Help on first build- Origin, TL3, Kelbly, CDG, or Solus?

I have used the search function and have literally read all the posts on first builds, etc. so I'm just gonna post my thoughts on my first potential bolt action build. I have built numerous ARs in the past so I like the option of building a bolt action but just need some help from the experts. I'm looking at a 6.5 Creedmoor build. That seems to be the most well-rounded option for a first build? Rifle would be used for plinking and target practice and potentially PRS in the future.

Origin- $900 seems like the obvious answer. Probably best bang for the buck proven option available for sub $1k. The only question/concern I have on the Origin is the bolt throw of 90 degrees. I've read a 90 degree throw can sometimes bind up with the scope? Is this really an issue or am I overthinking this? I feel like I'd prefer a shorter throw but don't know any better.

TL3- $1300 this is probably what I'd prefer but it's about $400 more than the Origin. I think they are 60 degree throws? I probably don't need all the other bells and whistles and wouldn't even know the differences. Not doing any barrel swaps either.

Kelbly Prometheus- $1000 seems like a great option and can be had around $1k at Brownells at the moment. Seems Kelbly's has a good reputation and are well respected but maybe not the current darling like some others?

ARC CDG- $900 this thing looks amazing on paper but for some reason it makes me nervous at the same time. Not sure what else to say about it. LOL

Aero Solus- $700 man, talk about a polarizing brand. One minute I want to just buy the action and build around it with a good (non Aero) pre-fit barrel and chassis but it's still an Aero product at the end of the day and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. You really can't argue with the price and it's a 60 degree throw.

I really want something, at least for my first build, to be pretty plug and play. I think all the options I listed fit into that category with pre-fit barrel and chassis options. Probably looking at a Proof pre-fit with an MDT or MPA chassis and TT trigger.

Any other options I'm missing?

Thanks in advance!

Trigger hanger adjustment vs. sear engagement: Which one first?

I got an MPA PMR a few months ago built on an ARC CdG action. This is my first action with a trigger hanger, and the Bix n Andy trigger is my first trigger with a sear engagement adjustment. As I'm thinking about things that don't need to be messed with, I am learning about the adjustment on the trigger. I understand that if I adjust the pull weight on the trigger I need to readjust the sear engagement. However, would I also then need to adjust the trigger hanger? What is the order of adjusting those things and are they related or do they do totally unrelated functions?

416 Hellfire Load Development

Howdy everybody, I can’t seem to find a dedicated 416HF thread in the hide, so figured I would make one…

I’m considering building a 416HF for ELR on a Bat XL, for 515-550gr projectiles.

I know a lot of guys are currently using the 416HF on the ELR circuit. Is there anybody prepared to share information on the cartridge?

Best propellant?

Consensus on best projectile for the cartridge?

Ideal twist rate?

Things to stay away from?

Any good data or inside info?

And where the heck do I get me a MCS ELR stock

TIA

Accessories Arc'Teryx LEAF Goretex Alpha LT Gen 2 Jacket + Alpha Pant Gen 2 Multicam DEVGRU

This is a new set. Very high quality, very durable, and weatherproof GoreTex camo from ArcTeryx LEAF (much better then their retail line). Purchased a few years ago and never used them. There's a lot of adjustability with the jacket and pants and they're excellent for layering. Quiet enough for hunting, durable enough for anything (DEVGRU uses this gear).

The pants are not the LT version, which I bought originally and found the materials weren't as durable as the LT jacket, so I returned them and sourced the non LT Alpha pants instead.

This gear wasn't cheap and hard to source. I slimmed down to a size 31 and got a smaller set, but the quality isn't as good as this set that I'm listing.

.17 HMR - fps all over the place

If anyone has seen my varmint posts here over the last few years you’ll know that most of my varmint kills last 2-3 years has been with a .17 hmr . 17 grain Vam CCI fps on box is 2550.
have a case -500 rounds bought pre Covid lot number ending in 049.
The rifle is a a budget Savage 93R17. A budget rifle but accurate and dependable and I don’t cry when it gets bounced on a tractor or in a truck bed .

Anyhow over years I’ve have at various times chrono’d this load - 2550 is box muzzle velocity- I’ve routinely got fps as high as 2730- almost always above 2550, almost always above 2650. A 100 fps gain is a good thing - and some rifles I’ve heard can be slightly faster than others whatever .
The problem arises in the lows 2410 is the lowest I’ve actually chronographed in this lot .
This accounts for - 3-4 stellar accurate shots and then a fifth shot can be a complete miss .
I know CCI loads nearly very one’s flavor of .17 or at least their own , federalist and Hornady and Remingtons .
Winchester/Browning iOS made by Winchester according to some .
PMC and Sellier and Bellot also load .17 but I have never seen any .
Anyone run a flavor of .17 that doesn’t have a possible 300 something fps variation possible in a single box ?
Or is this just the nature of rimfire?
