Looking into building a long range AR and considering heavy barrels such as Criterion 24" bull barrel.
This seems like lot of barrel for an aluminum receiver. Overlooking balance and aesthetics, could the weight and sag on the receiver impact accuracy.
Any experience with this? Could it handle a can?

Anyone use their stuff? I'm thinking about using a set of receivers and handguard from them.

I am thinking about picking up a scope this black friday, and haven't really researched them as much as I would like, so I find myself in need of advice. My primary use(s) will be hunting at short range (under 100 yards), but I would also like to be able to practice for long distance shooting (out to about 1000 yards). It will be going on a 6.5 Creedmoor but I haven't settled on the exact rifle yet.

The following deals looked good and I am thinking now might be a good time to buy (with the sale and the potential of tariffs possibly driving up prices on some of the cheaper china manufactured scopes).

I am looking at the Arken EP 5 G2 7-35x56 (around 550), Arken EP-5 5-25x56 (does the fact that its not G2 matter) (around 420), and Vortex Optics Viper PST Gen 2 5-25x50(around 650).

Any considerations that I as a relative newbie in this field might miss when comparing them (they are all first focal plane scopes)?
Are the deals good enough to be worth jumping on or am I overvaluing them?
Anything else in that basic price range you would recommend instead?
Which would you pick and why?

I have a 300 win mag defiance action with proof barrel 1:10 twist and I have been reloading for it a little bit. It has 20" barrel.

I am using
185gr berger bullet's
69.00 grs powder - IMR-4350

I am getting around 2860fps
Sometimes my SDs are great and sometimes they suck but 1/2 moa to 3/4 moa groups.

But anyway do you think 2860fps sounds right? Do you think it's too fast for a 20" barrel?

So after going through the labyrinth of conflicting online opinions I decided to choose from opinions I find here.
