Accessories WTT 10.3” Aero Atlas R-One for a 15” Handguard

Looking to trade my Kodiak Brown 10.3” handguard for another Kodiak Brown handguard but in 15” length. Ideally would just swap handguards because I’m lazy and don’t want to take my barrel nut off. Prefer Kodiak brown but I’m not totally against straight black. Furniture isn’t included.

Spotters Compact spotter?

I have a Leupold Gold Ring HD 12-40 spotter that I throw in my day bag for hunting. I've tried the Hensoldt spotter 60 as well and it was a huge improvement in glass quality it just didn't fit in my bag.

I usually hunt 3pt minimum areas so being able to count points at distance as well as scanning hillsides while hiking.

I'm interested in the Swarovski STC or maybe a stx 65mm. But I'm worried the STX would be too big like the hensoldt I got rid of. I see there are a few different spotters around the 60mm range and wondering if anyone has done a comparison on how they stack up for fov on low end and resolution on the top end?

Accessories 3d printed AICS chamber flags

Eli, my 11 year old son (almost 12) now is making short action AICS chamber flags to add to his products of Second Amendment Concepts. These flags have a shock cord and pull tab to pull your bolt closed to the back of the chamber flag to help with keeping dust out of your action. This flag also works with 22 RF actions. They are offered in white and orange but we can do a specific color if requested.

They are $20 shipped!

Here are some of his other products:

6mm Max in a Six8 receiver set? Yes.

Brownells finally got some SOLGW 14.5" 6mm Max barrels in, so I picked one up with one of their coupon codes.

I paired the barrel with a Riflespeed adjustable gas block, which IMHO are simply the best for tuning unsuppressed/suppressed shooting on the fly.

I initially shot a few dozen rounds of the factory 90gr ELD-X using .350 Legend 20rd mags. Function was flawless and the barrel stacked rounds in basically one ragged hole. Recoil was minimal, and the POI shift with my legacy Surefire can was only a quarter mil straight down - probably due to the barrel being very stout. I didn't chrono the loads, but they should ballpark around 2600fps.

I've handloaded the once fired brass with 100gr Speer BTSP and definitely will chrono these.

On a whim, I decided to see if 6Max rounds would work with my Six8 receiver set and Magpul PMAGs... Yes, yes they do.

Rounds stack a bit wonky, but they fit and feed just fine. The rounds slide out of the polymer mags like butter. The Six8 PMAGs have *just* enough inside length to allow the spec'd 2.3" COAL.

Pretty dang cool. The Six8 20 rounders fit 22 6Max rounds and the 30 rounders fit 33 or so. Love it.

Edit 12/12/24:

100gr Speer handloads chrono at 2571fps, 2614fps with the Surefire can. Accuracy is 1MOA, which is just fine with me (I don't normally shoot groups). I'm using a H-buffer and I have to set the Riflespeed gas block at full open to cycle reliably, so I'll switch over to a standard CAR buffer and see what happens. I can dial the gas block down to 7 (from 12) with the can attached. Still love it.

Next up is 103 ELD-X bullets with TAC powder. Stay tuned...

Optics WTT: S&B 3-12x50 PMII DT CCW MTC GenII Mildot for 4-16x42/3-15x50

Want to trade my PMII for something with a bit more magnification. This is the non 8541 marked USMC scope. Ideal would be a S&B 4-16x42 or 4-16x50. Also open to a ATACR 4-16x42 with H59, Mil-C or Mil-XT reticles. Maybe a Mk 5HD 3.6-18x44 TMR though less preferred.

Scope has ring rash but glass is clean and clear. Works like a champ
