Do Pretty Groups Mean Anything?

I guess this is a general question, but it involves a rimfire, so here I am.

I got myself a new T1x, and I am testing types of ammunition at short range. I am zeroing at 35 yards, and I will be moving out to 50 yards once I have favorites. The final goal is to kill squirrels.

I shot several types of ammo the other day at 35, and while an Eley product came in with the smallest groups (0.468"), cheap CCI Blazers shot prettier groups (0.555"). Each group was one nice round hole. The Eley groups were irregular.

Should a shooter conclude anything from the fact that one brand of ammunition shoots nice, round, symmetrical groups?

I was pretty surprised by the Blazers. I also shot CCI Sub-Sonics, and I got a nasty flyer I'm pretty sure I didn't cause.

SOLD MDT ACC Premier Gen 1

IMG_7389.jpeg

Selling my ACC Premier Gen 1 chassis. It’s the sky blue cerakote version. Right Hand Remington 700 short action.

It’s been used for a couple seasons, so not perfect cosmetically. Some normal scuffs and wear and tear in the mag well, arca rail, and bag rider/butt stock. No issues that would cause any issues functionally though.

Chassis comes with grip, buttstock, like green dampeners, bag rider, 1 set of non-QD MDT external weights, and mirage shield.

Internal weights not included.

Asking $900 shipped PayPal F&F. If G&S buyer covers the fee.

MDT XRS what are these forend holes for? Adding flush cup.

The MDT XRS forend has these holes in the side, underneath the plastic mlok slots. They are different from the 3 threaded holes for mounting the side panels. What are they for!? There are holes in the bottom of forend that look like they line up with the forend weight, but I can't find any accessories that seem to use these holes.

1000005873.jpg

I have an MDT XRS and just went from the original forend to an enclosed forend to get the arca rail, and these holes are on both forends.

I also added the wood kit that I've had kicking around for a while, and I like the look. However, I lost my side mlok on the forend that I was using for a sling cup. I am thinking about enlarging one of these and threading it for a threaded flush cup (I would also drill through the wood side panels). I just don't want to unknowingly mess up a mounting point for an accessory I might want in the future.

SOLD WTT/WTS Factory Radian Mod 1 9” 300 blkout pistol in Factory Urban Camo

Want to trade my Factory Radian Mod 1 9” 300 blkout with geissele trigger in factory urban camo. The main trades I’m interested in are as follows: Scar 16 NRCH in FDE, Staccato XC (like new in factory condition, can have rmr), nighthawk sandhawk with comp (or similar nighthawk 2011 with comp), potentially would consider other high end 2011 between xc and sandhawk quality, would entertain other high end rare trades. I know all the trades listed will require cash from me and I am prepared for that. Let me know what you have! $2800

Folks

I recently purchased a M40 walnut stock on Ebay from a vendor "Beever156". Inletting is a nice tight fit to my rifle, surface finish is extremely smooth. He has a pair for sale at $400 right now.
No personal interest in the sale. Just thought it might help someone out building a M40ish clone.

Best regards,
Arthur

Why doesnt factory ammo have to chamfer the necks?

I'd like to know about the three differences I see between factory match and our handloads.
1. Why do we have to chamfer necks but some of the best factory ammo out there does not? How do they get away with it?
2. Why does factory ammo have a ton of neck tension, but we're all kinda pressured to do 2 thou of tension? I hear from a few people that they run 4 thou and have noticed better groups; should we all be running at least that much then? When I try to pull bullets out of factory rounds to experiment, it's always really hard. When I pull mine, sometimes they're really easy.
3. I heard that a ton of neck tension increases pressure; does it? And by how much? Asking that because I pulled down some old 8mm Mauser ammo from Yugoslavia, and it was soo difficult I had to break the seal (due to the asphalt looking stuff) with a seater first, before any of the bullets would pull. Are those rounds experiencing a massive pressure spike because of that?
