Precision Rifle Gear Sig KILO Warp WMLRF

It mostly fits with what I've experienced shooting in the field.

But a guy has to be somewhere that terrain allows him to get an accurate picture of the wind during that first third. Part of that is being able to get a good measurement (not being blocked by terrain, or standing somewhere that's funneling the wind in an inaccurate speed or direction, etc.), and part is determining how much the bullet is actually exposed to the wind by the terrain along that first third of it's flight path.

And terrain down range can make bullets do funny things too.

I use the kestrel and gun number in conjunction with conditions down range, and sometimes with other tools like the Windy App.

But that's just my 2 cents.
Sorry, it’s clearly impossible for you to be a good shooter. @Maurygold has made it very clear that you should only read wind and using any other tools or data means you’re a moron. Have you ever seen anyone using the Windy app at your local Whole Foods? No? I rest my case. 😆

Quality BB gun?

Story time. Maybe other geezers can relate.

I was 7 when my dad brought home the BB gun I had wanted for months. I still remember that late afternoon in the back yard, which abutted a deep woods where we kids played. My first target was a pine tree. Dad was right behind me so he could reign in any errant gun movement.

That's all I remember of the first evening. The best part of the story comes the next afternoon after school.

I came in the door already begging my mother to let me shoot. No, no, said she, you have to wait for your father to come home. O please Please PLEASE, I'll be CAREFUL! Dad told me what to do!

She gave in. She said, ok, but you can only have 10 BBs. Then you have to wait for your dad.

So I took those 10 precious BBs out with the rifle (lever cocked, probably a Daisy). I put some green Army men on the little mound of dirt - my first BERM! - like Dad had showed me. Then I backed up and carefully picked off the plastic menaces, taking my time to make my 10 BBs last.

Then they were gone.

And I stood there looking at that pile of dirt and thought... yeah. I dug into the dirt. In moments I had my BBs back.

I shot all afternoon with those 10 BBs.

Looking back, I'm sure my mother was watching carefully. I'm surprised she didn't call me in... but she didn't. She let me have my fun.

That was over six and a half decades ago. The first of a million days afield.
I really enjoyed reading that.
I don’t remember a specific day like that but I got my red Ryder bb for a birthday, a year or two later for the daisy pellet pump on Christmas or a birthday, a year or two later was the marlin22.
I do remember my cousins having tons of the little 100 pack sacks of bbs and me never having enough and having to mooch. Now that I’m typing this, maybe there’s where my accumulation of ammo/reloading thing started…
Anyways, my favorite bb times were up in the tree house in town hunting the garden stealing birds- or the robins when they would come through and cover everything in poop.

Question about potential throat issue on brand new Accuracy International replacement barrel, pic's attached

I just received a replacement barrel for my Accuracy International AT-X from a reputable vendor. I have not shot the new barrel yet, or even installed it.

The original barrel is well over 3,000 rounds, while it is still shooting acceptably well, I realize I'm on borrowed time as I shoot a lot.

I hate to be "that guy" with a borescope, but I was looking at the leade/throat area, and it has some marks where the rifling begins that concern me. I'm attaching a photo below, there are virtually identical marks on all 5 groves. I don't recall these marks on the original barrel. I also have a newer Proof Research Barrel that does not have any marks like these.

I really don't care as long as the barrel hammers, but the factory barrel set a pretty high bar, it has historically shot in the .2 - .4 MOA range with handloads for 5 rounds at 100 yards.

Are these marks in the rifling a cause for concern? Do you think I should contact the vendor? Should I just shoot this thing? What would you do?

It's an $1,100 barrel using a Bartlein blank, I just don't want to be disappointed with its performance and be stuck with it if there's an issue.

Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

I thought i answered the first couple of responses but i guess my phone is sucking today.

The Manners compact stock does have an optional cheek riser (see photo) but it's just a formed piece of carbon. It's held on with 10-32 screws and probably won't take a huge side load going with extra high rings. I have some more spacers on the way and can test that theory when they show up. But like kiba said that might put the recoil pad to low on my shoulder and most definitely on my kids shoulder. I don't have a 34mm scope with a 56mm objective so i might have to use the one i have with a 50mm objective and do some math. Usually i would use a geissele mount but this project would benefit from rings.

Tac Ops Rifles

Any of you ninjas 🥷 in the Phoenix area have a R700 TacOps? I wanted to check it out and maybe shoot it just to shoot it. I’d let you shoot a KMW-OPS 51 in exchange.

These really are awesome rifles and I can’t afford to collect them all. I blew my wad on a lifetime supply of ammo and XL Condoms.
Why don't you really tell everyone the truth my Tac Ops NINJA ? You bought every frigging Tac Ops blow up doll ever produced. The hot Asian one with big tits small waste and long hair.
The black model that looks like michelle obama aka big Mike Robinson the redneck model with stretch marks around her mouth and don't forget the Italian one that when she it gets wet, it's actually Olive oil.
Lmfao 😁😆😀

If you were in a monogamous relationship, you wouldn't have to buy your boyfriend's condoms.:D

Boeing down in India

Makes me wonder if the crew failed to set the power before 80kts and when the auto-throttles go into HOLD mode.

no clue... as you know in the airline industry you never get the whole story. you just get a reminder to "adhere to policy/procedure" and then a blurb of what said policy/procedure is. I have questioned our procedures team on this and received a grand total of nothing back.

Vortex Razor HD Gen III 6-36x56

For me, the problem is at 800-1400yds. With a larger caliber, the rifle shifts a bit. Sure enough, when it settles down, the tree always blocks the puff of dirt.

Never had any issues there either and it’s easier out there with the time of flight. Have shot them out to a mile with my Gen II and the tree 7C. If the dot or hash blocks the puff of dirt then you know where it is right? The dots or hash marks aren’t that big.

Manners Night Stalker

Anyone able to get a picture of the barrel channel without the EFR? I know Manners says up to M24 barrel contour but I have a Proof carbon bull blank that I would love to use. I don't mind taking some sandpaper to the stock I just want to make sure it's going to be feasible before I drop the coin.
My buddy was shooting one at an NRL hunter match, pretty positive it was a full bull from proof. I will see if he has pictures

2403-yard shot on a can of red bull, sounds like a load of bull.

Deer and elk are easy to kill with a gun. They're pretty easy to kill with a modern bow. People kill them here with an atlatl, which is a shitty weapon if there ever was one. They're not armored at all. They're soft and their vitals are not well protected. Hit them right and they go down.

I'm not going to argue with you, but I've seen them stacked with .223 and .30 subs. But honestly, if they run off and I can't find them, oh well. It's a deer. Waste bugs me, but I'm not going to loose sleep over it. I was given dominion so I don't have to worry so much or wring my hands over how someone else hunts. Where I live you have to keep a sharp eye out so they don't ruin your vehicle.

I guess I get it if you're a dirt worshiper who says a prayer over the carcass and thanks the great spirit, but to me it's just harvesting venison. If I'm picking apples I try not to drop any, but if I do I'm not going to worry to much about it.
