How dare you?

A battery recycle plant in Fredericktown Mo burned in October last year. This is about 50 miles from where I live.

Pistol ar....lvpo vs red dot

We have a high school with hallways as long as 250 yards. Picture you at one end and badguy rounds the corner at the other end durring an active shooter.

Assuming you're an LE responder...you have about a fucking nanosecond for such an end-to-end open shot and the thing about this kind of stuff is that motherfuckers tend to move...

If you're anyone else, odds are you're gonna take fire from geeked up LE's.

In my LE career of being employed by an institute of higher learning (and many of those on swat in a sniper/observer/dm/sharp/whateverthefuck), I can imagine many scenarios in a schools/large buildings as this was my specialty... this scenario you give is highly unlikely to say the least.

Kahles vz ZCO

So what I got from this thread is: Carbonbased thinks ZCOs are good, but doesn't own one. He wants people to know about past problems. He is upset that CSTactical won't talk about or acknowledge past problems, and CSTactical hasn't yet directly addressed Carbonbased questions.

Is CSTactical avoiding answering Carbonbased questions on purpose? Or is he not understanding his questions?

Can we talk shooting technique?

don’t remember which video, but both are good.

And as said by others, for $20 a month there is a ton of excellent videos right here in the forum. Do a month or two and see what you think. Its worth it.
I just watched these, and have been trying this bridge technique. It's not easy for me to change what I used to do when I would "lay the rifle on the bag" but I do believe with reps it's making me better.

Precision Rifle Gear Bipods?

First, I got a Harris (added Pod-Loc + RRS ARCA adapter + Hawk Hill talons).

Lots of people said my Harris was inferior and I needed something better/fancier, so, so far I’ve tried:
Atlas CAL (hated it, too wobbly and hated having to load it)
Ckye-Pod (hated it, too wobbly and hated having to load it)
TBAC (hated it, wobbly and hated having to load it)
Accu-Tac (tilt tension sucks, clunky to deploy)

So, still run the Harris 99% of the time (and borrow a Ckye-Pod 1% of the time for the 1% of the time I need to).

IMHO everyone should get a tricked out Harris first, and then maybe something fancier for certain things too if needed down the road… but a Harris is enough 99% of the time for most peeps and for bench/prone stuff many of the $$$ ones aren’t an upgrade really.
It's astounding that Harris doesn't offer a tricked out model.

Many many ople are happy to pay full price for a Harris then buy 3 or more additional items to trick it out, surely they could just offer those additional items as standard.

6.5 Creedmoor

Any good 130gr loads? I have some 130 SMKs and I am gonna try 41.5 H4350, which was good with some 140gr bthps. Not after screaming max speed. A Good medium speed, accurate load for PRS.

How high have you gone with 130s and H4350?

I love the 130s. They just flat out shoot. However, I use the berger AR OTM hybrids. I've taken them up to 2960 from a 24" barrel with no signs of pressure but I never actually settled on that. I was incrementally going up to see where I found signs and never did. I backed down to 42.5 of h4350 and got 2850fps.

My new barrel is at 2850 but with a much lesser charge. I can't remember of the top of my head but I think that's a good speed.

Why modify the turret to be non locking

I have been left off target when a non-locking turret was spun accidentally. For me, locking and practice is the way.
Left as in windage turret spun?

I've had turrets spin multiple times at a match and in training, every time it was windage.

I 100% agree windage should be locking if not capped, but elevation I prefer non-locking.
