Is AB Quantum calculating wrong? New to calibration....

So I've been trying to watch Docs videos. I have a Garmin we use to Chrono a Kestrel that I record atmospherics when zeroing. (I know it's overkill)

I'm using AB bullet library G7 for a 7RM 24" barrel, Hornady ELDX 162 grain.
His velocities at barrel are 2878, 99y range, sight height 1.81, 9.50 twist. (SG 1.44)
  1. Zero - (w/ Kestrel 5700X recording during zero and taking the average)
    • Temp 71F
    • Pressure 25.11
    • 38% humidity
  2. Zero Height/Offset - Hornady Group Analysis app
    • 0.17 Elevation
    • 0.76 Eindage
    • He was high and right.
  3. Then a tall target test. Again used the Hornady Group Analysis app
    • SSF Windage - 0.92
    • SSF Elevation - 1.16

Then we shot to 1185 yards and the ABQ app was calling for 10.35E and he missed high. We dialed him down to 8.9E. When I put this in the CDF, it won't apply. It reverts to an elevation of 10.35. The weird thing is that if I remove the Zero height/offest and SSF E/W, ABQ gives the correct dope of 8.9E. Again, this is my first time digging into these details. We have never shot far enough to feel that we need this data, but now we are starting to push beyond 1k.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

SOLD Left Hand Tikka T3x KRG

Selling my lefty Tikka T3x 6mm Creedmoor

Nothing at all wrong with it. I just have others that I shoot more. It was originally a dasher barrel with about 2500 rounds on it. It had about 8 inches cut off the breech end to get past the fire cracking and get to nice clean barrel and shave a little weight, then recut and chambered 6cm. It shoots great and has about 200-300 on it now as a 6CM.

Left handed Tikka T3X Stainless
Bartlein Heavy Varmint 16" 5/8x24 threads.
Setup with WTO SwitchLug.
KRG W3 with enclosed ARCA forend modified for left hand
Timney Tikka trigger with safety removed so it can run on a lefty.
Fancy rattle can

No scope or suppressor included.

Firearms Remington M24/40XB, 10x Leupold package

I picked this rifle up on trade from another member and I absolutely love it. The gun ADD kicked in, though. I put just over a box through it, and it appears to have been shot very little prior to me shooting it (the paint around the crown was barely chipped). It shoots 175gr FGMM extremely well and that is all I have tried in it so far.

I'm sure some other members who are more familiar with these rifles can chime in about their history, but I gathered that it is the predecessor to the M24 SWS that had the adjustable stock. I called it the A1 just because it was the most I could find with a little Google searching, but I could be wrong. This has the more rare "B" suffix serial number and the barrel is marked 7.62x51 for the chambering. The trigger is absolutely amazing in here as well.

The rifle is topped with a Leupold Ultra 10X-M1A with the Premier Reticle crosshairs. It also includes the original factory paperwork for this rifle which is pretty cool. This would be an awesome gun for someone who is into collecting things more than I am.

$4,500 shipped for the package. I would trade it toward an AI AX (2014 style), AI AXMC, or AI AXSR. For the long actions I would prefer 300NM or 338NM but I can always swap barrels. Other than that I am pretty set on trades but always open to high end optics in FFP and Mil/Mil.

300 Blackout Barrel Twist

I have been doing some research and they now have 300BLK barrels in much faster twist rates. Up to just a few years ago 1:8 or 1:7 was the main go to for manufacturing. Now though there's a few 1:5 twist on the market.

I loosely know the back story, IE, Q and Kevin B introduced the faster twist, and claimed more rotational energy is better in certain situations. Also, and this is my main take, that it makes even shorter barrels viable options. If I'm not mistaken even Sig has factory options using 1:5 twist rates. If you are shooting a 5" barrel it seems like that twist would probably help make that possible for stability and your suppressor's sake.

If you have any experience with that subject, or if you know of videos, blogs, tests, etc please feel free to post it below. I'm in learning mode so share what you got.

Woox customer service sucks

I received my order yesterday. I have been waiting for this chassis for a build. I was missing a Hawkins M5 DBM. I went to call and no number to call only email or chat. Is this how they treat everyone. If an issue is found problems should warrant a call and be taken care of without the customers jumping through hoops. My issue is Woox didn’t send all of my order. Woox should now jump through hoops to fix my issue. Not the other way around.

I will keep everyone posted on how they fix this issue.

Precision Rifle Gear PMA Tool Boreguides

I recently added a new caliber to my AXMC. I finally got the middle bolt body, so I bought a 300 PRC barrel.

Forgot to order a bore guide, so I did what I always did: email Mike Lucas. Mike responded and said that he retired making them. I was disappointed. I read a comment from @Baron23 where he stated that PMA Tool was making similar rod guides to Mike's. I went to their site and confirmed that they did offer a similar bore guide. They made AI bolt guides, but they did not offer a guide for the AXMC. The AXMC has a larger bolt body diameter than the short-action bolt bodies.

I called them and left a message. I got a return call from Pat a couple of hours later. He said I could order a custom guide for the MC. I ordered it and was surprised that it came in two weeks. I love this guide. It is similar to the Lucas guides, but longer. I find the longer guide more stable. It fit perfectly. It is amazingly well-made. I love the metal insert. Now they will add the AXMC bore guide as a standard offering. They are worth checking out.

Firearms 300 Blackout Upper

Spare upper I have. Haven't shot 300 blackout in years and just can't find a use for it. Less than 30 rounds down the barrel. I believe the barrel is ballistic advantage but I can't find marks to confirm it.

Midwest industries forearm
Ambidextrous charging handle
