Unertl/52 Project

I mentioned in another thread that I would be updating my Win 52 Squirrel rifle. Now that the work is in progress I will post up some details in case anyone has interest.

First, I have obtained a set of Unertl type mounts that are in new condition. No idea who built them but clearly precision was the goal. They are super precise and have zero backlash.

The second part is that the 6X small game Unertl is being fitted with a custom dot reticule with drops in 25 yard increments to 250 yards. The data for the drops was arrived at over two years of testing in various conditions.

All in all I think this will be my ultimate squirrel set up.

SOLD CZ 457 lux barrel /iron sights 22lr

I have a couple of these so I don't need this barrel. I've shot many matches with it scoped and it's very accurate. The iron sights work well out to 200 yards as well. Great trainer for young shooters that are new to iron sights.

I have the front sight hood as well. Comes with a 5 round mag.

Asking $150 shipped. PayPal or Venmo please.

SOLD *SOLD* Ruger M77 Hawkeye Tactical 243

I’m looking to sell my Ruger Hawkeye Tactical in 243. Ruger only made these in 243 in 2009 and I was told by Ruger CS that only around 100 of them were made. It’s a 20” 1:9T heavy barrel and has the two stage target trigger.

The rifle is used but in good shape with some wear and less than 100 rounds through it. There are some signs of wear and cosmetic dings here and there. It shoots sub 1/2moa with Federal 95gr hybrid hunter. The factory recoil pad was cracked from sitting on it and I didn’t feel like replacing the stock so I shortened it a little bit and put a limb saver slip on pad on it. LOP is about 13”. I also expoxied in pieces of carbon fiber arrow shafts in the forend between the structural supports to stiffen the forend.

It will come with a set of 30mm high Ruger rings and a set of 1” medium Leupold rings. Scope and everything else pictured is not included and not for sale.

There’s literally zero comps on these to price them at and even the 223’s and 308’s are rare to find for comparison. It did see earlier this year where a 308 sold on gunbroker for just shy of $900 though and they made them in 308 for years and in the thousands.

I’m pricing it at $700 shipped to your FFL in the lower 48 for the package which I think is very fair. Your dealer must accept from an individual of there will be an extra fee to go through a dealer on my end. Payment via Zelle or USPS MO. Not looking for trades.

Precision Rifle Gear Is the Garmin Xero still the Whiz Bang Chrono to get? Is there a new(er) model coming this year?

Yes I saw the 56 page thread on the Garmin.

Going to replace the Labradar. Is the Garmin Xero still the best replacement? I see Labradar has a new smaller unit out also. Any comparison?
I want easy to use, not spend range time reading manuals at the range trying to get something to work.

My luck is normally a newer model comes out around Thanksgiving for Christmas sales. Any Rumors on this?

Who is the best source for a unit? Any SH vendors?

Thanks

1.2 Trillion Dollar Debt Bomb

The US National Debt is $36 Trillion and climbing. Now adding to that in another year could be the $1.2 trillion in commercial real estate loans that could default in 2026.

A massive default on these loans could cause a domino effect of banks collapsing and US taxpayers picking up the bill due to loan guarantees.

Does anyone else see a problem with Trump and the Republicans getting blamed for the crisis, just in time for the mid-term elections? Add this to the fact that if the Republicans DO NOT extend the tax breaks by June/July of this year, you could see another factor weighing heavily in favor of the Democrats for the mid-term elections.

Question for the B&T gurus.

So the time has come to SBR the APC9SD and I am pondering stocks. Well, not really. What I want to accomplish is to use a Gen 1 style butt plate. Taller with the mounting ears more centered in the plate. At some point B&T revised the plate to a much smaller and lower slung version but didn't update any pictures on pretty much any website you can find so it's a crap shoot whether you will get the Gen 1 or a newer version that doesn't really vibe with the gun. At this point an idea entered my head. What about an APC556/300/308 butt plate? They still rock the Gen 1 look and are actually available (and that is all I need. Already have the tele and buffer and it came with the rifle length stops). Seems workable but will it fit on the rails width wise? My heart says yes but I figured if someone had emperical data that would be awesome! What say y'all? Worst case the Haga Defense plate is a pretty decent clone but I would rather sstay B&T through and through. Petty, I know.
