Rifle Scopes Tract Toric ELR vs Burris XTR IIIi NOW With some Burris Pro and now some Zeiss LRP S3 also!

Did you have any updates on any of these scopes Rob?

Did you narrow it down to a few favorites or have you kept everything?

I'm really close to buying a Burris XTR Pro, I really like the reticle, FOV, and toolless/removable turret.
However all the reviews on the Zeiss, Element and RZR G3 6-36 make it seem like the better way to go, the Burris doesn't get much love these days.

I have the XTR Pro, LRP S3, and Razor G3. My favorite is the Razor for sure, but all are very serviceable on a hobbiest target/PRS comp rifle.

The XTR Pro is pulling up the rear on most things, but not by much. The contrast isn't quite there with the others, but the clarity is. It has a warmer look to it, and a better reticle for trying to punch parer vs the Zeiss IMO. I got mine when you could grab one for $1,400 - 1,500, and at that price range I think they are a fantastic optic. Not at $2K+ though.

For the LRP S3...I've griped about the lens coating and bloom when the rising/setting sun is directly behind you enough already. The reticle is a bit loud for my liking as well, but is very usable and reticles are personal preferences anyway. Otherwise I think it rules the roost of sub $2K optics still...but I wouldn't pay full retail of $2,200 - 2,400 to get one now.

The G3 Razor is very much comparable with the ATACR. You'll notice a difference between it and the previously two mentioned scopes above if you have them next to each other, but there's not all that much of a difference in glass. Mechanically, I like the detents on the Razor a lot more. Over Memorial Day you could get one for $2,400 again, but that only happens once or twice a year. Depending on what you qualify for... you can get an ATACR for less money the other 361 days per year, and that's what I did for my last purchase a year ago.

So my choice would be made on available budget (provided I could wait for and find the sales):

- $1,500 - XTR Pro
- $2K - LRP S3
- $2,500 - Razor

Sorry, no experience with the Element.

Kestrel Meters Ballistics Official Thread

I bought a Kestrel 5700 Elite Ballistics without link. I bought the USB data transfer cable, but it is not letting me update the firmware to 1.53. I have the Kenstrel Link software on my PC. For some reason when I search the firmware update download it is only showing me 1.49. After downloading that and going back to Kestrel Link, it is telling me there is no firmware update available.

Vision Covert Chassis Feedback

Not bad for it's intended use, light, compact and options for a stock of choice. I had one for a Tikka, the problem was with the magazine latch. Instead of using a cross pin to hold the latch/spring in, they used two small opposing set screws in which loosened required the action being removed to get the magazine out. WTF they choose that method is beyond me. I did not touch those screws for what it's worth---

Oh-and the "MLOK" slots are deep to where any covers out there will not work

“Texas Plinking” 1 MOA/1K Yard Challenge Videos

That’s me! I’m shooter #2, Scott with the Tikka. Wind was 15-20 mph that day from about 8:00, gusting to 25+. Brandon is a great guy, his mom is a hoot. Cool range, I enjoyed the challenge. Other shooters were good guys. First guy’s zero was low, he fixed it then hit both plates before he left.
Nice shooting considering the wind! Normally I wouldn't even make the trip to the range if that was in the forecast. I'll be making the trip there in a couple of weeks and hoping for a calmer day!

SAKO SELECT PROGRAM (TRG 22 & MORE)

Pretty cool, but I had to deal with Beretta warranty on an s20, and the experience was horrific and never resolved. I love my TRG, but after that I'd never buy another product where I might have to rely on Beretta for customer service. Sako should be ashamed to put it mildly.

First Beretta tried to have me send my s20 to the wrong repair site (one that didn't even service rifles). Then it was returned saying they could not replicate the issue. The issue continued, and became wide spread (poor mag feeding is all over the forums and reviews on the s20) Beretta CS finally admitted they knew early generation s20 mags were defective, but Sako had not approved them to replace magazines for customers, and that Sako would release mag update kits at a later date. Beretta's resolution was to offer me 10% off buying the updated mags at MSRP in their webstore. Fast forward 18 months, they still have no kits, won't replace the mags, and Sako is non-responsive to any inquiries on the issue aside to point USA owners back to Beretta.
That's crazy. I had no idea berreta and sakos CS sucks dick. You'd think they would be top notch.

So who had Chosen people Flambeau?

And this morning, they are reporting he is an illegal who came in on a tourist visa under Biden, then appliied for a work visa and overstayed...

Nothing to see here, just another illegal Aloha Snackbar burning Americans and being all anti-Heebie....

Meanwhile, the lefties in Boulder are saying that the "marchers" deserved it and provoked the attack by peacefully asking for the other terrorists to release hostages.

Wonder what the reaction would have been if he had turned some flamers into, well, flamers.

Hummm... support gays... support Muslim illegal terrorists... their heads would explode.

Not long ago this was a nice apartment complex. Now it's non English speaking and the landlord is getting more rent per unit.
When he "gets" it......... :(
When the landlord does get paid, it's with our tax dollars.

Case cleaning

I've been wet tumbling with pins for probably 10 or 12 years. I deprime and then a squirt of Dawn and Lemishine, 15-20 minutes tumble. Dry in the dehydrator. Never had an issue and it's quick. I can do several hundred at a time. I lube the inside of the necks and mandrel size the inside of the case neck now but never had any issue with brass longevity or finshed cartridge runout even before moving lubing and mandreling the necks.

I would wet wash with pins/chips every time if it wasn’t such a massive pain in the ass to separate pins or chips from the brass. I don’t care about the necks because that can be cured by Henderson/Giraud/Hornady clone trimmers. I have paid help that can handle that brainless activity.

Instead I just wash without pins, then size and dry tumble to get lube off. They’re almost as pretty and that matters to me. I’m vain.

Customer Accuracy Expectations

I use the SD X and SD Y to confirm my tuner settings. If wind conditions are reasonably light SD X and SD Y will be approximately equal with a good tune. At least nearer equal than untuned. Again these are 40 shot data sets. I assume this addresses your concern.

It is enlightening to look at the difference between SD X and SD Y and then calculate the SD MV that it would take to create it. That can be compared to the chrono SD MV.

But in the end it still always comes down to missed wind calls.
For a retard, would you please explain the above?
