We all saw “Sweet Sundays Gone” Didn’t we?

Tragedy indeed…. But no one who saw the short movie “Sweet Sundays Gone” ever forgets it. Even the updated version is pretty shocking to a teen!

Wonder if it got dropped for “sensitivity”. Or because Hunter Safety moved online during Covid? Not sure. Our town moved it from the PD where we volunteer taught it to the “Recreation Department” and they didn’t want any of us “old timer” instructors. It’s all run by “book course” now with no actual hunters teaching it. All of us who used to teach it had been in the woods since we’re were little kids. Now… sociology majors.

I had been teaching it for 41 years when they dropped us. Iwas the youngest certified instructor in the state when I got certified at 18. Taught in 7 states over the years. Always a shortage of instructors. Thought about picking it up in another town. But never bothered.

Anyway…. I hate reading these stories.

Stay safe in the woods this fall! Identify your target as if a life depended on it. It does.

And teach your kids or grandkids well! I know folks here will!!!

Another newscum sucks thread...

This is newscum trying to get around the thing the dems put in place so that no one governor could re-align the districts in Kalipornia to favor either party....

EVERY "registered voters" in CA got one of these books for one item in the election. AND they will mail out ballots to all of those same "registered voters"...

This is going to cost the state (who is broke) $300,000,000.

HARD NO on this (Prop 50) for me. Don't be fooled by the propaganda...

PHUCK this guy...

Precision Rifle Gear Custom Trimble Nomad foam & case

So I reached out to @geeoff for one of his Kestrel and Garmin chrono foam inserts.

He said he can do custom inserts so I asked him”can you do one for a Trimble Nomad?”

Sent him some pics and dimensions and a few days later I had a box on my doorstep.

It fit perfect!

If you need a custom insert, do not hesitate to contact him.

New Suppressor

Been out of the game a few years and thinking about getting back into it. I currently have 2 tbac ultra 7 cans and a kgm 6.5 and I'm thinking about adding a braked can to the mix. I don't have an issue with losing the target during recoil, my prs rifles do move but very little. My 7ss does occasionally kick me completely off target.

What's the consensus for top cans? I see a lot of people bragging about the Abel cans and I see tbac still has a huge wait list for cans. This can will probably go between my 7ss and probably the ar10 I'm building

Steiner H6xi

I know these haven’t really been out long enough for there to be much info on them yet or any real reviews but I’m interested in one as it seems to check alot of boxes for me as a do it all hunting scope. So what I’m interested in is how does Steiner typically stack up against the other big names in the optics world such as Nightforce, Zeiss, Trijicon, Leupold etc. mostly concerned with durability, holding/return to zero, tracking and to a lesser extent, glass quality.

Thanks for any input and hopefully the link works.

Sgt Of Arms Issues

So I wanted to see if anybody has dealt with Sgt Of Arms since the start of 2024. I have had a barrel on order from them since January 31 of 2024 and was given a 12-20 week lead time. Which I was fine with. Obviously we are over double that and then some. I checked on it a few times once it got over the estimate and got told about them moving barrel work in house and that setting them back a few weeks and I understood. So I’d call 1 time a month ish to see what the status was and got a new excuse every call. Now as of the last 3 months it has become nearly impossible to get them to answer the phone, they will not return voicemails either. Their website is automated and they don’t respond there too. I was finally able to get somebody to answer Monday and voiced my concerns. I was assured I’d get an answer on my order and the status by end of day. I have still not heard back and tried calling again yesterday and left yet another voicemail. I have tried calling quite a few times today and different times and still can get anyone to answer. Has this been the experience with anyone else lately? I know Eric is supposed to be a great guy and all and the company has a great quality track record, but this customer service is inexcusable and was curious if other people have the same issue.

TLDR:
Sgt of arms customer service is nonexistent and it makes me question doing business with them especially considering the fact that I wasted an entire year waiting on a product I still have yet to receive.

8.6 Blk reloading info

I've been working on starting to reload for 8.6 blk and figure it would be good to start a thread and share information specific to reloading.

Q has some tech data posted on their website here - https://liveqordie.com/86-technical-data/

Cartridge Print - https://store-fwcq7xdl4a.mybigcommerce.com/content/8.6BLK CARTRIDGE.pdf

Chamber Print - https://store-fwcq7xdl4a.mybigcommerce.com/content/8.6BLK CHAMBER.pdf

The first hurdle was figuring out a way to resize brass since factory brass I'd imagine is a ways out. I did manage to get my hands on a set of prototype 8.6 blk reloading dies that I'll be using.

Left is a Q head stamped piece of 8.6 blk brass, the right is once fired Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor
dYfPOsc.jpg

I noticed at first I was getting some ripples in the neck when I did a full length resize and neck up from 6.5 to 8.6 all in one step.

Running the brass through an Annealeez proved to give much better results when pushing the shoulder back.
