Is it time to panic about my twist rate being too fast?

From your mouth to God's ears! I'm not having the problem now, but I am shooting in the apparently soupy Virginia air, not the whispy Montana stuff.
You’re thinking about this the wrong way though. Your slightly high SG will result in a slightly higher BC, the lower air density is going to further increase performance.

You have been sold some type of ballistic whiz bang calculator which is probably a good calculator, but wherever you learned to use it gave you bad info. Overspinning bullets really isn't a thing until they start blowing up. Air density has nothing to do with this and I don't really know where you got this idea.

Don't worry. You will be fine.

Put the credit card down. You’re fine, forget about it. The only problem with “over spinning“ is bullets failing mid flight. If you’re not having that issue, you are fine, and a lower air pressure isn’t gonna make bullet failures more of a thing.

Gas block interference 0.002, too much?

View attachment 8772606

Read the last part, you're saying this is not the case? The schematic/cross section that SLR has for their .750 gas block does not denote that it is a clamp on or set screw. Unknown if they have the same cross section. $130 is a big investment only to find out it doesn't fit.
As I said, the AGB's I mentioned will fit inside Geiselle & BCM & naturally SLR's..................I know that because I've used them there. I have never used an Aero rails in 30 something builds so I cannot guarantee, but both Geiselle & BCM are small.

But the original post about interference on a non-clamp GB is telling.

YMMV

Put the credit card down. You’re fine, forget about it. The only problem with “over spinning“ is bullets failing mid flight. If you’re not having bullet failures, reduced barometric pressure isn’t going to cause your bullets to fail. I bet that bullet would hold together in a seven twist, it’s a rather stout projectile.

What the Jesus Fu#ck, Hegseth?

Lee, like most at the time, viewed their state as their country.

I think it was Shelby Foote, brilliant Civil War historian, who pointed out that before the Civil War people said "The United States Are" and afterwards said "The United States Is."

Pretty sure Lee had great trepidations. And understood the odds. But honor was to his serve his Virginia and Virginia joined the Confederacy. He was a great patriot... son of a Revolutionary War hero "Light Horse Harry" Lee who served with Washington. But when push came to shove, it was his state he supported.

Yamamoto had allegience to his Emperor... a God-Figure. And knew how badly the war would go. But he did what Generals and Admirals do. "Say 'no' twice and then salute."

Both guys were great patriots in their own way. And paid the price with infamy.

In many ways, the US Civil War was a continuation of the debates between the Federalists and the Antifederalists. While the federalists won out, you can thank the Anti-Federalists for the protections from the federal government enshrined in the Constitution.

Funny, I attended one of the most liberal colleges in the country (The University of Texas at Austin). Except for my Civil Liberties professor, who couldn’t see center from how far left he was, I’d have to hazard uneducated guesses at the political leanings of of the professors whose classes I attended. Well, there was a pot smoking hippy that taught biochem. He may have been a libertarian. Maybe they’re just sneakier in the school of Natural Sciences.

But back to the topic at hand. This is one of those stories that I’d classify as fake news. Not that it is false. But that it is not noteworthy. As has been mentioned, cross training with foreign troops has been going on for forever. And, foreign militaries having a physical presence in the USA has precedence.

It is a “gotcha” story, like when the media reports on how expensive it is to protect President “whoever,” failing to mention that protecting President “whatchafuck” was equally costly.

Here is the situation - I live in Virginia but am going to hunt in Montana the first week of November. I am using a 300 WSM with a 1:9 twist and handloaded 175gr Federal Terminal Ascents going about 2900. I had thought about stability before and looked up Montana's average November air pressure, plugged it into the bison ballistics calculator, and things looked good.

Turns out where I will be hunting the air pressure is a good bit lower, and the ballistics stability calculator is now showing the bullet significantly overspun (Sg 2.65). Is it time to panic? I could do a quick order barrel from PVA, but would need to do more load workup. I could hope I can find some factory loads that work, I could be freaking out over nothing.

What should I do?

Savage 3 year update

Four year update.
.243 enhanced Predator is the same rifle, why mess with perfection ?
.20-250 enhanced Predator has a new Boyd's Pro varmint stock with a nightshade tiger stripe pattern and a Jard trigger set at 1-3/4 lb.
Both are boringly accurate.
The .243 is topped with the RIX L3 and the .20-250 sports a NocPix Ace S60R now.
This pic was taken after I did some accuracy and function testing with part swaps ( Bolt, Bolt heads, Barrel assy's) between the rifles.
All good to go.

In fairness, Harvard was somewhat different in the 20's-30's. But yeah, he knew better, but like Lee allowed his allegiance to trump reason.

Popcorn time.
