Night Vision WTS: Flir SXR Clip On (GP) Full Kit + Luna Trades $4.25k

Rare unit that is half PVS27 half PVS30 custom built by FLIR for a contract a while back (these things are awesome and very user friendly). Having owned multiple PVS30's and recently a CNVD LR, this is the best of all worlds and is the housing I would use were I to do another tube swap with Jay (just not in the cards for me). Optical collimation like a PVS30, easy to reach focus like the PVS24LR / PVS27 and the ability to handle real magnification / gather lots of light.

Took this as a partial trade, looking to get some cash. When these were available, they were listed at $5900 but I'll send this one to you for $5750 $5,000 $4250 shipped and I'll include a LUNA 3 and SF dual pressure pad (will add pics of that soon).

I spoke to Jay this week and he has some really nice tubes ready to find a new home!

Thunder Valley Precision 1 Mile. Is it lasered at 1760 yards?

Drove 4 hours to TVP Sunday along with my 338 Lapua Magnum sporting a 30 Inch Bartlein and SilencerCo Big Bore Harvester Suppressor and Vortex Razor HD

I shoot this rig monthly at Hillside's 1000 yard range. My handloads and factory ammo has been chronographed with Magneto and Radar.

I last shot this rig past 1000 yards last August at Camp Atterbury Long Range Shoot where I scored hits on Range 3 from 1000 yards to 2000 yards at 100 yard increments.

My load last summer at Camp Atterbury was Virgin Lapua Brass, 300 SMK, 96 grains of N570. Speed of 2900 fps.

My dope from Camp Atterbury was:

Temp: 75 Degrees
Elevation: 600 feet

Applied Ballistics App matched up with my actual dope.

This load is a 975 yard zero

1700 yards - 10.2 mils = 1 bullseye (12 points) , 1 black ring for 10 points and 1 white hit for 6 points
1800 yards - 11.9 mils - 3 black ring hits and 1 white

I had 35 rounds remaining from this batch of ammo that I took to TVP Sunday.

TVP conditions:

75 degrees
700 feet elevation

I confirmed my 1000 yard dope at .3 mils

Then began shooting at the small square steel at 1 mile.

Applied Ballistics - 11.3 mils needed

My first 3 shots were high 1 mil or so based on the dirt splash.

Set scope to 10.2 and placed the remaining shots on and just near the 18 inch plate.

This 10.2 would lead me to believe the distance is not 1760 but something closer to 1700.

Has anyone lased the 1 mile targets at TVP?

Oh, I played around with google maps too. Here's a picture using the distance tool on google maps. It shows the distance is 1 mile from shooting tables to the treeline. But the targets are not at the treeline. Is google maps measuring tool accurate?

Stumped...

Mike

Bushings and expander mandrel? .223 to start

I think I have this correct, confirming in the event I'm missing something?
Reference, moving however so slowly from the polished expander ball on standard RCBS 2 piece die set. I was using the die with the spindle removed and then a Sinclair expander mandrel-I know, over working the brass. My rifle is shooting good, I want to lower the numbers to minimize those outliers. I also felt that the measured mandrel(.2225 where the wear pattern is) didn't give me enough neck tension, I don't know. I polished the expander to give me .003, best I can tell.
My plan is to get the Redding Type S bushing die set, nitrided bushings--and should I also do the mandrels in which I was leaning on the 21st Century set-or at least the ones that will be one above/below the desired .002.
Anyhow, measured the 80smk loaded rounds-.246, as I understand if wanting .002, I should use a .244? If also adding the mandrel to give me the .002 +/-, should I go down to .243 on the bushing?

I'm all ears, please keep it simple for the retard and without suggesting gauges to check seating pressure, etc--joking in a sense.

I just shot at 300 the other day, 100% on a 4" plate with the 10 impacts under 2" or less as observed. A couple pics with what I'm doing now. The tic marks indicate my 1st 3 rounds on each group.
24" HawkHill, Area 419 HFM adapter, Nomad 30 with Ebrake. Debating putting the ATS tuner back on to piddle. Blue Mountain Precision build, the gun with my redneck mirage shield.
