Subsonic .308 220gn SMK

Looking for opinions on a .308 subsonic load I made for kicks.

I saw the data from Hodgedon using 8gn of Titegroup for a 168gn projectile. Pistol powder seemed like an odd choice and the 168 seemed light if I could use 220gn.

I had some SW50 BMG D100 powder and worked up a load with a 220gn SMK, got it to 1030fps, no issues, 26" 1:10 barrel.

Is there a reason no one has done this before? It seems easier and safer with a slower burning powder. Chances of me reinventing the wheel better than it was are low so I assume I must be missing something. Feel free to weigh in.

Shoot kid in the back of head -pay $4.9 million settlement and all is good !

Way back in 2017 , before “all the good ones” left or were forced out .

They wanted to question Isaiah about his brothers whereabouts and possible connection to a shooting , Isiah ran away- and Sacramento PD officer Villicruz shot the unarmed teen in the back of the head.

They marveled at the “good shot “ and waited serval minutes to call for medical attention, and even handcuffed him while his brain was on the ground - in case an unarmed kid was still dangerous.

Instead of treating it like a murder - almost 8 years of legal wrangling resulted in a near $5 million dollar settlement to the family. But deemed the shooting justified I guess they were afraid of a young kid they wanted to question about someone else .

Accessories Protective Ammo Box - Customizable

Custom ammo inserts for Apache boxes. The 1800 size box can accommodate most 300 wm sized rounds or less. Larger than that and you have to step up to the 2800. That can accommodate rounds up to 338 Lapua and is a split insert which allows for multiple calibers. The larger case holds a little over double the capacity of the 1800. They’re made to rest the rounds on the shoulder to protect the tips and allow for you to put spent casing back in. All of the inserts can be customized with whatever information you would like. I can also do some custom designs if that’s what you’re looking for.

SOLD WTS Geissele MK16 Rail 15" DDC

For sale is a Geissele MK16 rail. It was assembled on a Geissele upper and shot for 20-30rds. It's like new, except where I scratched the barrel nut when disassembling. I didn't back out the anti-rotation screw enough like a dumbass. Still works flawlessly and you can't see the scratch when assembled. Price reflects the scratch.

This one:

$220 shipped.

Emotional roller coaster: 6 powder droppers in < 3 years!

Waited on ATV4, sold 2 RCBS chargemasters in 2022

Got ATV4 Spring 2022. Wait! I need a shim? It sits precariously atop the stock scale cover which was not made for weight atop it? the motors bind up over 90 degrees? F-this I'm selling and it (at a small loss) and getting this awesome supertrickler that's coming out!

SuperSpiller comes out. I become a beta-tester with a guy named AH. We test HUNDREDS of software iterations. There is no software fix for that stupid vibratory tube and its temperature sensitivity. I sell it, in anticipation of the Ingenuity Precision in FALL 2023.

The IP is delayed for YEARS! AH sells me an ATV2 (with V3 software) to get me by, 6 months AFTER the advertised IP release (summer 2024). What a primitive POS! I struggle along, awaiting the IP. I polish the trickler tube, I change the belts, I superglue loose parts....But it's never quite right, and the IP never comes....It's now early March, 2024....

So I buy ANOTHER V4, which I received today. Easy to set up. good instructions. Still sits atop like a house of cards. But an elegant machine with great software, and easy peasy bluetooth, and an intuitive App!

After all this frustration for almost 3 years, it is like ECSTASY dumping charges. It just WORKS! l'm in HEAVEN!!! (I fed it AR-COMP, easy test, no fat stick powders like H50BMG, RL50, or n570, to kill this buzz!)

But now I've dumped 100 charges, and I have to empty this fucking thing. Wait, what? OK, take off the hopper. Now what? unplug the fucking wire? WHAT? Shake it like a shank-n-bake chicken? What about these windows? These stupid fucking "windows" on the front and the rear? Oh my fuck, now there is powder all over every-fucking-where and I remember why I sold this POS almost 3 years ago!

But, TBH, this is the one I will keep. Maybe even after IP full system comes out...get another scale, run two of them for different powder morphologies....?

Berger 153.5’s

I got some Berger 153.5 in the other day to try out in my 6.5x284 shehane bench rifle. Figured it would be a good candidate with that BC behind that cartridge. Just did a ladder charge 3 shot groups at 100yds to check my speeds with V555. Seated it .010 off the lans and I was surprised. Next step is to check groups at 300-400yds but has anyone else experienced this bullet to be that forgiving? Didn’t matter what charge I had behind it. It just shot.

TRG42 M995 Aftermarket Bolt

Recently I broke the bolt on my Sako M995 and as many have noticed they are not longer avaliable via Sako or a 3rd party. I have sent cad off to a Machine Shot to have one custom made because I dont want to through my rifle in the recycle bin due to the money I have invested into it. Is there anyone in the same boat as I am? Potentally making some for people that are in the same boat as I am. Just curious if I am the only one that is in this boat.

thanks

SOLD Leupold VX5 HD 3-15x44 Wind-Plex

I’m selling a barely used Leupold VX5 HD 3-15X44 Scope with Side Focus, Wind Plex Reticle
I purchased this scope new about 4 months ago for a hunting gun. I ended up getting rid of the gun and just don’t need the scope.
The scope is in very good condition as pictured. It has been to the range only 3 times and it works perfectly.
Purchase includes everything pictured- Scope, bikini style lens covers, original box, owners manual and sticker.

SOLD delivered in the continental US.
I accept Venmo, Zelle or Paypal F&F with no comments or notes.
I am happy to send a video or picture with the current date and your screen name for security.
First to PM me and post “I’ll take it” in this thread will own it.

The VX-5HD is taking optical performance to a whole new level. Leupold gave it a High-Definition optical system for sharp clarity, and the Twilight Max Light Management System for great low-light performance, giving hunters a visible advantage at dawn and dusk when game is on the move. The CDS-ZL2 (Custom Dial System ZeroLock 2) elevation dial locks in place so it cannot be inadvertently rotated off zero. A mere press of a button will allow the user to dial up two turns of elevation, if necessary. On the 2nd revolution of the elevation dial, the button sinks in to show you are on the 2nd turn so you can dial for extended ranges and never lose your place. The covered pop-up windage dial provides fast and accurate sight-in and easy re-zero.
