Rifle Scopes Zeiss LRP S5 turret question

I just got a Zeiss LRP S5 and I have a question about the turrets.

The elevation turret on mine doesn't feel nearly as good as the windage turret. The windage turret is very tactile and audible, you can feel each click thunk into place.

My elevation turret is barely audible and the clicks aren't nearly as positive as the windage.

What do your S5 turrets feel like?

Softcock Lung punch Rigging…. Where are you. The United Kingdom needs your services.

Greetings all.

Back after a long absence.

I bought some excellent ammo binders from Softcock (Lung Punch Rigging) prior to COVID.
I want to put a sizeable order in for us UK fanboys, but have no idea how to find him on this platform.
Can somebody please grit their teeth and point me (kindly) in the right direction; I’d be most grateful.

Precision Rifle Gear Kil-Spec steel arca rails

Anyone looking for a heavy steel arca rail there is a new NC company called Kil-Spec making them. They don’t have a website yet that I know of but they are on Facebook. I’m going to pick up a 16” for my 6ARC AR to add some weight up front. They have some videos and weights and prices in their posts.

Nightforce ATACR 4-20x50 Mil-xt or Schmidt & Bender 3-20x50 non-ultra short in Tremor 2 or 3

Should I wait it out and get the S&B when they come up or get the nightforce?

  • S&B 3-20x50

    Votes: 1 100.0%
  • Nightforce 4-20x50

Would go on an 18" .308 gas gun pushing it out to 1000yds. I have been saving money & saving for almost 3 years now for my dream scope. A S&B 3-20x50 non-ultra short, but they hardly ever come up for sale. The Nightforce comes up for sale far more often. If you have experience with the 2 and don't mind sharing, please explain why you would choose one over the other.

Subsonic big-bore loads

With cans and lever rifles getting more and more popular, I figured it might be a beneficial for those of us who have fallen down the big-bore subsonic rabbit hole to have a thread to discuss what's working for us powder, case prep and bullet wise.

My particular poison is .44 subs out of a Henry X and 77/44, but .357, .45 LC, 450BM, 458 Socom, etc discussion welcome.

Getting consistent accuracy out of these kinds of loads has been tricky for me, and my standards for good enough are a good bit lower than with my other rifles. Having tried CFE pistol, HP-38/W231, Longshot, HS-6 and AA#7 with a variety of ~300gr cast and jacketed bullets, I'm seeing the most success with AA#7 and HS-6 at this point. Having uniformly clean cases seems to have a large impact on 100yd accuracy with my .44s, I got some strange results with using vibratory cleaned vs wet tumbled w/armor all cases.

Below is some of the load development I've worked on.

I'm very interested to hear what's working/not working for everyone else.

Rifle Scopes $2500 MSRP Limit (PRS Production Class)

Who is king? I've shot a bunch of NRL22x/NRL Hunter but haven't gotten into PRS. I have an MPA BA PMR Pro II on order that I don't think I'd change much on anyway, and since it is eligible for Production class figure I might try to keep the optic there as well. Options seem to be slim; FFP/MIL/20x+ max are my criteria.

Most scopes have ridiculous MSRP's compared to street prices. I'd grab a Gen3 Razor and have fun but the MSRP is laughable.

Zeiss LRP S3 6-36 seems to be the best option I can find. Though they are one MSRP bump from being ineligible. XTR Pro is out; feel like the LRP S3 is well ahead of an XTR III? Looked at the Leica PRS 5-30 as well but those don't seem to have much of a following.

Yeah yeah I know, run what you want and shoot open. Still considering that, but setting up rifles for specific purposes is a fun game to play.
