Happy Holidays everyone! Against the better judgement of my wallet, I'm embarking on putting together a 300BLK build in a Cadex Dual Strike Chassis. I am blatantly stealing this idea from a guy's build I saw on reddit a while back. It will have a Q Full Nelson direct thread can and a 8.5" barrel. I don't have an action for it yet, but *think* I want to use a standard Rem700 223 SA. It seems to be easier to find a Rem700 in 308 than it is to find the 223 version. Is the only difference the actual bolt, or are there other differences? I ask in case I ever wanted to "upgrade" to a 8.6BLK barrel / bolt down the road, depending on how development for the cartridge goes. Thanks!

Anyone else think a 38 prc would be a good idea? I currently have a 300 win. Sometimes I wish I had a bit more oomph, but not as much as a 338 Lapua - something like a 338 win mag, with maybe a little more horsepower.

I like that you can mag feed high BC bullets from the PRC series without issues - only downfall to my 300 win is that the magazine smashes the metal tips on the rounds it holds and seats the bullet into the case deeper, essentially making the gun a single shot, which sucks. Spending thousands on a 300 PRC setup to correct that doesn't seem worth it to me.

They are coming out with modern versions of all the other calibers. My fingers are crossed that they do it with a 338. Anyone hear anything? Thoughts?

A low use factory nitrided short action Defiance Ruckus Tactical right hand bolt action. Defiance calls this a medium action I believe - it’s R700 short action length, cut to feed from AW and AICS magazines and accepts prefit barrels. Action features standard bolt face (.473”) for .308win and 6.5cm type cases, has an integral recoil lug, 20 MOA integral action rail, and comes with the “tactical” bolt knob. It has less than 200rds fired with at least that much dry fire.

$1300 plus shipping to your FFL, so long as UPS doesn’t give me trouble and your FFL accepts from individuals. If they don’t, my FFL will transfer but the cost is increased. Everything shot fine except both of the IMI loads. Lots of FTF due to light primer strikes I guess. All had an indentation, but no bang. I tried to re-fire them all and 2 of 5 or so did fire the 2nd try.
I assume they just have harder primers, but is there anything that can be done? Like a stronger firing pin spring?
Adjusting the TriggerTech Special to a heavier pull wouldn't help would it?

I am looking to make payments on a barreled action, unless it is a steal of a deal. I will consider a tikka prefer long magnum, 7 mag etc or a good varmint cartridge. I am fine with a factory rem 700BA, or cheaper custom build or maybe just action. 22 creed, 25x47 or creed maybe cheaper 6.5 creed or 6.5 prc is preferred for a short action, other than that looking for a medium or long.
