Suppressors PEW Science...

Anyone know the folks at PEW Science?

I opted to pull the trigger an purchase a 1 year subscription this AM... and it failed to let me register / make the purchase.

Turns out that it doesn't like passwords with "special characters" in them... which is freak'n bizzare. It's as if they are purposely attempting to ensure your password can be hacked with the simplest of hash tables.

Are these guy reputable?

(Seriously. That the kind of stuff that went bye-bye 10 years ago...)

Thinking of getting out of reloading

This is not a for sale post. I will not be listing what I have in detail. If anybody PM's me, I will not respond, I will delete it...

Ive been contemplating this for a while. Ive got "a lot" of reloading gear and components. At one point I think my primer stash was worth 15k based on then current prices...just to give an idea. I have barely shot a gun in the past 5 years out side of some random shotgun stuff I have done. I have no place currently to even setup my equipment so to even get it setup I would need to likely spend 600-800 bucks to build a decent work bench that would be presentable because it would have to go in my game room and be "out in the open" so to speak...so I cant build a cheap bench using some 2x4's and MDF like I used to have.

I thought about loading up 5k 9mm, 5k 45acp, and 5k 223 and then selling everything else, but then that pesky "no bench" thing comes up so I would likely just offload everything and then make a large order from somewhere of case lots of whatever.

The thing that ALWAYS keeps me from selling is the "what if" factor which will never change... Ive been in the reloading game since 2008ish(maybe 09) so I have seen various droughts and collapses. Everytime there is a drought I go "damn my shits worth xxxx, but if demand has sky rocketed maybe its not the right time to sell"...

I simply dont see myself with the time to touch this stuff or damn near even shoot a gun in the foreseeable future due to family and other hobbies. I dont need the money although it would likely just get funneled into my race car.

Im just in a quandary on this. I feel like I know the answer from everybody on here will be "are you fucking crazy" and "dumb fuck"...

Model 700 Build Advise

Hello! I am brand new to the forum and I look forward to learning from the many wise people on here.

I am wanting to build myself a nice rifle. I can certainly buy one but I would like to learn and do the assembly myself. I am fairly familiar with the Remington 700 having shot a stock 7mm most of my life. This seems like a good model for me to base my new gun on.

The new gun will be a 6.5 CM. I am thinking Solus Barreled Action to start with? Would this be a good choice? Several forums seem to be high on this setup.

As far as stock I want to stay close to the classic look. I would love any advise on some good models.

Again thank you for any advise. I look forward to learning from everyone.

Support Hand/Rear Bag

Hoping to get some feedback from the Hide on support hand/rear bag. I’m still relatively new and want to make sure I am applying the proper fundamentals.

When using rear bag is it best to rest the rifle on the bag, the webbing of your hand (between thumb and finger), grip a bag rider, or really just 100% personal preference. Based on online content and the varying information it seems to me to really be personal preference but I’m hoping to get some feedback from some seasoned shooters.

Thanks in advance.

Suppressors Better place to buy than silencer shop?

In the market for a 9mm suppressor and it seems like all the ones in my budget are out of stock or back order. They are also $150-$200 dollars cheaper than anywhere else.

Does anyone else have experience with other sites or have an idea on how regularly they get cans in stock?

I’ve bought a can using their kiosk and it was painless.

I could be wrong, but I’m worried about using anyone else because of the ATF process.

Spotting scope recommendation; Vortex or Kowa?

I can do the Vortex HD 20-60x85 at the $1000 price point or I can slightly overspend and put a Kowa TSN-66 @ $2200 on a credit card.. The TSN88 for ~$3600 is out of the question for me dollar wise.

Will be using in a 2 day 400 yard class where it is required to have one, and I do benchrest 50 and 100 yard frequently with a 22lr competitions at my local club. No 600+ yard usage, but I'd like to graduate to that in the next few years with a 6.5 build..

Skeetir-L Troubleshooting

Looking for anyone with expertise in troubleshooting/maintnance/diagnosing issues with the SkeetIR-L

I purchased my unit on Tacswap several months ago. No issued until about a week ago.

First I had an issue when powering on the device where everything would turn on, including all of the menu options, but it was a "blank" image in that it would not pick up any signiatures. After several times powering on and off it stopped having this issue.

Fast forward a few days, I pull it back out to mess around with it. This time, after powering on like normal, I went to calibrate it, and nothing happened.

The menu button will physically press, but no feedback is given on the screen for calibration or display of the menu options.

It will pick up thermal signiatures, however it is in an uncalibrated state.

If anyone can offer any advice or expertise please do so. I am getting sick thinking about being down several thousand with no hope. Thanks.

2025 Iowa Precision Rifle Match (IPRM) Schedule

Here is the 2025 Iowa Precision Rifle Match Schedule.

Iowa Precision Rifle Match is a long range rifle match series at the beginners club level. We focus on inviting new and beginner shooters into long range positional rifles shooting matches on a local level (PRS Style). At our matches we encourage experienced shooters to coach and help entry level shooters similar to a Pro-Am type of match. The IPRM matches include a Basic and Advanced course of fire. The basic course of fire gives new shooters an easier stage design or target size to help them learn basic shooting and competition skills. The advanced course of fire has more difficulty for the experienced shooters and for the basic shooters to work up to shooting. The ultimate goal is to have these new shooters compete in their first precision rifle matches and help them get better and more confident. We hope they will eventually compete in higher level matches like the Regional 1 day Precision Rifle Series (PRS) matches and possibly the 2 day National PRS matches.

Here is a typical Course of Fire
