Reloading Equipment Sartorius Entris II BCE123-1S

What’s for sale?

A brand new Sartorius Entris II precision laboratory scale. Model number BCE123-1S. Do your best F Class John impression with this thing.

What’s it cost?

$1750 shipped and insured in the continental U.S., it’s a big heavy box. I accept any fee-less electronic payments, snail mail, what have you just inquire for your peculiarities. Available for FaceTime, phone call, text whatever as well. Not really too interested in trades, especially reloading items since that’s hitting the back burner for me and the IP system is never coming out. 😆

Is the new "custom" dies worth the extra money?

I've been looking at the some of the new dies out there such as the Short Action and Area 419 and wondering if the cost of them is worth it compared to Redding, RCBS, etc. This is for a rifle that shoots 1/2-3/4" moa, will these new dies really improve accuracy? Not wanting this to turn into a bash thread, just curious before I drop hard earned cash

Rifle Competition Events Coal Canyon Precision Rifle Match

The NRA Whittington Center
Coal Canyon Precision Rifle Match (formerly the Sporting Rifle Match)
A monthly match from February through September
Raton, New Mexico

The Coal Canyon Precision Rifle Match is designed to test a rifleman’s skills shooting small (1 – 3 MOA) targets from approximately 200 to 900 yards in natural terrain with rifle and other equipment that they must carry throughout course.

The match format is 10 stages spread over a 1-mile distance (2 miles out and back) while carrying all gear for the day. Each stage has 6 targets at varying distances to be engaged with only one shot each. Target distances and locations are known to the shooter. At each stage, the shooter will have 3 minutes to configure/deploy shooting accessories and engage the targets with only one shot each. Each hit is awarded one point resulting in a maximum score of 60 points. Most targets can be engaged from a prone position; however, some will require elevated shooting positions with tripod, shooting sticks, or barricade bags.

Typical equipment used includes: a rifle capable of 1 MOA accuracy; rifle optics and ballistic data that allow for precise hold-over and windage, binoculars to find targets/spot for other shooters, and a backpack to carry clothing, shooting accessories, water, ammunition, and food.

The match is “self officiated” where squad members take turns serving as RO, spotter and scorekeeper at each stage.

(Registration for each match opens approximately 30 days prior to the match.)

Wyoming roadtrip

This June we are taking a family roadtrip from Georgia to Wyoming. We are stopping along the way of course to stay in different states and enjoy different places.

I have in my mind what to take for emergencies etc. My wife also has a packing list started so the family can add ideas.

What would you pack? If you have done such a trip before please share your wisdom.

Also, while in Yellowstone my daughter wants to do some hiking. Any awareness tips for general safety? Also, hiking shoe recommendations? Or will basic athletic shoes do the trick?

This trip is for my daughter's high school graduation and I want my family to have a wonderful time, but my job is safety first.
Thanks

I see an SVD or possibly PSL in my future.

So I took a chance and applied for a permit on a Norinco EM-351 which by no means is a regular sight on a Swedish gun range.
And much to my suprise, it was accepted. But I managed to miss out on the last rifle the Swedish dealer could get a hold of. This led me on a chase where I found a collector with a PSL.

Personally, I still hope to get hold of a Norinco SVD, as it seems a lot nicer and the short stroke piston system is sleeker and better.
But, Im not about to miss out on a rifle like this and will get the PSL if it comes to that.

Reloading supplies have been ordered.

What are your experiences and thoughts on the two rifles?
I know that the PSL benefits from an adjustable gas piston and would probably get one for it.
I might also suppress either rifle, thoughts on that?

What do you gentlemen say?

Firearms Gunwerks GRB action, short, right hand, magnum bolt face. New

These dont get much attention, but they're really nicely made, with nice features. Dual cocking cams, bayonet style firing pin, 20 moa pinned/#8 screw bases, and one of the smoothest cocking strokes around. Its been cycled a bunch, and installed in a stock once, but has never had a barrel installed. This has a wyatt’s bottom cut, so it will easily accommodate a full length 6.5 PRC cartridge. Will include a Wyatt’s internal magazine kit with follower(for hinged floorplate). Perfect for a 6.5 PRC or Saum build. $725 shipped to your FFL. No trades please.
