Been shooting the B14R heavy and just finally got around to measuring headspace.
Made up a simple tool to measure rim thickness. It’s just a piece of round aluminum stock with a .228” hole. It fits perfectly in the Stoney Point adapter.


After installing on my caliper and zeroing I used a fired case to produce the measurement shown. Am I correct in thinking this is showing a .046 headspace?


Here is a unfired SKRM.


That would indicate .004 “slop” in the headspace, correct?
I see quite a few reference .043 as a good headspace measurement so if I shim the bolt .003 it should put me in a sweet spot.

Cadex DX2 Evo trigger with curved shoe. These are convertible to single or two stage. Currently 2-stage 2lbs and is by far my favorite 2 stage I have used to date.


This thing has been an absolute laser with 136gr Lapua scenars with groups as small as 3/8 MOA. It's done well with 130gr Fed GMM but it REALLY liked the factory Lapua ammo. That said, I'm all out of that ammo and don't reload so someone else can do this thing justice.

I just sold my GAP M40A1 and the buyer didn't want the MST-100 (MST100) 10x scope that was on it. The scope was part of a USO production run for GAP and Sniper's Paradise and has the special serial number GASP 00. I bought it from the owner of the Sniper's Paradise website and it's been back to USO once to lubricate the turret detents. I have the original box, objective "wrench", but no scope rings or mount - they went with the M40A1.

I've been running my equipment through the mud [literally] and learning what works well in rough conditions and for longer brisk movements. The gear that's available now is lightyears beyond what was available to me in the military in usability and in comfort.
