Don't call 911!

FTFA"

Cincinnati police chief says out of 100 people watching and recording violent attack, only 1 called 911

Well at least they stopped to video:

Video is in the link, I can't find a version without the talking heads "Explaining" everything to us.

What got me was Everyone filmed it, no one called 911 or tried to stop.

I know the pit is divided on "Would you intervene or walk away" I get both--but to stop and film? Yeah DOOOOOOOMED we are.

NEW- Geissele King Hunter

Geissele Automatics released their new bolt action rifle today: The King Hunter

This will be chambered in 7mm Backcountry

Rifle Info:
The long action bolt assembly features a floating bolt head for improved lug engagement and a roller guided firing pin, to ensure the most consistent ignition possible. The bolt assembly features our Nanoweapon coating, which makes the action super smooth and incredibly corrosion resistant. The nitrided receiver sits in a Manners Long Range Hunter (LRH) OEM’d carbon fiber stock, which balances ergonomics and weight reduction, with the rifle weighing in at just over 8 lbs. Accuracy is at the forefront of design, and the Geissele 20” stainless-steel cut-rifled barrel with a 1/8 twist is complimented with the “smile-maker” super crisp two-stage Super 700 trigger.

Below is a link to our website, or message me if youd like to place an order

These are going to start rolling in mid February, we are to get the first 50 made.

Horizontal sway

I’m using a Caldwell The Rock front rest and a rear bag. My vertical stability is great, but I can constantly see the reticle swaying horizontally about 1 moa. I’ve tried different grip pressure, adjusting my rear bag, getting lined up, etc. Still can’t get to where I’d like to be. Parallax is set, most good groups are horizontal. I also notice this when using a bipod.

I know the answer is to just try different things and see what works. But has anyone dealt with this deficiency? What helped for you? All tips appreciated.

.224 Valkyrie

I guess I get to start the 224 Valkyrie reloading thread!

18" Rock Creek arrived from Rainier Arms. This barrel has a rifle +1" gas system with a port size around .095". I got it installed on a BCM upper and used a Sentry 7 adjustable gas block. Opened it to click number 7 and started velocity testing.

75gr Federal AE
2855,2870,2875=2866 10/20

90gr FGMM
2605,2598,2565,2596,2602=2593 16/40 minus the slow shot that would have been awesome!

90gr smk loaded to 2.29" with Varget two shots only.
23.5gr: 2443,2457=2450 9/14
24.0: 2502,2498=2500 2/4
24.5: 2561,2561=2561 0/0
25.0: 2597,2617=2607 14/20
25.5: 2676,2655=2662 10/15

pressure started to show on 24.5 and was quite heavy at 25.5, my buffer is a standard buffer (original 1st gen JP SCS) so I ordered JP's new gen 2 H2 SCS buffer kit. This will likely allow 24.5 to be fired fine and will also stop the slight ejector marks I saw on the factory ammo.

Using my lyman borecam, the barrel is a cut rifled barrel. There was just one slight burr in the area where the lands start and after firing and clean the bore at 20 rounds the burr was gone. This barrel finishes up nicely with a 15" forearm and keeps the gas block just out of sight.

Once my H2 buffer arrives I'll shoot more. Given the velocity with the 90 grain bullets, I'd bet I'll be in the mid to upper 2600's with 80 gr A-Max. Which is what I plan to run in this barrel mostly as a coyote killer.

Goes to show you Rocks are fast!

What Action For a .308

Going to put together a .308 rifle for general all-around use. Don't need anyone to pick an action for me, however there are a lot of people out there that experience what actions cycle effortlessly and stay running despite shitty conditions. I would like to know what actions you have seen go down the least and keep you in the game no matter what environment you're in.

Why does the Accuracy International AXSR in 300 Norma Mag cost twice what the Barrett MRAD in 300 Norma Mag

I was about to order a Barrett MRAD in 300 Norna Mag. today when my FFL dealer who also owns one asked if I was familar with the news circulating around about current MRAD's having unintentional discharges. Some asked if it involves the purchase of Barret by NIOA Group.

Anyone have insights.

Will this brass still make accurate ammo

11 firings.
Alpha munitions 6.5cm OCD LRP brass
Ive Annealed every firing. Now theres these wonky ridges on the insides of the necks and can feel them slightly on the outside but theyre not as pronounced as the insides are. When I resize I always full length size using the sac die with the expander mandrel inside so its all in one step. Does anyone know what causes this? And how to avoid this in the future? My other lots of brass dont have them at 5 and 4 firings.

Do you know of a REALLY low, cantilever mount? (30mm, 0-MOA)

Some time back I bought a Monstrum / Amazon mount to try, proof of concept kind of thing. Better to spend $30 to find out it doesn't work than $200.

When I got it I was actually surprised with the quality. Moderately okay? At least the machining anyway. The screws on the other hand are crap and sort of roughly the right size for the tapped holes. I'm using it in a non traditional way on a rifle with decent recoil, so I have no faith in it holding up. I need zero MOA because I'm actually using it backwards, to set the scope rearward.

So I'm wondering if there's anything out of of GOOD quality, that's equally as low. Anyone know of anything off hand?
