Took my Stainless Howa Mini to the 50m range yesterday to run the barrel in and test 1 handload with a 161gr Mono. Extra barrel length bumped up speeds which is a good sign for those wanting to use Supersonic loads for hunting. Top speed for the 161gr was 2386fps, 2180fps for the 175gr HPBT. 10 shot group at 50m with the 175gr Hornady Black ammo.

A fair amount of fellas here involved in aviation. Post up pics of equipment, experiences (there I was upside down in a thunderstorm ), you’re daily lives burnin’ 100LL or Jet A, etc... Whether you do it to pay the bills, just for fun, or just interested. We all file a flight plan through a ballistic calc or Fltplan, it’s the same, but different. Post away.

So while I’m waiting for my Ingenuity Precision powder cup to get here from Oklahoma, I decided I’d try a couple of different powder cups to reduce powder bounce from my from my new IP trickler mount.



I’ve always had some powder bounce with the aluminum 419 cup and the IP trickler, even with the original mount.



But the Area 419 cup failed in a big way with the latest mount, bouncing powder everywhere. So I ordered the IP cup.

In the mean time I got an MK Machine 3D printed powder cup to try out and it was a failure, as far as powder bounce goes, too.



While I Iwas waiting for the next powder cup to get here I noticed something weird.

The MK Machine cup that weighed 245.08 grains when I got it now weighed 245.18 grains two days later. It currently weighs 245.22 as of this morning.

Way back since the ChargeMaster and later the Sartorious days, I’ve been writing my powder cup’s weight on the cup.



The Area 419 cup’s weight hasn’t changed.

Next up was this really nice Dead Drop cup I got last Saturday.



It weighed 924.56 grains when I got it.
This morning it weighs 925.66.

I realize the DD cup is a ceramic; the handle is printed.

The 419 cup’s weight has not changed.



Scale is calibrated and grounded, has a recently replaced power plug/ wall wart transformer and is connected to a line conditioner.

I have no doubt the scale is correct, because the 419 cup’s weight is a constant.

Humidity in this room is pretty consistent year round between 50-60%.

Anyone else experienced this? Do 3D prints gain weight while curing?

Trying to judge how much interest there might be in a LOP spacer for the HNT26. This would be in the XTN interface between the action and buttstock.

As most folks familiar with them know, the LOP is quite short and adding their spacers at the shoulder end isn't optimal. If you add many you not only add the weight but you're moving away from the cheek rest. IMO it would be better to add a LOP spacer between the action and buttstock. MDT uses their XTN interface so a spacer would require a male/female tube with a bolt extension to accommodate the spacer. Yes this does mean the rifle while folded would be longer by the length of the spacer. There is no option to add the spacer behind the folder as it is epoxied in place at that end. My understanding from MDT is all variations of the HNT26 use the XTN interface so a spacer should fit any of the variations.

Given that factory LOP is 12.5" I'm thinking about spacers of 1" and/or 1.5". This would allow the user to do fine adjustments with the standard MDT LOP spacers if needed. My thoughts are keep it modular so a person can make add/remove as desired, just needing the wrench (ball-hex on folders).

I could of course get my local machinist to simply make one for me but I noticed lots of folks here and other sites wishing there was longer LOP or a better solution than the factory spacers. I talked to MDT about it and while they have no plans to make one, they appear to support a 3rd party project to make them. The issue now becomes is there enough interest to justify a small batch cnc order while keeping end user pricing similar to what we see for similar accessories.

If you might have interest in something like this please respond saying so and what length you'd prefer.
