10mm Auto

Sticky this for 10mm Auto load data

I'm doing load development for my Gen4 Glock 40 MOS with RMR RM07 Gen2 with 200gr hard cast bullets from Montana Bullet Works... goal is bear loads.

I purchased .401 WFN-GC from them for bear loads and their WFN-PB practice bullet. Both are hard cast.

Had a lengthy conversation with their bullet guy and he said their WFN-GC has killed many bears and he would take it over a BB or Underwood any day. I'm not going to pretend I know what I'm talking about or exactly what he said because I don't remember 100% but he talked about their mixture vs high antimony. Either way, MBW comes highly recommended.

Today was my first day playing with loads. I loaded up 5ea 6.0-7.2gr in 0.2gr increments n350 with the 200gr Montana Bullet Works HC WFN practice bullet they sell. HiTek coated. Sig nickel brass and CCI LP. Stupid accurate at 10yd out of my factory Gen4 Glock 40 MOS with RMR RM07 Gen2. Don't have any speeds but I will tomorrow. They shot soft and the higher charges were probably in the 1025-1100 range.. zero leading issues. Nice and clean

Guy MBW told me to shoot my same load with the 200gr HC practice bullet and the WFN-GC.. he also said dont worry about trying to get them super fast. He said 1100-1150 is fine they will penetrate great at that speed. waiting for some longshot to arrive to load a good 1200fps bear load with those.

I did chrono the underwood 200gr HC round out of my gun and avg was 1200.. they also started leading the last 2" of my barrel

Also have a Bar-Sto match barrel being made for this Glock 40. Once it's ready they are gonna call me to send my pistol in to have the barrel custom fit. Mostly doing this for better case support over factory glock barrel.with hotter bear loads but I'll take the increased accuracy as well.

SOLD Remington 700 LA

I am selling a Remington 700 LA (Std bolt face), complete with bolt, bolt release, trigger, recoil lug, hardware, and bottom metal. This action was worked on by Score High Gunsmithing in Albuquerque, NM; however, I didn't have it done, so I can't say exactly what they did. The face of the receiver definitely looks like it has been trued, and the lugs have been lapped. They also pinned the recoil lug. Trigger breaks right at 2lbs.

Must ship to FFL from an individual. $550 shipped, PPFF preferred. I will also accept personal check or MO, but will hold item until clear and/or money in hand.

Night Vision Anyone from Armasight on the Hide?

I picked up an Armasight Sidekick 640 to play with, and it's got alot of neat features for a little unit.

They recently sent out a firmware update for the device, and it's actually stoopid easy to install. Seems to fix a few minor things... In my case, the B2 button would no longer power the unit down, although it worked fine the rest of the time. After the firmware update, everything is GTG.

The ONE thing that would be nice on the Sidekick would be having an Edge Detection / Outline mode. Especially, if the device is used with a PVS-14... which Armasight goes to great lengths to sell bridges and their own PVS-14 for...

Armasight! Why is there no Edge Detection mode on the Sidekick 640?

Chambering issue after expander mandrell.

Hello gentlemen,
after my last shooting session I measured my cases and I find some differences on headspace.
I tested some charges and the headspace are differenti from the low load to the ho load but from 1.4710" to 1.4700"

So I've made a resetting on the Forster FL Bushing sizing die for a 2 thou down from the fired case headspace, assuming that the 1.4710" of the hi loaded case are the start point.

My scheduling are the following:
- Bump the shoulder without the bushing for obtain the 2 thou of headspace (only for One or two case as reference).
Check on the chamber, ok!
- insert the bushing and resize the neck.
Check on the chamber, ok!
The bolt fall down free.
- expand the neck with mandrel.
Check un the chamber, ko!
The bolt don't fall down free, need finger help.

The headspace of the resized case are 1.4690"

I think that the mandrel, when open the neck, open also the apical section of the shoulder and change is angle.

If I think wrong can help me to solve this issue?

Thanks

The Easy Button for overgassed AR-10s: Bootleg BCG Review

As many of us know, most AR-10s are overgassed from the factory. The most controllable way to deal with that is an AGB, but not everyone is willing or able to install one. Enter the Bootleg adjustable BCG. They make them for AR-15s too, of course, but this is the DPMS pattern BCG. TLDW; it works well. My BCA-10 is so overgassed without it that it stovepipes, even with a flow through can. In fact, the rifle runs fine without a can and the BCG set to full suppressed.

The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak......

Making a table for the wife lately and Saturday, I did what we are never supposed to do. No gloves on, I was pulling a 6' board through my table saw and I found the blade....

My safety glasses had dust all over them and I just couldn't see the blade that well I guess. my wife was helping catch the boards and watched me do it too and she also said that she didn't think I was that close to it. Yes, I kept working and got all of them ready to join because I'm a man.

Of course this is just one of many accidents. I once caught a metal chuck that came off my lathe with my freaking bear hand (just a reaction to save it from hitting my lathe bed)and had a steel splinter inside my palm for a few days before realizing why it kept hurting so bad. i got it out with a magnet.

Mashed off the end of my left thumb between gears or a flywheel and starter on a log splitter when I was 17, and I've cut myself many times.

So what are the coolest injuries yall have done? Must provide pics or it didn't happen!!!

table and finger for proof

AR9 trigger help.

I built an AR9 some years ago using a quarter circle 10 reciever, barrel, and jp bolt. I couldn’t get my favorite Larue MBT triggers to work so it ended up with a milspec from the spare parts bin.

I have put a few hundred rounds through it and it started to burst fire at the range so I pulled it apart and inspected the trigger but didn’t see any issues. I replaced with another milspec and same thing happened.

I see there are PCC specific triggers, is that because normal AR triggers don’t work? Is there something else I need to look into as to why it keeps burst firing?

I have built a handful of ARs without issue so I don’t believe it’s an assembly problem, but anything is possible.

SOLD SOLD: Ruger M77/17 Clark Custom Guns 17 WSM

Selling Ruger M77/17 modified by Clark Custom Guns

I purchased this as a complete 17 WSM rifle then sent it to Clark Custom Guns and had it worked over/tuned it up with a custom fluted 21.5" barrel with 1/2-28 threads, tactical bolt knob, extended mag release, and a Boyds stock with an adjustable cheek piece that has been glass bedded. Does include a Weigand picatinny rail adapter (not shown). I will include the remaining 5 of boxes of Winchester 20 grain ammo.

Has a total of 200 rounds down the tube as of the target shown below. It has been sitting in the back of the safe and has spent more time being moved around in the safe than being used. After scratching the stock with a bolt from another gun in the gun safe, I decided it was time to get rid of a couple things. (Scratched both sides below the action, shown in pictures)

Scope with rings NOT included but will consider selling at additional cost... SHV in mils.

Shoots about 1 MOA at 100 yards with Winchester ammo and KG Made can. (only ammo I had on hand).

Price Dropped 09.23.24 to: $1,400.00
