So I've been interested in grabbing a Tikka for its Pre-Fit capability, but I've got a few Remington 700s and Bergaras which brought me to the question:

Instead of buying a Tikka, could I just have a barrel spun up by my smith for the 700's or the Bergara and swap them at my bench on their respective receivers as I please?

This guy posted a proof carbon 6mm arc barrel for $350. I told him that I would take it, and he told me that 3 other people wanted it and I must send the money immediately. Red flag.

Then I went back to look and the sales post was deleted. Red flag..

Hey! I have a Bergara B-14 that is currently in 308 Win and want to rebarrel to 7mm-08 AI. If I do go with 7-08 AI it will be a preferred barrel blanks 26" 1:9 twist with .060" freebore. My max Mag length is 2.860". What velocities do you think I should expect using a 140 Berger vld and a 150 eld x while still being in mag length? I heard around 3100 for 140 and 2850 ish for 150. Will a AI be inherently more accurate? Good idea or bad Idea? Thanks!

Just purchased the new Sig p365 spectre comp and this is the quality control they let out the door I ended up with. Nicks in the barrel and something like lead or solder globs stuck like a bitch at the crown. WTF, below is their reply. Just pathetic, IMO they should be begging for it back to make it right.

This appears to be removable judging by the pictures and would not affect the performance of the firearm. I would suggest in the future that you use 0000 not 000 steel wool when cleaning finished metal as it’s a bit less abrasive. If you would like to send it to us for evaluation, I can still set you up with an RMA but I have had confirmation from others that they believe you should still have a perfectly functioning firearm.

We can discuss this further and your other questions when you are free.

Wanting to replace the rusted out firebox on a Brinkmann offset barrel smoker. Cooking chamber is still in really good shape.

Put out an ad on Facebook looking for local welders/fabricators and had one guy reach out to me.

I asked for something similar to the below, maybe in the 18x18x18 or 20x20 range and was quoted "somewhere between $250-300." No specifics discussed on steel gauge etc yet.

That smoker wasn't much over $600 10 years ago so I balk at that figure a little, but if that's reasonable, and dropping that much now can keep me running for another 5 years or more, I'd probably say that's good enough.

Has anyone got experience with McMillan firearms?

Not mcmillan stocks, but their firearms extension. I'm trying to buy a part for a rifle that a gentleman has agreed to hold for me for a couple of days whilst I get info from mcmillan. I sent a few emails asking about it, then used their online contact form, then went onto Facebook. All with the same question. No reply from email and I've been left on read on Facebook with no reply. What I had noticed though, was in my Facebook and email message history, there were a bunch of unanswered questions when I was trying to order a tac338 back in 2018. (Never got a response so never bought the rifle)

I'm guessing mcmillan firearms is now out of business and I'm just behind the times, but can anyone confirm this? Their website is a bit of a dog to navigate. There's no parts or accessories section so I can't even just ad to cart and try my luck.

The gentleman is only holding the rifle for 2 more days for me so I'm getting desperate
