Ruger American Ejector Marks

So my Ruger American gen 2 is leaving ejector marks on what I would think are mild loads. The ejector seems to stick up higher than my other bolt guns (including gen 1 American) and seems pretty stiff too. I got these marks on

UPDATE WITH VELOCITY:
20” Odin Works Both 123gr hpbt:
IMR 4895 (38.8gr 2775, 39.2gr 2828)
Staball Match (39.5gr 2813, 40gr 2841, 40.5gr 2879)

I took a couple coils off the ejector spring and ran this test again. No ejector smears, although I know I am too hot with the top Staball load, which is .2gr under Hodgdon max.

SOLD FS Tract Toric ELR 4-25x50 mil

Buyer flaked so putting it back up with a lower price. I have an excellent condition Tract Toric ELR 4-25x50 for sale. Comes with the box and what it came with. Glass is in great condition and no scratches. Also a set of Butler Creek Element scope caps and a cheaper throw lever which works great. Scope has a lot of elevation at 47 mils and parallax down to 15 yards so would be great on a rimfire or ELR rifle. $1180 shipped to lower 48. Will take PayPal F&F, check or money order. PM any questions

Friend from childhood recently passed. Left me his guns. Need some advice on one.

We met in 3rd grade and were pretty tight until he passed away at age 47 late last year. He was stricken with severe MS, and was slightly better than bedridden for his last 2yrs.

Shortly before he was put in long term care, he had me gather all his firearms and store them at my house with explicit instructions that no one else was to be trusted with them.
He was single, no kids, and aside from a few distant relatives, no next of kin.

Anyhow, one of the pieces was a basic Springfield 1911 of mid 90s production. As a received it, it was in a state of him modding it, or at least had plans to refinish it.

It's missing the sights, and it appears he had removed the factory bluing, and had polished the slide and lower. Kind of a messy job, but he was deep into MS at the time, so no fault there. No clue what his intentions were in the end with it.
Functionality wise, it seems fine. No feeding or eje issues.

So, what I'd like to do is get it back complete again, with minimal mods, no desert tan finish, and no tactical nonsense.
Just refinshed with some decent sights. It won't be used in any role, basically just a rememberance of him.

I'm wondering about the finish. I'd like a basic, matte blueing. I have access to a sandblaster in my shop and was considering doing the blueing myself. Anyone think this is unwise? Any tips? I do NOT want a flawless finish as it has some charcter to it with minor dings and such from him carrying it in his truck for decades.

Question about 300 PRC magazines

Easing into ELR with a 1-mile build. I have a Defiance action/Bartlein barrel, and it will be going into a KRG Bravo chassis with a lot of weight added. I am trying to choose a magazine and can't seem to find much info. Is it best to just pick one and go? Or do I need to check with the builder on chamber dimensions to determine if it should run a binder plate or not? Sorry if this has been asked before.

SOLD Kahles K18i-2 1-8x24mm scope with 3GR reticle

For sale: Kahles K18i-2 1-8x24 scope with 3GR reticle

The scope comes with the 3GR reticle, two interchangeable throw levers (one long, one short), cover, and original box/papers. It has a large 150 ft FOV and a daylight-bright illuminated reticle with a MAX LIGHT function for extreme backlight situations. I've added a Kahles ballistic turret ($195 cost) for easier elevation adjustments (original turret included).

The scope is in like-new condition and works just like it's supposed to. It was mounted and taken to the range only once for zeroing.

Price: SOLD, which includes scope, turret, shipping, and insurance. No trades.

Pre-Fit Barrels for Kelbly's

I see this a lot now and that is people asking for pre-fit barrels. Kelbly's has held our headspace tolerance within .001" since the early 90's. Our actions have always had interchangeable "pre-fit" barrels for them. Our dealers all over the world can stock barrels chambered by us, or they can cut any blank with our dimensions provided on our website to make a pre-fit. You have NEVER had to send a Kelbly action into Kelbly's for chambering, we have always provided pre-fits.

I'm just putting this out there because we constantly get left out of the pre-fit talk but have held headspace within .001" since our first CNC was set in 1992.

We hope everyone has a great 2020!
