Man Executed By Firing Squad Was Conscious For Up To A Minute After Bullets Missed Target, Lawyers Say

this VC had taken part in killing this general's family i believe. was during Tet. correct response.

i start to think that a lot of the blather about cruel and unusual centers on the idea that only the gov should be allowed to kill. allowing the gov to kill is 2 edged but it's obligation (IMHO) to provide justice enters into the discussion.

USSOC is, right now, relying heavily on folks who were in SF in the 1970's and 1980's to 're-teach' skiills that were lost while SF was used as Hyper-infantry and door kickers in the GWOT. An entire generation has somewhat... lost... the skils for force multiplication, working with indigenous personnel, working covertly and silently... and other skills.

Not a 'slight' against the community. As some of the traditional skills were not needed during Afghan/Iraq. But there are lot of folks in their '60's and even '70's being called back in an instructor role to help folks re-learn core skills.

Hey, gotta do what you gotta do. And the requirement in the 2000's was to be hyper infantry and door-kickers. Not a slight. It's a compliment to the community that they can adapt on short notice. But now, the requirement is to go bacl to roots. And betting that the folks who are worthy will adapt real fast. The ability to be an 'expert at becoming an expert' remains a number one critera for being... part of the tribe.

Clickers

Watch the "does your die fit your chamber" and the "clickers" video, they sort of go hand in hand.

I call "clickers" when the base of the brass isnt getting sized enough to fit the chamber properly and is beyond the spring back threshold so its always jammed. Primarily due to a mismatch between sizing die and chamber, doesnt take pressure to induce clickers, its more material.
It sounds like you dont have "clickers" so much as you have just a simple case of over pressure rounds swelled up in the chamber. Yes the base swelled but also everywhere else contributing too. Same symptoms, just a slightly different cause. One will be present on subsequent firings and one wont.

So when you size, make sure that the .2 base line on your brass is going down at least half a thou from the sized dimension. If it doesnt at all you may have a case of the clickers going forward. A different die that has a smaller base dimension by a thou or a "small base" die thats a couple thou smaller and maybe that puts them back small enough to cure the clickers. Only one way to find out and thats... to find out.

Ruger STAR 308 ?

giving some thought to a n AR10 weight will matter. have had a few, including a rogue that was disappointing at it's price point. i have looked at evrything i can fin about them on line. all of it is rather mixed regarding reliability.
i am just looking for input from people here on what they have seen from owning or watching them in use. acccuracy? esp with M80 which i know is never the greatest ammo but about the lowest cost, which matters.

Pope Death Watch... WITH A PRIZE!!! Quart of Maple Syrup to the winner!

I said he has many Names and Titles given to him.. I didnt respond to the Yeshua or YHVH as you might be wrong on the interpretation but again... Doesnt mean anything to the Discussion unless it does?D

Isaiah 44:23-25

King James Version

23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the Lord hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
24 Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

Pretty plain to me....Where was Jesus and the Holy Ghost? Remember there wasnt a body prepared yet.
and the HOLY GHOST Overshadowed Mary and she Conceived.... The Father is the Holy Ghost so we can Drop the Spirit part now because GOD is a Spirit and he alone rules...

So again Where is the Father?
First the discussion of the name is very important. People like to appeal to names for their argument. You yourself did this saying Jesus is the revealed name of God that was somehow kept secret as you mentioned Judges (again the Hebrew word there is not secret as the KJV says, the Hebrew word mean wonderful, so now there was not some name of God held in secret). It is an indisputable Hebrew linguistic fact that the name of the God of Israel in the OT is YHWH (no it’s not YHVH as there is no V sound in ancient Hebrew, V’s are only in modern Hebrew. A minor point but illustrates an unfamiliarity with the original Hebrew) Also it is an indisputable linguistic fact that Jesus means YHWH saves. You can’t make an appeal to some kind of linguistic argument about the name of God, then just ignore it when it has been refuted. God has a name in the OT, it is YHWH and it is made very clear because he is set up as superior to the other gods of the nations in the OT. Also there is zero linguistic evidence that God’s name was held in secret. The KJV is wrong there in Judges and does not translate the Hebrew correctly. Also everywhere in the KJV it says all capital LORD, that means the Hebrew is YHWH the divine name

Second your selection and interpretation of the passage of Isaiah is cherry picked, incorrect, and ignores numerous other passages. But that is common in false teaching, pulling one verse completely out of context and using it to try and justify your theological position. This is eisegesis and a perversion of the text

Accuracy International AT-X

Can anyone tell me what is the biggest barrel profile I can run in my ATX? I am using the full top rail and internal weights.
Im unsure of the internal weights....however there have been posts here that say you can't run a 1.25 barrel in this chassis. Assuming the internal dimensions are the same between the at-x and the aics at-x chassis, this doesn't hold true. I have a at-x aics chassis with a vudoo in it with a 1.25 barrel and full bridge, you just have to put the bridge on the barrel before placing it into the chassis. The tabs that secure the bridge are too thick to just place the bridge down into the chassis from the top. Then again, if you go this heavy on the barrel, you may not see the need for the internal weights.

Angle shooting

OK, I think I have it. Range finder gives me hypotenuse and also shot angle, so I should be able to do the math and come up with actual distance gravity pulls on the bullet. Thanx.
I know a ballistic calc is the easy button, but I like to know the long hand too.
Are there any apps that can "feel" the angle of the phone?
Some large cliffs - yes. I came up on a moose while elk hunting. 254 yds away but perhaps a 70* down angle shot. While moose are tall, from that angle they aren't fat. All I need to do now is draw a moose tag.

Ruger Wrangler would go great with that rifle……

Then a Henry lever .22 as he gets a little bigger.
(Or a Marlin 39 trapper model)

AMHIK 😉

No sense waiting to get him his first Barrett... Becasuse he will be old enough to handle it before you know it!

Precision Rifle Gear New Athlon Rangecraft Chronograph-Garmin Xero Killer?

Initial out-of-the-box impressions. This is based on firmware v1.40.61 and app v1.0.23. Most of this is a review of the app since I haven't taken it out to the range yet.

• Good case. Nothing exotic, but very serviceable and will protect the unit when it's bouncing around in my range bag. Will be on the lookout for a screen protector, though.

• Battery came with ~80% charge, so it was nice not to have to charge it before I could play with it.

• It weighs 4.4 oz according to my postal scale. Garmin says the Xero weighs 4.1 oz.

• The included tripod is nicely solid and weighs 4.5 oz.

• The manual first recommends going to Settings to setup the device, so that's what I did.

••Date formats on the device only support DD/MM/YY or MM/DD/YY. Would prefer to have YYYY/MM/DD as that can be more easily sorted. It does support 24-hour time, thankfully. The rest of the settings were straight-forward.

•• User manual tells you to download the Athlon Ballistics Lite app, but at least in the Apple App store the app doesn't have "Lite" at the end of the name.

••• The first thing the app asks you to do after you launch it is to sign in, but there's no button or link to create an account and it won't let you submit a username / password that you manually type in. I had to choose the "Sign in with Apple" option to get past this screen. (There's a "Sign in with Google" option, too, but I didn't test that.)

••• Once signed-in you are taken to the Calculator page. At the top are fields for selecting a rifle and bullet profile. Tap the rifle field, then tap "+ New" to create a new rifle profile.

•••• Profile names for bullets and rifles are limited to 15 characters, which is not nearly enough.

•••• For a rifle you input the twist, twist rate, scope details (height, MOA/mil, V&H click values), and then reticle details (FFP/SFP, min/max magnification, and reticle "validitty" (sic) for SFP reticles). There's a reticle library, but understandably it only has details for Athlon reticles.

•••• For a bullet you can specify profile name (again, max 15 chars), length, diameter, weight, G1 or G7 BC, speed, zero distance, and zero offset. Right under the profile name field are four orange buttons for cartridge library, G7 library, G1 library, and pellet library. These save you from having to look up your specific bullet's characteristics, but you still have to give all that data a profile name.

••• Now that you've created your rifle and bullet profiles you can slide the distance, wind speed, and target angle ribbons to your desired values. As you adjust these the large elevation and windage fields at the bottom of the screen update with your current solution.

••• There's also a wind direction circle with a pointer you can drag around to indicate which direction the wind is coming out of. Unfortunately it doesn't snap to any increments, so the O/C amongst us are going to be challenged to get precisely 0°, 25°, 90°, etc.

••• There's a reticle you can tap that takes you to another page showing you where you should hold and what your point of impact will be on a variety of targets (deer, coyote, 10" circle, IPSC, etc.). I don't know that I'd ever have the time to reference this on a moving target, but it's still kinda neat.

••• The chart button takes you to your ballistics chart. In there there's a Settings button where you can show/hide a bunch of different columns of data. Unfortunately the app only displays the chart in portrait view, so you only get 3–4 columns of data visible at a time and you can't set the column order. It'd be nice if you could rotate this into landscape mode and see more columns of data at once.

••• Lastly, there's a weather button that takes you to a weather page where you can tap another button to fill in your local weather. However, it won't automatically fill in your altitude (even though your phone knows that info).

••• To connect the app to the Rangecraft, tap the hamburger menu then select "Connect Device." Tap the "Pair" button at the bottom of the screen. Then in the Rangecraft go to Settings->Connection->Pair Phone. You should get a confirmation PIN and your devices will be connected. If you power off the Rangecraft it looks like you need go back to the Connect Device screen in the Athlon Ballistics app and tap the "Pair" button for the devices to connect again, but you don't have to be in any particular screen on the Rangecraft when you do this.

••• Note also that you'll get a spurious "Please enable and connect to Bluetooth" error message at the bottom of the Connect Device screen in the Athlon Ballistics app after they connect.

So to sum of the out-of-the-box experience, it's a little rough. The paper manual has some errors and is pretty brief. The Athlon Ballistics app also has some errors, odd limitations, and quirks. However, if the YouTube reviews of the chronograph performance are to be believed, the Rangecraft is a pretty solid little chronograph for significantly less than the Xero. Fortunately software can be updated and I think all these little issues can be pretty easily ironed out.
