Cheap scopes Leupold mk4hd vs Nightforce SHV?

Definitely the more reliable Nightforce I wouldn't trust a Leupold on a hunt

For a hunting rifle I'd lean more towards reliability, so NF if I was given those two options. Another option to heavily consider would be Maven RS1.2 2.5-15x44 as well. It would probably beat out both those other options handily.
I'm leaning towards the SHV. I have an old NXS on an AR that I like. I do want to clarify I am looking at the SHV not an NX8/ATCR ect. Would the shv hold up compared to the mark 4 durability wise?

Plane crash At Reagan National

I can't speak for Army aviation, but I've never seen a world where an evaluator/line check airman/whatever acting as SIC or PM is a passenger incapable of taking the aircraft from a PIC in order to maintain safety of flight.

"I have the aircraft" means exactly that.

Again, at some point an instructor/evaluator has to do instructor/evaluator shit.
Understood. I was picturing a scenario where they BOTH think they're right...who gets the aircraft at that point?

Also, given your statement, doesn't that indicate the CWO2 didn't actually think they were going to collide with another aircraft?

My point was that the SIC doesn't take the aircraft from the PIC UNLESS in extremis...not because he thinks she was failing her check, basic airwork, etc. This would be particularly true knowing IF he took the controls, he would have to fail her check. If the 4 previous failed checkrides is true, it's obvious there was undue influence on getting her to pass.

I think this all leads to my previous assertion that this VIP-flying squadron had a culture of 'make it happen' driven by the "important" people they were tasked w/ shuttling around DC, demonstrated by the "request visual sep" for a beak-to-beak procedure at night. The crew were locked onto something, but it obviously wasn't the correct one. Add in the sloppy basic airwork and you have a collision.

I Don’t Need A Man!

For those of you who are old enough to remember it. This is a list of characters from the, "Andy Griffith Show".

Barney Fife
Opie Taylor
Aunt Bee
Thelma Lou
Helen Crump
Ernest T. Bass
Floyd Lawson
Otis Campbell
Andy Taylor
Goober Pyle
Gomer Pyle
Howard Sprague
Charlene Darling
Eleanor Walker

And do you know why ALL OF THEM were all so happy, in almost every single episode of that long running show?......BECAUSE NOT ONE OF THEM WERE MARRIED!
Excellent observation but I have to disagree a little on a couple of those names.

Ernest T. Bass was only happy when he was throwing rocks in windows. He was hopelessly and madly in love with Charlene Darling and wanted to marry her. Charlene, on the other hand, wanted to marry Andy until there was a "bad omen" that Mr. Darling saw and called the shotgun wedding off.

Charlene ended up marrying someone else. We don't know if they lived happily ever after.

If I remember correctly, didn't Andy and Helen eventually marry? Again, we don't know if they lived happily ever after.

Because we don't know if the aforementioned couples lived happily ever after we must assume that they didn't.

There was one episode where a married couple were always fighting. Andy and Barney did their best to get them to love each other to avoid DV charges. In the end, Andy figured out that the only way this couple could ever be happy was if they were fighting.

So, in general, I have to agree with your premise.

Plane crash At Reagan National

No PM should be accepting things that the PF does not agree to/see...
Agree completely.

However, given that specific unit, their mission, and the rapidity with which the "maintain visual separation" request was made following the initial traffic call, I suspect there was strong institutional/operational culture (techcedure) there.

Plane crash At Reagan National

I'd also say since the evaluator was PM and was the one who asked to maintain visual separation from traffic....failure to do so is ultimately on HIM.

No PM should be accepting things that the PF does not agree to/see... Until we get the transcript from the helo CVR we wont know what their conversation sounded like.

ATC: "call the airport/traffic in sight"

PM looks over at PF for a thumbs up or something that they see what was asked.... or asks PF "do you have the airport/traffic in sight"... before responding.

I have had PM's make calls on airports or traffic that I, as the PF, hadnt/didnt see. We had a conversation about that after the fact to make sure the person flying the airplane actually saw what was needed before making that call. I know I wont call anything without the PF saying it or giving me a thumbs up when I look over.

NOW obviously there are cases where say the airport is off one side or the other and the other guy physically cant see it, but generally there is a quick conversation about that and the person who see's it calls it in sight.

Another SIG 320 fires while holstered- SIG agreed to buy all the departments 320s back

For more than 35 years, officer-involved accidental discharges with Glocks and Glock-like weapons have been blamed on a lack of training or negligence on the part of the individual cops. What critics should be addressing instead is the brutal reality that short trigger pulls and natural human reflexes are a deadly combination.
^^^^^^
I don't know if it's something that is really happening or not. I'll just say that there's a lot of videos of people "accidentally" discharging their weapons to say that it's the fault of the gun 100%. Add in the factor that a majority of accidents happen due to being comfortable in routine situations and safety is no longer priority. That happens in every job from mechanics, electricians, fishing, logging on down.
To blame it on someone else is common in today's society that lacks personal responsibility. The largest section of any phonebook was attorneys. Dewey Sue and Howe.

Greatest Post Apocalyptic Movie of all time ?

Wish A. American (pin name) ever gets off his ass and moves forward with his movie project about his book series "Going Home". If one is ever made about the book "One Second After" or the "Dark Road" series they would be good as long as they're true to the books.
Too funny! I was just reading this thread yesterday and Fox news has an article this morning about "One Second After" moving to the big screen!
