Any thoughts on this? I have read that the cartridge push a 750 grain bullet over 4000 fps.

Has about 700 rounds through it, all in fantastic shape. Paint looks grungy but only because it was stripped halfway for the battle worn vibes. Only con I can think of is that the previous owner boogerd up the KAC bipod mount screw, can be replaced with hardware store bolt or operation parts occasionally gets orders for KAC replacement screw as confirmed by KAC customer services.

Anyone have experience between the two? Looking for the best low light optic I can get that has the build quality, turrets, etc as these two.
Not sure if there is something better….but I can get an Ultra Bright for about $2600 right now, but the Polar is still at that $4k.

I'm not too new to reloading but only really getting serious into rifle this year. If I were to read the forums, here and elsewhere, it would seem that the method to work up a load is to start in the middle of the data and then work up until your gun starts doing fucked up things to your brass. What's the deal with this advice? It clearly ignores the measured pressure limits, it's likely not going to blow up your gun but it will reduce brass and barrel life and likely reduce your precision. Is it just the natural tendency for monkeys to max things out to the point that they break? Why don't people just go to a larger cartridge if they want to stuff too much powder in? What am I missing?

I’ve got a spare Q fix barrel that I’m not using, and I’m wondering what's involved in mounting another barrel to the barrel extension. Ultimately I'm wondering if there's an easy path to a 6.5cm sporter profile barrel in the 20-ish inch range (e.g. Tikka lite-ish barrel), without the expense of a proof carbon or a major gunsmithing odessey.

Do the Q barrel extension specs match any common prefit barrels (eg savage small shank, etc) or is a gunsmith is going to be required to cut a proprietary shank, length, threads etc. I'd obviously have to head-space, but I'm curious if I can treat the barrel extension as an 'adapter' for a more broadly-supported pre-fit shank?

I have a recently put together Dasher rifle I am taking to a friend's camp and shoot trip at the beginning of October. I am looking for a 5.56 barrel in stock to be ordered so I can get it set up on the rifle when we are there. I am bringing my barrel vice to do the swap. Anyone know of a good smith with CDG barrels in stock ready to send out I could get to me before then?

I would just order another from PVA since this 6 dasher barrel I got from them is GTG, but they will likely take too long to get it here before Oct 4th.

Recently started gathering parts for an old school M40 clone/replica build so I thought I would post up what I've gathered in the last few weeks and update as the project progresses... First thing I acquired was a beever156 stock off of eBay. These seem to be close to spec and with some additional sanding work they can be really close. It's a nice stick of wood to boot!

I then reached out to one of our very own resident experts @USMCSGT0331 about a proper buttplate and questions about finding a close to spec set of Redfield base and rings... Lo & behold he actually had some parts he was willing to part with & a few days later I had a couple of buttplates, a Redfield JR base and proper low "64" marked rings in hand! Can't thank Ryan enough for his assistance on those parts!

As title states, this is a complete stainless 700 action from a 308 Sendero with jeweled bolt. Prefix is “S” Action has seen less than 75 rounds and is believed to be from 2008 based on the factory HS stock it was in when I purchased it as the stock is marked 06-08. It’s butter smooth. It has some old loc-tite on the top of the receiver from when scope mount screws were installed but that will come right off.
