Battle Arms Development

I hope your rifles are great. I'm very happy with my BAD ultralight build, using a Craddock Pangris Mod 2 6.5 Grendel. With some Smoke furniture and a NOX, it is noticeably lighter than most of the other rifles I've owned moving around at night. As the man said - you're gonna carry it more than you shoot it.

100 Gr Hornady ELD-VT caught him in an unfortunate but immediately effective way.

Most 'gun' state in the USA?

I have a friend traveling from the UK to Vegas to get married. I bought him a pistol class with a range out there I get on with, and he declined because he wanted to 'stay away from guns' in the post Charlie Kirk situation.

I thought to myself 'good luck pal, you're in the gunniest state in America', then wondered how accurate that really is.

I'm just a dumb Brit, so I know a little bit but not much depth. Off top of my head, I thought AZ was pretty free when it comes to guns - is full auto still legal there? (edit it's Nevada, of course it is! Duh)

Then I thought maybe TX because FREEDOM and so on.

Then I thought TN has a pretty rich history in firearms too.

Does MA win because of the armoury?

So, which state is the most 2a, and why?
Tell your friend, who you have so generously purchased class time, that shooting a firearm, being educated on the proper use of a firearm or merely being in the presence of a firearm will not magically transform him, or anyone else for that matter, into a deranged serial killer.

All live hostages released! DJT now addressing the Knesset

Imagine being a stupid fucking liberal now, who protested the war in Palestine/Gaza, and your worst foe, someone who you despise to the bottom of your heart just ensured that it's over. Something that your lib heros couldn't achieve (biden/Harris).

My gawd, the mental gymnastics they have to go thru now has to be amazing
It's more important to them that they have a position (anti-Trump) then any sort of consistency, like they probably don't even give a fuck about Palestine/Gaza deep down, it's just the current thing.

Barrels these days for a off the shelf build

I’ve built a lot of Grendels and been through several 6ARCs. I’ve had better luck with the Grendel.

I used to hand load a lot but the older I get, the less time I have for it and would rather just shoot factory ammo. I still have a bench set up but I like shooting more than reloading.

Out of all the Grendels I’ve built for myself, family, or friends, I’ve only tossed 1 barrel that I couldn’t find a factory load that shot well. 95% of them have shot the factory Hornady ammo ranging from acceptably to really good. I’ve used stainless Proofs, Precision Firearms turned Criterion, Craddock RTRs, Rainier Match, AR15Performance, Wilson Combat, a Precision Firearms Bartlein, a Satern cut rifled, Aero/BA, Triarc’s, and an ER Shaw. The ER Shaw was the only one that wouldn’t shoot any of the factory ammo I tried.

I’ve tried 4 6ARC barrels and given 3 of them away. None of the 3 would shoot any of the Hornady ammo better than 1.5moa 5 round groups. The only one I have left was about to go down the road but shoots the 80grain Vmatch stuff really well so I kept it. I’ve given away a Proof stainless, Rainier Match, and a BA barrel. I still have a melonited Rainier match. Maybe I’d have had better luck if they’d all been top end cut rifled tubes.

Good luck with whichever you choose. They’re both fun rounds in a gas gun.

.308 Winchester

I only get better groups from the 155gr ELDM's when the bullets were loaded >0.050" from the lands.

If you have to use ELDM, get better brass.
If you are going to keep the brass, use better bullets (Sierra, Berger) and start annealing the cases
For hunting purposes I think the only other bullet worth trying would be the 155TMK.
The Sierra 155gr Palma MK has a good BC and should be easy to tune.
I tend to stick with Hornady as they're the only bullet I've been able to consistently buy in the past few years.

I'll try different brass first as that's fairly easy to try.
They will look at different projectiles, dies, annealing, etc.

Why are AR15s so difficult to shoot for the average shooter?

So how many store box ammo guys Chrono the loads?

It's on the box 👍
I chrono some but not all. I will tell you this much, there was some ammo pushed by lots of people years ago, two big brands actually and one makes the other under a different name. I won’t say who, but I will say lots of the gun gurus and internet gun salesman pushed the shit out of this stuff. I decided to buy some and unfortunately, I bought more than I care to admit without testing it for myself because it was supposed to be the best and blah blah. It turned out to be the shittiest ammo I’ve ever shot in my life. I’m still sitting in a couple hundred rounds of it. Run it through several rifles and tested with multiple chronos just to see if it was an equipment issue. Nope. Just shitty ass ammo that many heralded to be the best and with a premium price to boot. Don’t trust the gun bunnies. Buy a few boxes here and there and test for yourself.

With all that said, I’ve gotten some lots of other manufacturers that did great. Bought more and got a different lot and it wasn’t all that great. Only true way to know and get the best is to learn and roll for yourself but there are some calibers that I just don’t think is worth the time. Store bought is good enough.

Impact 737R vs Terminus Zeus

just be warned barrels ordered from expertvoice can also take up to 6 months to be delivered. That’s not always the case but it happens.

You’ll be happy with either action. Both companies are great too. But the I would get the impact. More prefit availability, they work with Grayops mags, you can actually take the bolt apart.
