Has anyone ever seen this in a new AR chrome lined barrel?

4B32EFC3-DF32-41C2-AFEB-01A0531BE6AE.jpeg5D472650-9E51-4125-8373-4C625C13336D.jpeg

I may be over reacting to these bore scope images but has anyone ever seen anything like this in a new AR chrome lined barrel? The streaks can be seen in many places mid-bore. The picture of the “chip” was taken in the chamber.

I‘ve heard bore scopes can give us undue concern about the inside of our barrels but this barrel was fairly expensive and brought brand new through a respectable company. The images were taken the night of delivery. After my initial look-see I pushed an oiled patch down the tube to see if it was some kind of dirt/grime/grease. A little dark carbon like residue came out on the patch but that didn’t seem to remove any of the streaks. I’ll try copper remover after I get some feedback and discuss this with the selle.

Anyone ever seen this? Anyone know what these streaks are?
(Please don’t just respond - No problem, just shoot the shit out of it unless you’ve seen this in a new barrel and can tell me what these marks are)

Retirement looms on the near horizon.......

Retirement, the option to be done with it is a mere 12-18 months away. So the question is, do you call it done or grind it out until 65-67 and leave with more money and less health? I could literally bank another $500,000 if I stayed six more years. The problem is this job is tough on you, it is all weather, all hours and all the time, overtime, it is not six years of sitting in an office 9 to 5.

In 12 short months the National Guard will start paying me a nice healthy check every month along with medical insurance for life. Combined with my retirement from a previous civilian job that I had for twenty years my staying at home income is pretty solid. Everything is paid for, houses, trucks, cars, camper and I carry no debt on credit cards. Six months after the guard checks start rolling in, I can retire from my current job with yet another smallish pension at 62. After 62, there is social security as well. So, even if I called it done in 12 months, my income has two more nice increases coming in the next few years so life would still get better. My take home will actually increase once work is done.

While I am apparently well off and make more money than 97% of America, I apparently make less money than 99% of the fuckers on the internet. I'm the only guy on the internet not riding in my private jet to box seats at every NFL game. I'm expecting Biden and his fucktard administration to screw up the stock market before they leave office and everything will take a 10-20% hit for a few years, I can weather that just fine as well. It's already accounted for in the master plan. I'm at the, "Holy shit, I may have actually done this", stage.

It's getting awful close to time to call it done and go hunting, shooting, camping and driving my sports car full time. I'm nervous, this scheme has been more than forty years in the making. I have plenty to do to entertain myself in retirement and I'm sure between kids, grandkids and interesting things to do boredom will not be a problem.

Would you keep working or be done as soon as possible?

For those of you who are retired. How did it feel to finally pull the trigger and be done, to have every day as your own?

Firearms WTS/WTT Pre Ban HK91 - *Withdrwan*

I am looking to get back into long range so it’s time to move some stuff that’s been sitting in the safe. I have a pre ban HK91 with a HK date code (1979) and a collapsible stock. It will come with six 20rd mags as well. It is in very good condition with just a few handling marks and very little wear internally. This is a great collector piece that is usable as well. I am asking $3800 shipped for it but feel free to make me a reasonable offer. I am open to trades as well.

Possible trades:
Custom/semi custom comp rifles with or with optics. (Prefer 6mm but open to others)
Mid to high end scopes
Rifle components suck as actions, chasis/stocks, barrels.
Various other long range gear

NOT all 5.56 Bolt Carrier Groups are created equal!

My new Aero Precision bolt carrier group is better than the Tool Craft nickle boron. The Aero PRecision bcg runs in my AR15. Not so with the tool craft which does not retract fully. The bolt in the tool craft is very tight fitting. Too tight which is causing the problem. The Aero Precision is a much better made and much more precise product. I hope PSA will access a return and give me a refund on the junky tool craft.

Now that SHOT is wrapping up and we've seen some higher magnification FFP optics come out, I am curious if there is interest in an even higher magnification, why stop at 36x or 40x? Or do you feel we've reached "the top", either due to mirage issues at long range limiting higher magnification, you are perfectly content with what is already offered or some other reason. Feel free to respond with why you chose what you chose, and if choices are different for PRS long range comps vs. NRL22 style short range comps vs whatever style of shooting you prefer.

SOLD ZCO 4-20 FDE in Spuhr Mount

I bought this about 2 weeks ago on this forum from other member. Life / reality set in and I realize this is more than I need right now.

I am going to borrow the original description as I have not used it since I received it:

“New with all the boxes and paperwork…ZCO 4-20 with mpact2 reticle in a Spuhr mount. I bought this new from CS Tactical last year as well, had them ceracoat the scope, spuhr, tenebraex caps and ARD to match. They did a great job.”

You can look up his post to verify.

I did not take my own photos yet so figured I would do that later, but once again, you can probably find old post.

I’m willing to trade for a mid tier optic (mark5 3-18, nx8 4-32 or 2-20, etc) plus cash, or sell for $3700 shipped. After I pay insurance and shipping I’ll be losing money so that price is firm. Prefer illuminated reticle for trade but not necessarily deal breaker.

In a trade, my goal is scope plus 2k cash to me.

Payment via zelle, cash, MO, check, potentially PP f/f.. I will exchange phone numbers, text, call, send a video of it, whatever you want.

Accessories Garage sale (krg, arken apa, trigger tech etc...)

I will go by the time stamp please say I’ll take it in the thread followed by a pm include which item you want

All prices are shipped usps priority

New Ammunition plant to open manufacturing primers

I just saw this today. great news!

UPS Store Refuses Packages ... Diligent or Douchebags ???

Disclaimer: RANT follows ...

Preface: It takes a lot to piss me off ...

So this is weird ... twice. A couple of weeks ago I sold a rifle, and had it packed and labeled for UPS-Ground using my own customer account. Took it to the UPS Store here in Bend, Oregon and the person behind the counter says "What is it?". I respond "A well-packed and unloaded rifle". She then says ... "You have to take that to a UPS Company Hub, we're a franchise and can't ship firearms of any kind". After a lengthy debate, all very polite, I realized I should have said "Dog Food" or maybe "A Tent" because she'd have no way to verify or confirm. I walked away, drove to the UPS Hub, and said "You can ship this firearm, right?". The answer was "Of course - not a problem".

Fast forward to yesterday ... I had an Amazon shipment of three electric horse stall water heaters that were the wrong type and I needed to return them. I did the Amazon return authorization, and packed them in exactly the same box they arrived in. When I went to the UPS Store, the same lady said "We can't take that package." I asked "Why not?". The answer was "Because that symbol is on the box."

Here's the symbol she was pointing at ... and she said it was a code for "Hazardous Material".

1642697081885.png

I explained what was in the box, and that there was nothing even remotely hazardous about it, and that was the same box it arrived in two days earlier. I got the same schtick ... "You'll have to go to the UPS Hub and see if they'll take it. Another polite argument, with the same justification that they were a "franchise" and had rules about what they could accept.

Again, I drove to the UPS Hub and dropped the package with no issues. I asked the desk clerk that accepted the package why the UPS Store can't take this ... and she had some choice words for the local UPS store.

My guess is that they don't make any money on packages dropped there that are pre-labeled, and they're consciously discouraging that wherever possible.

So don't believe the commercials ... the reality is the UPS Store's "...ing..." marketing campaign, along with packING, shippING, faxING, copyING, etc. ... needs to add "refusING" to their list.

Lessons Learned
  1. Lie about what's in the box if you're shipping firearms from a UPS Store
  2. If that symbol is on the box, use a different box if you're shipping from a UPS Store
  3. Just drive straight to the UPS Hub since the UPS Store is stocked with douchebags
Here endeth the lesson (and the rant).

Remember when Republicans challenged the legitimacy of the Election? (Warning contains VP being stupid)

Seems like our friends the "Dems" have picked up the idea and decided to run with it but with a twist: Pass our bill or the election will not be legitimate

Watch your liberal friends go "Yes, But....." as they explain why this is different.
