Replace AICS Spigot with Rail

Thanks @samb300, just ordered.

Suggestion for you...

There's enough people out there with older AICS stocks that would love to see a night vision bridge, as Badger has stopped making them.
I think with some careful machining, you could modify an AICS chassis to work with the AT version of the spigot, then use the factory AI AT night vision bridge. Unfortunately I don't have any plans to revive the spigot project and add a NV bridge to it.

Trump is back…the “Now What” thread

Trump has been a numbers guy since the 1960s, attending prestigious schools that had high academic requirements, and driven by a father who had very high expectations of his children.

He also attended Wharton school of Business, and worked real estate with his father on the weekends in-between classes.

He has overseen massive and ambitious construction projects, renovations, and reclamations of historic properties in New York, requiring levels of risk, executive management, personnel selection, employee hiring, training, retaining, and firing that precious few people will ever understand.

On top of that, he understands mass media and public perception better than any US politician in history, with Ronald Reagan being the closest 2nd place you will ever find.

So it’s always entertaining to see people think he’s dumb, uneducated about finance, or doesn’t know what’s going on with markets.

I watched some 1970s and early 1980s interviews with him that I hadn’t seen in a long time. He was saying the same things back then, how the US is being taken advantage of by foreign countries in trade, and how our politicians just let it happen.

He has been very consistent on this issue for generations now.

Trump is back…the “Now What” thread

There is no simple answer. It is different for different goods, just like US tariffs are different for different goods. None of it is 39%, much less is that an average. They range from 1% to as high as 25%.

I think the point is being missed here.

It is not 39%! Nobody seriously contends that it is.

The President's administration came up with a formula having nothing to do with tariffs and then claimed it is a tariff of 39%. Now everybody is running around trying to justify that lie. Why? The administration could have just come out and said what this 39% number represents and why it is important instead of lying about it.
The point is even if it's 1% what are we charging them?
Something tells me zero until now.
I don't care how accurate, I care if it is one sided deal.
Everything else is smoke and mirrors.

WTB Zermatt arms action wrench

You just use a regular 3/8 drive extension like from a ratchet and socket set. No need to buy their full kit. I have used their heads for tikka, ARC, Falkor, Zermatt, and Kelbly.

They work great, an action wrench is not a complicated or complex tool so don’t over think it.

Here is a picture of the origin head mounted on the extension I use.

M40a1 build guide

View attachment 8658706
2/23 Marines SS Plt. in Morocco. I wanna say maybe 2004 or early 2005? I know it was pretty late to still have these in inventory and all the fellas had heard about the mystical A3’s 🤣 decent couple shots of some of the equipment also including some makeshift tripods. Don’t recall if the bags were Tactical Tailor or something else.
It wasn't common, but there were some M40A1's that stayed in the Corps for quite a while after the M40A3's and even the M40A5's were the standard USMC sniper rifle. I was in Fallujah, Iraq feom 2008 to 2009, and we had an A1 as a regional asset that stayed in Iraq. When we ripped with 1/7, they received our regional assets like the 4 XM3's and the single M40A1. So, that A1 was still in active use (one of our older team leaders immediately grabbed it and used it during our deployment) until about 2010 when 1/7's deployment probably ended. I have no idea what happened to it after that.

So, there were a few A1's still in use when A3's and A5's were the standard USMC sniper rifle. Thank you for posting those photos, it's pretty rare to see photos of A1's in use after the A3's have been around for many years. Hopefully more photos like these will surface over the coming years.

M1917 vs M1903

The stock on the P17 sucked. The C stock on the 03 match rifles was much better. Even with a cock on opening conversion the P17 action was clunky and not nearly as smooth as an 03 action. I built a hunting rifle on a Winchester P17 action in .308 Norma, with the cock on open conversion, custom stock and lots of polishing inside I still prefer the 03 action. I have a Remington 30 Express which is a commercial version of the P17 and it’s an okay rifle to hunt with but nothing special.

Why are liberals so ugly?

From an evolutionary point of view, beauty and an attractive body shape are two markers of physical and psychological health, along with the concept of “good genes” and a healthy immune system [1]. Thus, beauty and an attractive body shape reflect the concept of a healthy physiology that is free of genetic disorders and infectious diseases. In this context, Wald [2] observed that thinkers and artists throughout history have believed facial beauty and particularly facial symmetry to be associated with psychological characteristics such as honesty, reliability and trustworthiness. Gordon et al. [3] found, among adolescents, that physical attractiveness was associated with better social integration, less social stigma and higher academic attainment. Likewise, Kirsch et al. [4] concluded in their review of the associations of neuronal processes with human faces and bodies (both static and dynamic), that specific neural areas are responsible for the processing of beautiful faces and bodies. Thus, Kirsch et al. [4] offer a neuronal explanation as to why humans want and like symmetric and beautiful faces and bodies. It follows, therefore, that concepts of beauty should also be found in countries such as Iran, even though for cultural and religious reasons, large parts of a female’s body are covered, including scalp hair, which again from an evolutionary point of view is considered a signal of attractiveness and physical health.

interesting point about muslim women. how do men check them out in the tents they are required to wear? as far as Persian women i have known, they were mostly DRs so smarter than average. looks waaay above average, bodies and faces. several said that they left intending to not go back ever as they didn't want to wear tents again. their Islam was very minimal if it existed at all.

Iron Bridge Armory (IBA)XM3 build not clone correct

Has the XM-3 been out for 20 years? I thought it was 14 years; I have a 2011 Remington Defense brochure with its picture in it and I thought it was the first year for the XM-3. That's another reason I don't buy or hire clone builders, too expensive and too much headache. I'd clone it myself as close as I could if it was out of my ability then so be it, it's close enough. That way I'd know exactly what I am getting into.
Yes, the IBA XM3 has been around for about 19 years, or 20 years if you consider the planning stages before actually building the rifles in 2006. The problem is looking at the Remington brochure. Remington isn't the original manufacturer of the USMC XM3 sniper rifles, they were originally made by Iron Brigade Armory (IBA).

Sometime around 2011 (and possibly a year or 2 earlier), Remington decided to start making their version of the original IBA XM3. However, their version of the XM3 is quite different then the IBA XM3 that was made for the Marine Corps. So, if you're interested in military XM3's, then disregard anything that Remington has put out for literature and actual rifles.

TLDR: The IBA XM3 has been around for 19+ years.
