Proof Research 22ARC barrel issues

I had 5 22ARC builds in play and in the break in cycle of about 75-80 rounds per barrel, saw the fall off in accuracy and serious gas port erosion in all 5. To their complete credit, Nick replaced all 5 after their own examination and got them back to me pretty quickly. Happy with Proof customer service and support.
Last I heard from my customer, they’re very happy with accuracy at distance. As they spend a lot of time out in West Texas, haven’t had a chance to scope barrels, but will next opportunity.
Hope Proof does resolve this long term, as other than this issue, very pleased with 6.5GR/CM barrels I have in play personally and with aforementioned customers.

Area 419 Tactical One-Piece Scope Mount

I have three of the Area 419 mount. They are excellent. No issues whatsoever. They make the fasteners in house.

ILya
Not doubting you, but having spent many years in the fastener business, this would really surprise me.

There are several companies that make quality fasteners, and who do it much cheaper than they can be made in house. Camcar-Textron and SPS-Unbrako are just a couple off the top of my head.

The world lost a literary giant today.... RIP Frederick Forsyth

Not only arguably the creator of the techno-thriller Genre, but the absolute master of it for almost 60 years.

My first thirller was "The Odessa File" which I read when I was about 12. And have been hooked on books by Forsythe, Higgins, Clancy, Larry Bond and others for my whole life. My night table is always stacked.

From his earliest short stories to The Day of the Jackal and The Dogs of War... to his last epic novel... noone did it like Frederick Forsyth.

RIP, sir. The literary world is a poorer place today.

PS. Michael Crichton could also have claimed the title when it comes to creating the techno-thriller. But Forsythe was the master when it came to the espionage/military side of it.

Primary Arms Optics - Discovery 2025: PLx Compact Long Range Scopes Unveiled

Just a purely theoretical question, but if the community response to their initial reticle offerings was not as positive as they might have hoped, what would be the chance they could modify same before initial delivery to market-the thought that a minor delay for better market acceptance better than revision post first release.

Rifle Scopes New S&B 10-60x

wooferocau,

Have you noticed any difference in the ease parallax adjustment/ability to get ride of parallax from the 10-60 vs 5-45, people keep talking about loses in performance with a 9x zoom scope vs a 6x, I wondered if parallax was one of those areas?

They are almost 6oz different in weight, for the FCSA 50BMG competitions that does not matter in the classes I am shooting. For F-class the 10-60 is where I need to be for weight. I am tempted to put a 5-45 on my 50BMG....I would get one with .05 clicks and the reticle most similar to the 10-60 reticle.

Anyway really interested to hear your thoughts on parallax. Thanks ahead!

So Cal Ice protest.

These folks should be put iin the same cells as the J 6 people...

With one difference. Very speedy trials and very long sentences. Not in some nice cozy federal country club... but in Guantanamo. This is terrorism. Domestic terrorism paid for by terrorists.

And their sentences should begin after they have spilled every drop of information they have. This should be unravelled just like Al Qaeda or Hamas. With the money trails followed to the top and those people elminated. If they are Natural Born US Citizens, they should be prosecuted as we would prosecute anyone who went to Afghanistan and fought with the Taliban or who joined the Red Brigade or the IRA.

If they are foreign-born (including naturalized citizens like Soros...) then their citizenship can and should be stripped. And they should be prosecuted and jailed like foreign terrorists they are. That is if a finding doesn't render them eligible for a drone strike or other direct action.

Natural Born UC citizens (despiite Obama droning Americans) have rights that include being exempt from being assassniated by their government. But that doesn't mean they are exempt from serving life in prison after due process. Applies to governors, mayors, congress-critters, Senators, Generals, POS Bureaucrats, Intel officers, Business giants...

Remember the last 4 years "Nobody is above the law." It was endlessly trumpeted during the Trumped up anti-Trump Kangaroo courts. By the very people who now think themselves and their calls for nationwide insurrection "above the law."

There is lots of room in Guantanamo. And we can always reopen those nice internment Camps Roosevelt invented. Long enough to build deep, dark walled prisons where insurrectionists can live out the next 40 years.

Best Premium Hunting Scope

Reviving an old post, but hoping you see it. Considering a ZC420 MPCT1x vs S&B Ultra Short 3-20x50 P4FL, and in a similar boat of wanting premium FFP but hunt with it too. If they were roughly the same cost which would you recommend?

I'm biased, but there's no way I'd grab some scopes at their current tariff pricing. I expect some to go up a little, but some are going up a substantial amount.

Does durability correlate with glass diameter as well? I.e. would you expect a Nightforce 1-8x24 ATACR, and/or a 4-20x50 ATACR to be substantially more resistant to shocks/drops than a 7-35x56 ATACR? Or (given what I assume would be similar care in hand-fitting in the turrets and lenses across both ATACR products) would you expect roughly similar shock resistance from both of these optics?
I would expect the latter... it's more about the quality of the parts and assembly that play a bigger role than the size of the parts.
