Bottom Metal for Coup de Grace Build

In what way?

Also, I just got off the phone with someone at Hawkins who cited all kinds of fitment issues with the CDG receiver. Surprises me because ARC recommends their bottom metal. 🤷 I did see a recent thread about problems feeding 7mm-08 specifically in their proprietary Hunter magazines.
If you don’t mind the barricade stop, I would absolutely recommend the MDT bottom metal instead, and I own both. The only reason is they have the adjustable mag latch, which is necessary to get optimal feeding for most (not all) rifles. I used it for a terminus build recently, knowing it was a 3 lug action and was able to easily adjust the latch to get the mag feeding smooth as silk.

BUT, as I said in my original post, the Hawkins has worked perfectly for me.

Geissele Super Duty or LMT MARS L-5.56 16in

LMT Lower, White OAK UPPER, 20” Wylde chamber, Geissele National Match Rail, UBR Gen 1 Stock.
Geissele National Match Trigger. Hi-Lux Gen1 scope. I have the Gen 2 scope sitting in the box to try.
The shooters like the weight of the GEN 1 UBR and White Oak had MagPul make a special run.
ACCURATE!!!! HEAVY!!!!
Using Bob’s Sled, it’s single feed device, drop round in chamber hit either dusl control mag releas, fire, bolt holds open for the next round.

I do love the white oak uppers ( I have 3 of the national match uppers all with Bartlein barrels). Spectacular accuracy ❤️.

510 Whisper Build Advice (Stock/Bottom Metal/Magazines/Twist/Barrel Length)

The reamer drawing I have has the chamber at .539, so probably less than that. You'll probably have to figure out what works with your chamber/brass/dies.

I appreciate the suggestions 45-90! I would be ecstatic with 200 cases per hour, as right now I'd be lucky to do 10. I think my biggest mistake is trying to bottom out the mandrel and move the carriage to a stop rather than feeding it with the tailstock. I will probably just try using a reloading press shell plate mounted to the tailstock to make removing it while running easier for me.

Elk Hunting Rifles, What are you Using?

15#s with the bipod.
I had 15lbs before I edited it haha. I figured 13.5 with no can, but that must be a heavy barrel.

6.5cm from last year….14lb 12oz. Heavy enough that I’m building a 6.5prc that’s 4.5lbs lighter for my wife to shoot (because I have to carry it 😆)

Curiosity Test.. Brake VS No Brake and Expander VS No Expander

Wondering if running my brake had an effect on accuracy and also whether using a neck expander or not effected accuracy. My data set is very small, I understand that, but was wondering what the results might indicate... Results are 5 shots each at 100 yards.
Equipment:
Tac Ops XRAY-51 .308, ZCO 5-27 scope, Alpha brass, Berger 115 flat base target bullet, CCI small rifle primer, VV N-135, 44.0gr. 2.190 ogive, @3025 fps. SAC modular sizing die, 334 bushing, 80 degrees, overcast, no wind.
Results:
Left side is no neck expander with 4 port Hawkins brake and with no brake.
Right side is using a 306 neck expander with the same brake and then with no brake.....

Assuming all things being equal... Not using the neck expander with No Brake appears to be the way to go. At least with my equipment. 5 shots measuring 0.097".
Tiny data set, but interesting to me.

Zogbots brings in APC and murder man over tall grass bylaw

I never mow during a heat wave.....or a cool spell. Fight me code enforcement.

I do know a lady who went ape shit on code enforcement trying to make her cut her sunflowers. It's been years since they have said anything to me. I was just chopping 6 ft wild lettuce off the ally side of my grape vines. Anything I don't want to mow now is a crop, a cover crop, a trap crop, a compost crop, or an ornamental. 🤣🤣

Maybe there just ain't no narcs in my hood.

That makes more sense, I found the correct one now.
