Picking Scope for "SPR"

Looking to pick up a scope for a newly acquired 18" upper in 5.56. I've been mainly considering the Vortex Viper PST Gen II 3-15x44 as it meets the main things I want:
  • Decent magnification range (2-4 on the low end and 15-20 on the high end)
  • FFP
  • MIL reticle
  • Christmas tree style reticle
  • Under $1k
But before I buy, I wanted to see if anyone had input on the Viper or any other similar scopes within the requirements listed above. I don't want to completely skimp on quality, but I'd like to keep the price below $1k, or even better, closer to price of the Viper I found at $900.

FBI says it’s hunting Iranian assassins intent on killing Trump & Trump era administration officials

Or at least thats their cover story.

I consider OJ Simpson's story of trying to find the 'real killers' of Nicole Brown Simpson more credible.

Not that it matters on the national level

but it sure does on the local, (which is much more important) make sure you vote today if your state does.

Moving your local back to what the founders envisioned, will allow a small level of protection when it all goes to shit. Might just buy the time you need to form your own gang, to better counter their gangs.

Unbelievable!!!

Done it myself. Thought by waving my hand in front of the door’s motion sensor would activate the door,

But in reality, All’s I was really doing was using the force to move an unmovable wall.

Powder unavailability

John Quirk

[email protected]

This is an open letter to the Powder Manufacturers.

A number of powders have been out of stock for an unacceptable period of time. Some popular IMR powders like 4895, 7828, have been unavailable approaching six months others like
( I am told) 4955 even longer.

What is going on? If you look for instance at Powder Valley and sort on IMR powders you will find most are out of stock. Is Hodgeon Powder Company purposely not manufacturing these in favor of their own? Well Hodgeon they aren’t the same!!

Assuming I am wrong in my insinuation, Hodgeon should make a public statement in the various discipline publications; stating the reason for their delay and a timetable for reintroduction of these important powders

I am looking for a bipod

I have a Savage bench rest that is more than thirty years old. In the past I have always used a machine rest but now i want to put a bipod on it. Problem is no one in the gun sales business including Savage can tell me which one. On the bottom of the forearm in has a slot, the length of the forearm where it would go. I have been told a need an adapter to go from this slot to a pick rail. If anyone knows how to put a bibod on this reifle I would be grateful for any help you can provide.
Thank you

SOLD SPF - Elite Sand AI Left Hand AXSR plus barrels, bolt bodies, magazines, and case

SOLD

Honestly a little surprised this one is getting caught up in the streamlining but I rarely shoot it and prefer the ergonomics of a more traditional tactical stock. The entire package includes the following:

Left hand AXSR rifle in elite sand (The arca rail and barrel wrench flats have some wear on the finish.)
26" 300 WM barrel (round count ~60)
24" 6.5 CM barrel (Round count ~150)
20" 308 barrel (Round count ~40).
LH Standard Bolt body
LH Magnum Bolt body
LH Lapua Bolt body
AI Case with foam cutout, the foam isn't exactly a perfect fit and I have had to do some trimming, but it works.
4x Standard (.308) case magazines (two with white sharpie marking)
2x Magnum case magazines (with white sharpie marking)

The rifle will ship with the case, I don't need it but the buyer will. I am willing to sell barrels and bolt bodies separately if and only if the gun sells first and the buyer only wants some of the bolts/barrels. Then the remainder can be sold.

Price does not include scope, but if you want it and am buying the rifle we can possibly work something out

All in price -
11,000
Gun and one bolt/barrel combo and case (includes two mags that go with that combo) $8400
Barrels - $800
Bolt body - $600
Barrel/Bolt body/Mag combo - $1400 (Includes two mags)

All prices shipped, insurance is extra

Payment via Check Only. Personal checks will clear before shipping.

Which generation's fault?

Thought that this deserved its own thread. Peak boomer here. Historically, republics seem to devolve to oligarchies in 300 years or so--typically due to bankers. So, here we are. Early financialization of the 70s culminated in the repeal of Glass-Steagall under Clinton. Financialization took off like a house afire after that. We have the best government money can buy.

As far as who voted for whom? It probably doesn't matter. We went from a pro-business Republican party and a pro-worker Democratic party in general balance to a pro-money, pro-war uniparty. Rather than watching where the money goes, we allowed ourselves to be distracted by black vs white, straight vs gay, pro-abortion vs pro-life.

There are two functions of government: tax/spend and sanctioned violence. They will not be denied.

Steiner H6xi

I know these haven’t really been out long enough for there to be much info on them yet or any real reviews but I’m interested in one as it seems to check alot of boxes for me as a do it all hunting scope. So what I’m interested in is how does Steiner typically stack up against the other big names in the optics world such as Nightforce, Zeiss, Trijicon, Leupold etc. mostly concerned with durability, holding/return to zero, tracking and to a lesser extent, glass quality.

Thanks for any input and hopefully the link works.

Legitimate Civil War (1861-1865) Question

I live in an area where there was supposed to be a Union corral during the Civil War. Nobody has ever located the actual site of the corral, or if they have it has never been publicized. I have bought several books through the years with maps and such, but can’t seem to find any information that points to a location for this corral. This would have been in Tennessee. Does anyone know of any collections of obscure maps? The thought is that this is somewhere on private property. There are still some pretty large tracts of undeveloped land in the area that might be potential locations, literally 10,000+ acres.

LabRadar ... in case you're listening

Dear LabRadar ... you have a problem, and it's name is "Garmin". The best way to solve that problem is to get your new LabRadar LX into the hands of as many people as possible, just as quickly as possible, even if it means "buying" a little market share. The LX looks like an interesting hybrid device, but it's late to market, and carries some significant baggage left over from the old LabRadar (buggy phone app, bulky form-factor, trigger and battery issues, etc.). Getting people like the readers on this forum to get one and start talking positively about it, is your best and only hope for retaining at least some significant percentage of your market share. The Garmin is (a) feature rich, (b) very flexible, (c) reasonably priced, and most importantly ... (d) available.

You need to make a bold move now, or you're going to be crushed by the bull-dozer that says "Garmin" on the license plate. By the time the LX ships and is in a position to gain some momentum, this race will be over, and you'll never catch up.

Here is my suggestion: While the final version is waiting to ship ... and for ~90 days thereafter, offer a "Trade-In/Trade-Up" special to existing LabRadar owners, and allow them to pre-order / purchase the new LX with a "Rebate" program. Sell the LX at the standard price, and between now and, say, June 1st, that sale comes with a rebate coupon where once your new LX arrives, you send in the coupon with proof of LX purchase, and your old LabRadar, and get a rebate check for (I'm suggesting) $150. If you did this, you'd get the LX into the hands of literally thousands of existing LabRadar owners, you'd "freeze" at least some percentage of the Garmin target audience, and give yourself time to catch up.

Or you can do nothing, and allow the Garmin Xero to literally "steal" your target market. Choose wisely, your next steps. If all you do is finish the LX and put it out there for normal sales ... you're gonna get creamed. (Don't say we didn't warn you.)

Sincerely,

An Existing LabRadar Owner that would buy an LX if it had an early-adopter rebate program.

I was asked to show my DL today by the Sprint store

I went into the AT&T / Sprint store where I bought my Android phone because it has a cracked screen and will no longer light up. The young lady tech asked to see my ID to verify who I was to see if I had insurance. No big deal.

Meanwhile, this piece of excrement that was found in Biden's diaper and whom he made into his Attorney Gen., says voter ID's are "Discriminatory, burdensome and unnecessary."

IOW, whats the whole point of flooding the country with illegal aliens if they can't vote, amiright?

If there's one positive thing Mitch "the Turtle" McConnell did was to keep this pos off the Supreme Court.
