I had to send a Khales in recently.

You still go through Swarovski USA, but depending on what works needs to get done, it may have to go to Austria for repairs/warranty.

Mine happened to go to Austria. I think turn around time was 4 months or so. Swarovski was okay to deal with, but communication was fairly infrequent over those 4 months - patience is key.

My scope was fixed free of charge, I was only out what it cost to send to Swarovski. But the wait times means you will be out of a scope for a bit.

Overcooked Brass (Annealing question)

Can someone who knows more about annealing than me give me some guidance?

I've watched a Eric Cortina's video with his benchsource annealer and he like to see a slight glow in the brass to let him know its properly annealed. I can get the brass to glow with my flame annnealer but I feel like it was in the flame too long. I backed it off a couple seconds and landed here. Did I over cook my brass?

Gonna be honest…I’m of two minds on this one. I’m happy that our Capitol is getting cleaned up, and as a Federal district it kind of makes sense to use the Guard or hell, even Active Duty troops to rein in the utter lunacy and crime that’s prevailed there for so long.

But I hate that it took this step to clean up DC; more to the point, I hate the precedent.

And when I hear talk of doing the same in other Libtard-run shit holes like Chiraq, NY, and Portland, as much as I’d love to see them cleaned up too, the thought of doing under the guise of a Federal Police Force frankly scares the shit out of me. Not a far leap from Federal Police to a Police State.

Fuck that noise.

Still contemplating a savage 10fp in 308.

Back in the late 90s in my early days in the army in purchased a savage 10fp Le with hs precision stock and had a super sniper 10x on it. It was close enough to my m24 that I could practice on my own time and really loved that rifle.. I wound up selling it after my daughter was born and always regretted it.

Over the past 4 years or so I have been planning on getting back into the sport and really wanted another one, but common sense told me there was better. About a year ago my custom Zermatt tl3 build was completed in 6.5 and then I picked up a new Remington 700 police in 300 wm.

My local shop still has the new old stock savage 10fp in hs precision stock in 308 and I'm still contemplating purchasing it. I can justify it and give it to my daughter so she can learn long range and shoot with me she is 25 now.

Should I fulfill the urge and longing for rifle I had and loved, or should I pass? I know I can buy a bergara and it might be a better rifle and have more aftermarket support, but you know.. Price is 950 without the optic they threw on it.

I assume that little hinged divider thing can be moved along the corrugated metal for different length cartridges? That would help explain why the spring leafs are so short.

Weird that there's not a single mark on it.

I tried searching for answers a little earlier and got nothing. May try again tomorrow. Can't believe it's a one-off, somebody must have made a few of these and sold them.

Yes it's somewhat puzzling as a standard military item would only need to be made for one cartridge.
It's a pretty interesting way of making the an adjustable cartridge holder but why?

California Magazine Ban Update

A while back California banned standard capacity magazines with no grandfather clause. California gun owners fought back and are now on our second trip to the Supreme Court to find out whether it is constitutional to ban magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. The Supreme Court chickened out on the Snopes case a few months ago on "assault weapons" in Maryland and we are about to see if the court is also comfortable with magazine bans and confiscations.
