off the bench I bet I fired 300 rounds that exhibited this.

I leveled and checked and leveled and checked my scope so many times. All seemed fine. I even replaced the scope last week.

Shot this weekend, and it was doing the same thing with a different scope. But then I had an idea. I shot groups left handed. Now they were also off - but to the left. In near identical measurements.

Now my 200 yard correction is around 7 MILs and my 300 yard is around 13 MILs.

My thinking is that this large amount of elevation dialing is exaggerating my cant - am I on track here? I can shoot my 6.5 PRC for example out to 500 yards all day with no noticeable shift but I’m not going near 7 MILs of adjustment on it. My logic is that I’m lowering my POA so much with the large adjustments that I’m pushing POI to the right with my right cant shooting right handed and vice versa for left handed.

I ordered a Hoptic rail level and attempted to put it on my CZ today and could not get it level. Put it on a Bergara CF and it did great. Guess I’ll order some tube mount levels for other rifles.

I’m guessing I just need to get some good level indicators and watch them and practice the feel. Any tips?

Selling my Mountain Hardwear Hunker 1 tent. These are super rare and SKD got a very limited batch a number of years ago and I snagged one. These were developed for Navy Seal sniper teams so it’s the perfect place to cuddle your MK13 build.

The tent is in excellent shape no rips tears patches or anything like that. It’s been used maybe 3 times, last time was last fall at dry tortugas. It will be like new once I vacuum the sand out. It’s listed as a one person tent and that may be the case if you’re a very large human but the girlfriend and I had no issues sleeping in it together along with our packs. Comes with all the sacks, stakes, poles, the whole deal. I believe the literature is even still in the inside pocket.
