Reloading Equipment Looking to trade hornady seater

Anyone have an older hornady dies that would like to upgrade to their click adjust micrometer seating stem? I’d like to trade their new style seating stem (on the left) for one like that’s on the right. Great upgrade just doesn’t work in my press for the cartridge I’m loading. If anyone has a few old style laying around I’d buy those as well.

Night Vision Guide TB 630 LRF Clip on vs Athlon Cronus 35CL-640

Good afternoon fellas! I've been eyeballing the Guide TB630 LRF and Athlon Cronus 35CL-640 for Coyote hunting and shooting heat treated steel for night shoots. Just by looking at them I can tell they are both very similarly manufactured but the specs vary a bit. It looks like the Guide TB630 has a 1920x1080 pixel display while the Athlon Cronus has a 1280x960 resolution. Now with the sensor resolution being equal (640x512 @ 12 microns) am I right in assuming that the 1920x1080 screen will be a lot better when optically zooming in? I'm still fairly new to thermal, I have a BAE UTM that I love and works great but I want to buy another clip on. Thanks in advance for any input!

Tactical Games Scope

I posted a thread a few months ago but thought I'd start a new thread regarding going from a 1-8 ATACR to a 3-18 scope for the tactical games. For reference I'm 55 and the eyesight ain't what it used to be. We typically shoot most of our stages with rifle anywhere from 50-100/200 yards and a couple stages out to 300-600. We also typically have one 2 gun type stage each day so an offset red dot is needed. All this varies per competition. A lot of guys have started going up to the 18x range with an offset red dot. Precision is a paramount as each miss is a 10 second penalty added to your total workout time. Advantages are you can see your target better and see your misses. With an 8x it's hard to tell if I'm missing and/or where I'm missing at longer distances. Ability to dial on certain stages is a nice option but most of the time I'll use holdovers.

As mentioned, I have an ATACR 1-8 and just bought an Athlon Helos 2-12 to try out. I like the Helos and the reticle but worried about durability and 12x. Because if 12x is nice 18x has to be nicer. lol

I think I have it narrowed dow to a few options:

Nightforce NX8 2.5-20
Leupold Mark 5hd 3.6-18
Burris XTRIII 3.3-18

Nightforce-
Things I like:
Form factor and weight
30mm tube (I have mounts already)
Durability
20x (although I probably won't go this high)
FOV is good
Illumination

Things I potentially don't like:
Tight eye box
No locking elevation turrets.

Leupold-
Things I like:
Form factor and weight
Durability
PR2 reticle
Locking elevation turrets
Proven- Elite winner uses this along with several others

Things I don't like:
Cost- I always feel like Leupold is overpriced.
35mm tube (have to buy another mount).
FOV is small
No illumination (extra cost and not available on PR2)

Burris-
Things I like:
Form factor and weight (not shortest or lightest but still acceptable).
SCR 2 reticle- it might be a little thin but I like the overall form factor.
FOV is good
Illumination and T illumination at center of reticle
Cost- almost half of the other scopes

Things I don't like: Durability?- not sure if it's durable enough for this type of competition
Turrets?- I've heard some complaints about these
Locking turrets?- I'm not sure if this has locking turrets or not
34mm tube- I don't have an extra mount for this but lower cost makes up for it

Any thoughts on these scopes for these types of competitions is appreciated. Or are there other options I've potentially missed?

Thanks in advance!

Interesting trick I had luck with and thought I'd share with you scalawags

As a quick backstory: I was doing some amateur gunsmithing on my beautiful kitchen table working on a recent 1911 acquisition. Actually, the fruits of that effort can be found in this thread:

As I was channeling my inner Bill Wilson and making magic happen to my new pistol, my wife made a comment about putting a mat down to protect the table. I classically responded with something along the lines of "I'm not an idiot/I know what I'm doing".

Whelp- as you can foretell, my punch slipped while putting the guts in the mainspring housing (good lord there's a lot of tension stored in that spring) and I put a perfectly round dent in our beautiful maplewood kitchen table. Ok, ok- I put two perfectly round dent(s) in our beautiful maplewood kitchen table (but who's counting).

Naturally I was smart enough to act quickly and throw a new tablecloth on the the table after finishing my gunsmithing business but I was left with 'evidence' of my wife being right & apparently supporting that I am in fact an idiot.

So maybe this is common knowledge but I researched online for suggestions to 'fix' it. I came across a suggestion where I took a thick shop towel and folded it up after drenching it with scalding hot water and placing the towel directly over my... transgressions I'll call it. I then put a dry kitchen towel above it.

Well dang- that actually worked and helped raise the dents surprisingly well. It's not 100% but certainly made a measurable difference.

So wrapping things up here- if you find you accidentally proved your wife right and jacked up your table, maybe try the hot rag trick.

Savage 110 Action Replacement

I recently put together an outlier custom rifle and I got a savage 110 for it and I really dislike the savage action. I have been learning on a ruger rpr, and compared to the ruger my savage action is really bad. Maybe it's just the one I got, but the eject is horrible and it feels loose, I really have to wrestle with it. Looking for suggestions for a replacement action. I've seen posts say zermatt has savage actions, I thought all the top name clones were all rem 700's. If you can link the exact action or the exact part UPC I should be looking for that would be very much appreciated.
