YOUR REFRIGERATOR NOW REQUIRES A SUBSCRIPTION

This is almost as bad as the binding arbitration clauses. You buy a fridge, and opt to get it delivered. The delivery company removes the appliance from the box, and installs it. Unbeknownst to you, you've agreed to the clause because it was printed in small print on the box, the box that you never saw because the appliance was removed from the box before it even was removed from the delivery truck.

This world gets more irritating by the day. To buy my wifes new car we were required to agree to binding arbitrage, the EULA for facebook, instagram, pretty much every useful website in the country has a binding arbitrage agreement. Rather than not creating a shitty product, they fall back on binding arbitrage where they tip the scales in their favor buy hiring a arbitor that rules in the favor of the client, rather than the complainant, regardless of the facts of the complaint. IIRC LG created a linear compressor for their refridgerators, that are known for being pieces of shit. There's a pile of people that want to start a class action lawsuit, but nope, they're stuck going to an arbitrator who's definately not impartial at all, and pretty much tells 'em too bad.

Newsom plans to steal the House

Weren't they bitching about Texas redrawing some districts? So they bitched about it in Texas, and then did it themselves? Don't know why i'm typing this like i'm surprised. The hypocrisy of democrats doesn't surprise me anymore. I just wish a lot more of them would get aggressive terminal cases of cancer, or self delete at record numbers. Maybe we should start a new trend on tiktok, called the room temperature challenge.

Thoughts after vacation

My best road trip ever, and I want/need to do it again. In 2019 I drove to Alaska with a camper and my daughters. Spent 6 weeks just seeing that part of our world. Best trip ever. We left June 6, so I think we were a little early and beat a lot of the tourists, but I didn't feel like it was crowded at all. Unfortunately my girls grew up, oldest will be 21 in January, youngest turning 17 soon. Oldest is well on her way to starting her own life, she'll be engaged soon, her boyfriend already has the ring. So i'm thinking that i'm going to start putting money aside so I can maybe take my grand children on that trip.

There is so much to see that's not a national park. National forests have loads of land to hike on, waterfalls to see, trails to experience, and they aren't crowded because they don't generally have a paved road to get to them. I love fishing the alpine lakes for trout, sure they're small usually, but I don't care.

California can fuck right off, but I tell you, if you haven't seen the redwoods in person, they're really impressive, and you won't regret making the trip. Drive the PCH north out of Monterrey. If you're a tent camping type, in 2017 we drove all the way up to seattle along the PCH, and we tent camped most of the way.

There's a lot of adventure available out there, and no tourists to mess with.

One thing i'm kinda looking forward too with our girls being older, is the wife and I can start vacationing when everyones kids are in school. Should really cut down on the bulk of the tourists. I want to go back to Yellowstone again, but outside of the busy season, so maybe we can actually get around without getting stuck in a 3 mile traffic backup because someone wants to stop on the 2 lane road because they see a squirrel. Most of the people that go to the national parks in the summer, are fucking cunts. Everytime I see someone gored by a bison, i makes me happy, and sad that they didn't die in the process. The only good cunt, is one that gets a nomination for a darwin award for dying is the dumbest way.

Alaska is incredible. I know you said Fuck Canada, and I agree. However we drove the dempster north to the arctic ocean, and the drive was amazing. I should have stopped to take more pictures, but the first 250 miles or so the weather was shit, and then we got into the northwest territories, and the gravel road got really nice, and the scenery was amazing.

Sorry for kinda hijacking your thread, I really miss taking trips like the ones i've done. I want to get back to doing them.

Read between the lines boys & girls

Legal systems are meant to turn everybody who isn't a part of the "elite" into passive sheep who can be abused and robbed at will. This happens to all civilizations and is why old and decadent empires are always overrun by younger and more vital barbarians. I don't think I'll live long enough to see this in the US but its coming.

More fun with 308 Win

The first I know that this has been tried was on the 277 Fury that sig announced in 2019. I don’t know if the idea was tried previously.

I worked for a tool manufacturer and I personally made a pile of tooling for these in 2018/2019. We sent the tooling to a subcontractor that was making the stainless heads that ended up at sig. there was more than one shop making the stainless heads, all trying for a contract I’m sure.
Made for 5.56 and also 7.62

I have never loaded them or tried them. But would like to someday. Super cool idea in my opinion!

And seems Sig has a contract to make a ton of cases for the .mil.

Issues in 2022 or so.

The idea is not exactly new. All kinds of stuff have been tried back to the early days of breechloading. (Snider Enfield rounds!). And it’s been a common thing in artillery cases.

What “is” new are the manufacturing techniques and metallurgical advances that are making possible stuff like this. And the ability to scale it down to small rounds economically.

I’ve brought up the idea of 3D printing powder in cases before, which could allow combinations of fast and slow powder and even create explosive “lenses” in cases. Essentially progressive ignition and burns and focusing the ignition away from walls and into moving the projectile. It’s all theoretical, and would require more than my “scratchpad” stuff. But as the saying goes, there is a pony in there somewhere.

IMHO Pressure is the next frontier. Better case technology is a big step. SAAMI better start making some higher-rated testing machines soon!

I’ll do some more digging tomorrow’and give this thread a detailed read when not on this silly phone. But this has me lying awake thinking of possibilities!

Sirhr

Ukraine war Bullshit.

Germany, 1930 country fucked up by Versailles treaty young idealistic boy joins the elite WaffenSS in hopes of restoring national pride. 1945 “same” now man is a bona fide war criminal part of a legally criminal gang and free to be executed or tried or put into work camps until dead.

Thats why many people and countries have instituted or have a saying God, family, country in that particular order and if country conflicts with first or second the fuckit and if others dont think the same also fuck them and one has whole moral right to ignore such fight or go against it.

Ukraine war Bullshit.

Well.

Mixed thoughts about conscription. I volunteered 4-6 months after Vietnam era deadline.

I'll just say conscription, to aid a foreign country is one thing to go all contietchus be about. Not mine.

But turning your back on your own country, well ---- fuck me.

I get not wanting to die for the likes of Z-boy but it's / maybe was, your Damned country.

Should have taken care of Z-boy yourself.
