Balancing MPA Matrix rig w/ 18-20" barrel?

use case: NRL22 (50-100yds)

scenario: with 26" barrel rifle balanced at front of mag well (pre-barricade stop). Gray Ops barricade stop made rig butt heavy; added competition side rails and 4 x Gray Ops XL steel weights to regain balance. would like to try 18-20" barrel but concerned with balance, welcome input/advice from folks running similar barrels.

build: RimX / MPA Matrix / Competition Side Rails ( 1.1 lbs) / 4 X Gray Ops XL side rail weights (2.8lbs / Gray Ops barricade stop / 26" ACE barrel ACE contour (1.250 -> 1.10 @ muzzle)) / NF ATACR 7x35

UPDATE: chassis is Matrix, not Pro. with added Comp Side Rails it has same/similar features as Pro without adjustable bag rider.

SOLD Steiner t6xi 5-30x56 MSR2 LNIB

Nearly new steiner t6xi 3-30x56 with MSR2 reticle, awesome scope with amazing glass and nice reticle. I have tracked this thing out to 1500y and it's spot on, the turrets are very repeatable. The glass on these is premium and stacks up with my Element Theos and ATACR, very sharp with good pop, the glass is really above it's weight class. This one is super clean and without a scratch, no ring marks, glass and turrets are perfect. Nearest to new you will find. I'd love to keep it but can't justify doing so. Lifetime transferable warranty. Comes with Tenebrex covers and all the original goodies.

Best Harris Bipod Rail Mount Adapters?

Looking for some advice and opinions of the best rail mounts for Harris BRM-S. I see that the LaRue seems to be very popular but it doesn’t look like it has the option of rotating for target following. Harris makes a rail mount that does rotate. I want the mount to rotate in conjunction with the BRM-S being able to swivel but would like to know what else is out there that others may be using.

Knife Restoration

Found this in my father's toolbox when he passed. 12" when open. Wanted to restore it, but set it aside for a while, my dad and I never had a good relationship, he was an abusive asshole. Finally started the restoration today. Here's a before and after so far.

The scales are pretty rough...cracking, loose, so going to replace them. Friend of mine makes these, so have him doing a set for me.

When done, I plan to engrave the blade to say 'BE BETTER' as a reminder to never be like him.

Kimber Advanced Tactical II Thread

Local farmer/rancher has hired me to remove some problems this spring. Figured it was time to build something new for the job.

The rifle is a Kimber 84 Advanced Tactical II in 308 which will be more than enough for the job. Paid about $1200 USD for the rifle after shipping. The optic and just a cheap ATN X-Sight PRO 5-20. I've actually had good luck with them in the past (with the Gen One, 3-15x). This one is a little better and includes a ballistic calculator and a range finder built in. I only paid $488 USD for it after shipping so it keeps the cost down on something with a little night vision.

School me on the Samson/review.

I’m currently running a MDT ACC, prior to that a KRG Bravo. I also have a Manners PRS1. The PRS1 is actually my favorite stock as far as style and fit are concerned but it is too light.

There are a ton of threads on here of people selling their Samson soon after receiving it, with some saying it is too heavy. A quick search didn’t lead me to any specific reviews of the Samson.

For anyone running it what’s the verdict, too heavy? What did you move from and why? What do you like and dislike about the Samson? For reference my system weight currently is 22 pounds.

AB Quantum App Issue

Has anyone experienced an issue where from the Shoot, Ballistics Calibration screen, you define/add a DSF, select "Use DSF", but it does not change the solution (elevation) to reflect the change? For instance, with my .22 at 200 yards, Elevation is 6.21. I enter the actual drop in DSF of 5.5, then hit Use DSF and the solution does not reflect 5.5. I checked the DSF table, and the entry is there. Sometimes, if I select Environment, then get temp for example it will then update correctly. Other times it won't. Seems random.

Thanks

Defiance actions.

Howdy. I am exploring an ELR journey. I’ve done quite a bit of research into equipment.
I have a Defience action in 300WM that I’ve shot out to 1500 yds. I like it a lot.
My question is why are none of the “Big gunners” in the sport not using Defience actions. IMO they have very close tolerances and perform repeatedly well. I have no experience with Bat or the others seen in ELR. Are they inferior compared to the others? If so why?
