Where do you get your glasses?

I hate shopping for glasses, was just at Costco, they didn't have any frames I like. Too much goofy shit, and brand names on the sides that were like billboards. I don't want to be a walking advertisement, just something simple and elegant.

Any good places to buy glasses? Any good all American brands? I'd rather not support Luxxotica if I don't have to.

Shopping for glasses is one of my least favorite things to do, perhaps there's some good all American companies that have good frames that I can support.

Where do you guys get your glasses?

SVD Dragunov -- What are the best reference materials?

Hello. New user here. Am interested in learning more about SVD Dragunovs, mainly the pre-1991 Soviet military Izhevsk models. I've been collecting cold war era US militaria and now am hoping to expand to the russkie stuff. Can anyone point me to books, articles, websites and the like so that I can begin my journey on developing at least a modest amount of expertise on this subject? Thanks!

Greetings from Mississippi Y'all

Full Disclosure: I'm posting this to elevate my authenticity on here and hopefully be considered real enough for someone to sell me their used stuff.

I dove headfirst into LR in March of this year. After a series of "poor" decisions based upon perceived low cash flow, I'm finally on my third rifle. Anybody that says, "money can't buy skill", is full of shit. They never shot a real sub 1/4 MOA anything. As with anyone afflicted by the LR bug, I strive daily to be better. I can't thank all the contributors to this site enough. Other than from members of my club Gunline Shooting, I have learned the majority of this craft right here on SH. So, Thank You!

Ammo 308 Ammo

I have some misc 308 ammo. Full box of 168gr federal match, full box of 150gr power point, 3 20rd boxes of nato ammo, and one mix box with a few of 168gr federal and a few that I’m not sure.
Total 118 rounds
Looking for 140 shipped obo
Or trade for match 22lr ammo

FN 502 mini rmr o rings

I found the solution to our problem. The mini o rings under the rmr plate are watch size O rings. The size is 3.6X1.7X0.8 ring. Unfortunately You have to buy a whole box of watch o rings to get the right size but it comes with plenty in that size if you lose them. I didn’t have any when I bought mine and the screws kept coming loose. The problem is now fixed and the screws are not backing out

Just passing on the information to pass to others.

Griffin 1x & 3x Prism Sights Available Now

Compact and lightweight, The Griffin 1x Prism (GPS1X™) & The Griffin 3x Prism (GPS3X™) are high-quality T-1/T-2 footprint optics at a great price. The Griffin 1x Prism comes with a 100-300m triangular illuminated etched reticle. The tip of the triangle is your 100m zero, whereas the bottom of the triangle can be used for a 300m elevation hold. The width of the bottom of the triangle can be used to range ~20" targets at 300m. The Griffin 3x Prism comes with a simplified Ideal Carbine Optic (ICO™) BDC etched reticle for common cartridges. Both optics have 1 MOA adjustment increments for windage and elevation and employ 10 brightness levels for ideal target acquisition in any light condition. Brightness automatically returns to the last setting when the optic is powered down and back up again.

Auto-off and shake-awake functionality ensures your optic is powered on at a moments notice, while preserving the 30,000 hour battery life from the included CR2032 battery. The soft rubber brightness adjustment buttons provide tactile feedback for brightness changes. Windage and elevation knobs also provide tactile feedback for precise adjustments to POI. The crystal clear, paralax-free sight picture allows comfortable eye relief and rapid reticle acquisition. The reticle is glass-etched ensuring your optic is usable with or without battery power in extreme scenarios.

Griffin Prism Sights include Griffin-branded soft rubber lens caps that nest into one another and can be stowed on the battery cap when not in use, tool kit, (1) CR2032 battery, T-1/T-2 Footprint Cantilever Picatinny mount, T6 fasteners, and Griffin microfiber lens cleaning cloth. All Griffin optics are warrantied for life against any mechanical defects, and for 2 years on electronic defects.

QD dot mount risers will be available for our T-1 and ACRO footprinted sights in the near future. Stay tuned!

Brass neck after firing

I have a proof ss 6.5cm zermatt origin action prefit barrel and I noticed that after firing my case necks are still tight enough that a bullet doesn't go in easily. Is that normal? They bull will slide in but it's like there still a bit of neck tension like the area in my chamber where the necks are is small enough that the necks don't expand very much at all. Obviously you don't want them to blow out a ton but it is normal to have the necks still pretty tight even after firing?

The Everyday Sniper Podcast: PreGame Thanksgiving Day Special

The Everyday Sniper Podcast: PreGame Thanksgiving Day Special

Happy Thanksgiving Charlie Brown !

It's the day before the holidays and we have some thoughts over here at the Everyday Sniper Podcast. First off, don't forget to check out Hide TV this podcast is simulcast over there live, now with video.

I begin the show talking about Black Friday Specials, we sent out a Giant Email with some Black Friday deals. Lots of great stuff to buy for the upcoming new year. Then I go into the SG Timer 2 from Shooter's Global.

The Shooters Global Timer is complete system which integrates with your phone to manage your shooting and training. We'll have a video and review on Sniper's Hide, but needless to say we are big fan of timers, and the SG Timer 2 worked really well for us.

Next, I am big fan of where Area419 has come from, these guys have grown into a powerhouse company. I have their precision scope mount here and the entire package is awesome. We'll have more details on the Area419 stuff. I really think they hit the next level of precision rifle gear.

My big reveal,

I am going to sponsor a shooting team. I go Into some details, and where my head is with this, but I think I am gonna help some new shooters.

I am thinking I can even host a virtual team. Help them training and mentor them online. Using the Hide TV resources I believe I can create a virtual shooting team situation where they can learn and grow.

Happy Holidays everyone,

Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast.

Hello from Nebraska!

Yes, believe it or not, Nebraska is actually a real place! ;)

Long time reader/lurker and I've encountered enough useful information from here over the years that I wanted to finally get registered! Don't really have any easy long range access where I'm currently located, but that doesn't stop me from being interested in stuff that's longer range than my 2 6.5 CM's. Who knows...maybe I'll even be able to snag something from the buy/sell forum someday assuming I can get the better half on board lol. Either way I'm excited to finally be here!
