AXMC 338 Lapua to 300 PRC Conversion Issue

I recently picked up an AXMC in 338 Lapua. My local range does not allow anything over 300 caliber, so I also purchased the 300 bolt body (part 20013) and a 300 PRC barrel (part 2527073BL). After the conversion to 300 PRC, the pin is either not or barely making contact with the primer. Does this setup need the small firing pin or is this most likely a headspacing issue with the barrel?

Storing Reloading "Stuff"

I'm not a fan of bench clutter and not the type that wants all the components, small tools, and accessories out displayed on open shelves or otherwise congesting the bench area. I don't mind a few big items out at the ready suck as scale / trickler, AMP, trimmer, and a press or two but I'd like to get boxes with dies, funnels, Dillon toolheads, and even larger items on Inline quick-change plates like my CPS primer seater, barrel vise, swager, and such put away somewhere enclosed. I have a smaller rolling tool box with all but a few drawers dedicated to small tools, parts and such and it works. Powder and primers are in a room in the house with good temp control. On the bench, the dillon pretty much stays in place on one end and an Inline flush QC mount rotates between barrel vise, Zero, CPS and a couple of other things.

How do you store all the little stuff?

Does anyone use a larger rolling toolbox base that has larger drawers or spaces to hold thing like the CPS when not in use? Which one and how does it work for you.
Any pre-made cabinets recommended? Most at Lowes Depot are deeper kitchen type cabinets and I'd rather have something shallower - no more than 10" deep.

V4 vs supertrickler vs ingenuity trickler

Finally going to buy one. Which is the best overall one you guys have found. I don't switch powder to often but load n565 mainly then imr 7977 ramshot lrt and going to try some n570.

I know iguenity trickler is coming out with there own maybe best to wait but have money in hand.

I should add I already the fx120i scale.
Right now I load with rcbs lite then move over to fx120i scale with a dandy trickler to get final charge. Very accurate but very very slow

AR comp questions

I've been trying to get AR Comp to work in either 6ARC or 223/556 but it seems like it is way slow in both. I loaded 24.2 grains of comp in 223 with a Nosler 60 bt. If memory serves, QL had it expected to be in the 2900 range from my 16" AR. Actual is much lower at <2500 where 8208 runs 2700. My 8# jug of 8208 is well over 10 years old. The 1# bottle of Comp I just bought recently.

22 BR Barrel Length and Twist Rate

My next build will be a 22 BR Norma/Lapua. I have read most of the 22 BR threads via the search feature!

My intended targets:

Steel out to 1,000 yards.
Coyotes at night out to 400 yards.
Groundhogs out to 600 yards.

Remington 700 S/A Clone
McGowen Precision Barrel
Diligent Defense Enticer LT-i suppressor

What barrel length and twist rate would you recommend?
I already have a 22-250AI 1:7 twist so I do have a decent supply of heavy for caliber .224 bullets.

I may want to shoot mid-weights for our Ohio groundhogs.

Thanks!

Suppressors Exigent

The exigent Vanish is supposed to be pretty good, but it’s not the only can that they sell.

Exigent Overwatch 762. Anyone try one yet? Wondering if it’s better than Vent 1, ODB, Anthem.

I’m not using OSS/Hux products, and don’t have any desire to go there.

No, I don’t work for them in any shape or form.

New member - SE PA

Just wanted to say hi.
I’ve been shooting gas guns since ‘09 but I picked up my first bolt gun late last year and I’m hooked.
I picked up a Tikka t3x CTR (stainless) in .308 w/ a 20” barrel and immediately ordered a Grayboe Phoenix2 stock to drop it into. I am VERY impressed, despite all of amazing things I had already heard about Tikkas before getting this rifle. It’s not picky at all and I’ve managed sub minute 5 shot groups with most of the 168gr ammo that I’ve put through it, as well as some 175gr ammo.
Just earlier today I took it out a bit past 600 yards and got consistent hits.
I look forward to learning more and spending more time on the long range!!

Spotter w/ LRF

Hi Guys ,

So I remember back in the day , USO made a Spotter with a reticle in it , and they talked about making a version of it with a integral LRF , and I think they made at least one prototype , but as far as I know never made it available .
With all these new WMLRF coming out , has any one thought of mounting one to a Spotter scope , and zeroing it to the reticle ?
Seems it would be a good fit .

Later Chris
