Suppressors Abel Theorem Brake

Took my two similar weighted 6.5CM rifles out today to test. Both are sub 12# and only 4 oz from each other. Both have Proof carbon barrels at 26”. I used the same 147gr hand loads.
The rifle with the Theorem-S and brake definitely shot flatter but I felt like the recoil was a bit sharper on the shoulder. Is punchier a word?
I compared it to a well used Omega with the 3 port RecoilX brake. That setup felt a bit softer (slower impulse?) but wasn’t as “flat” as the Theorem. The target remained in view but shifted more. I know it’s apple to oranges. I shot both rifles off a barricade and bag without the bipods attached. I had light shoulder pressure on the stock. So what do I think? I like the Theorem brake.

Reloading to accuracy on bolt action

Nobody has asked, "What ammunition have you tried?"

I'm thinking about the guy at my "home club" who had a shiny new CZ 457 MTR .22 and asked me if I could help him (I was zeroing my Vudoo after an optic change). "I thought these things were supposed to be accurate," said he. "I can't get better than an inch and a half at fifty yards."

So I walk over to his bench, and there beside his nice rifle is a big ol' Remington Bucket O' Bullets. Sigh.

So short version is I gave him a box of SK Standard+ and five minutes later he was shooting dime-size groups.

OP, what ammo are you using? If it's bulk white-box 150 grain ball, there's you're problem. I'm not a .308 guy at all, but if you're running cheap ammo, try something like Hornady 168gr ELDM or Federal 168gr SMK Gold Medal Match.

I know nothing about that rifle, but even cheap bolt-action factory rifles are usually capable of sub-1-inch 100-yard groups with half-decent ammo. If your rifle can't do better than 1.5 MOA at 100 with the aforementioned brands, something is wrong with the rifle or the shooter. Handloading isn't going to fix it. Handloads might reduce a 5/8" group @100 to 1/2 or 3/8, but it isn't going to shrink a 1.5+ inch group to anything near the 1/2 inch or better groups a rifle that expensive should produce with a competent shooter running it.

Good luck.

Dan Bongino Warns We Cannot Run A Republic Like This! After Disturbing Discoveries

I wish more people would understand this.
Folks always make the excuse about "just following orders" as if that somehow excuses all the evil they do.
you would think Nuremberg would have discredited that excuse. wrong. most common reason used by all gov enforcers at all levels. that excuse always works to deflect accountability.

Reloading to accuracy on bolt action

Back in the day, I used to hand load for a .308 I had and I used to set the overall case length to .010 over the chamber length so it was setting case length and seating when I closed the bolt.

Thanks

I'm assuming you mean that you jammed .010, in that your overall cartridge length was .010 longer than when you measured a specific bullet to the lands??? If you were jamming the case mouth into the chamber, well, that would be a new one for me... but I haven't seen everything yet.

Handloading will always beat factory ammo... as long as the dude doing the handloading is a sticker for attention to detail and not careless. Some dudes unfortunately have no business around a press. How much your particular handload will help regarding accuracy depends on a lot of factors. I've even had a barrel or two that almost shot best with factory ammo. I've had other barrels where handloading cut groups in half or even more.

Grand opening, hallway 10meter indoor range.

So my spotter, who is also my room mate and (bed hog) & I have not had a call out, neither Federal nor criminal, in a while.

And you know how it is to have the itch.

And rifleman such as yall's know the imperative need for frequent rimfire therapy.

Seeing as how the vehicle is down/getting a new tranny, (no wheels at the moment) and it's 181* outside @ 214% humidity, we held a quick meeting.

We unanimously voted 2-0 to open & launch the "Hallway Indoor Shooting Range," in our condo, here in the 'plex!

The trusty tape measure witnessed we could get a range of a full 10 meters, ha! Classic indoor air rifle, off hand, competition range.

So out in the garage an old ugly worn pine 4x4 post has been floating around. We cut it up and screwed the pieces together to make a 1 ft. x 1 ft. x 1 ft. Cube back stop. Tally-ho!

I had my eyes and ears, but dip-wad of course couldn't find his ear-pro. We improvised.

I keep telling him if I ever find a better spotter that's available, I'm done with his jerk self.

I mean it's like at my every stinking shot he's got some rash of crap for me:

"don't let that miss rattle you, this next shot, if you'll, like, use an eyeball or something, and actually look through the scope maybe, this next shot will be better, surely- I can feel it in my tail."

Or something like:

"ok, that last shot, surely you were randomly experimenting with using your thumb to pull the trigger. Yeah, don't ever do that ever again not even once. You're embarrassing us."

And that one time he exclaimed "hurry, hand me the radio! I'll call down to the pitts and tell them you got in a hurry on that one and chambered the round backwards, = flyer city. "

Total prick. But I cant find a better team mate.

Tonight I just kept saying "shut up mother Hubbard and just call the correction."

(And what's with the peeing anywhere/everywhere at the ranges?)

Such has been our relationship the last 2 years.

Anyway- I drug out the super cool Rascal

An an old box of CCI SUB-SONIC that had a bit of black mold inside the box and white lead salts on the projo's.

We set up a bench to first see if the ammo was actually able to put shots touching at our formal 10meters, before He & I duel'd it out, off hand.

Happy to report that crappy ammo and the Super Rascal would make bug holes despite the powdered out white lead salts and all. Some of the bullets looked like old, dug up Civil War slugs, lol.

After bench testing the world's worst rimfire ammo in Condo Hallway Range of The 'Plex, I was about to put away the bench rest set up- when my spotter, his name is Sgian-Dubh- made the fatal mistake.

He said "if you ever tell any one what I was using for ear-pro just now, Im ripping your throat out in your sleep."

Well, Im THAT GUY. Tell me what I had better not do, or threaten me, or dare me, and something in me MUST then do it. Even if I know I'll quadruple highly regret it later. So I snapped a Pic. Ha!
Smart mouth, captain comedy spotter man.

And I won the 10m offhand competition too. Ha!
Mr. Mouthy, a sore loser claims I have an unfair advantage: opposing thumbs.

Whatever, Mother Hubbard.

He said "it's called off *HAND,* idiot."

Boo-hoo, Mother Hubbard.

Big fun all around with me and my spotter.

Round 2, tomorrow!
